This is a very interesting healing ritual. In my class at University I'm learning about Myth, Magic and Shamanism and this video is a great example of what I was looking for. It's good to see that traditional medicine still plays a role in the rest of the world. I think we've lost touch with these healing rituals in Canada, the U.S and many other countries..

The feathered headdresses and costumes are designed to impress the client, the same way as the white jacket and stethoscope around the neck of the doctor, the regalia of the army commanders: are all designed to trigger a response of respect and admiration. This as well as many other techniques are used to trigger the persons own ability to heal themselves. Most shamanic practitioners use a variety of techniques to stimulate healing, some directly used to trigger a placebo healing.
