  • In this episode, we do a recap of everything that's known to date on China's future lunar exploration plans: Chang'e 6, 7 and 8 missions, the ILRS, and of course, sending a Chinese astronaut to the lunar surface. Everything here is based on facts and found on the internet (openly available Chinese sources).

    Thank you for keeping up the updates on the Chinese space program! It's terrible that western media is completely ignoring China's space achievements aside from scaremongering about some debris. Your videos are invaluable!

      Yes western media is quite ignorant, especially the redditors. They are so focused on getting back to the moon first to beat the Chinese. The Chinese don’t care for the race, they want to build something permanent.

    Hope China keep the Western countries out of this program, also US' Asian allies, just work with Russia and the rest of the world, Africa and Middle East already proved to be reliable partners. is the Russia China Moon Base program still a go?

    • @ex0duzz
      @ex0duzz 2 года назад +2

      It's a good way to divide USA from its allies. China gets all the data also while USA doesn't.
      Also, China is better than that and doesn't need to sink to USAs level. USA already banned themselves so China doesn't need to do anything.
      China should offer to work with spaceX to make a mars colony just to fuck with USA, even if spaceX will never or is not legally allowed to work with China.

    The Chinese space program, usually they make two identical vehicles for every mission, one is for regular launch and the other one is for backup or rescue mission in case that the first one failed for any reasons. If the first one was a great success then the second one will be used for working on different missions. That's why people will find that the Chinese space program moves so fast.

    Can man survive past lower earth orbit (LEO)? If so, what kind of technology did they use to protect themselves from the deadly radiation beyond the van allen radiation belt?

    • @ati4cpasuccess
      @ati4cpasuccess 2 года назад +1

      They only spent a short time passing through it, and the spacecraft is pointed toward the sun so that there is more space between the crew and any flares/radiation. Other than that, mission times are monitored so that crew exposure is minimized.

    • @ati4cpasuccess
      @ati4cpasuccess 2 года назад

      Current spacecraft have multiple bumper shields of thin aluminium sheets, a net of Kevlar and epoxy (materials high in hydrogen that are also used in military and fire-fighting gear), and air gaps in between to slow down radiation particles. Earths magnetic field also extends into space, and deflects most interstellar radiation. Hope this helps!

    • @DongfangHour
      @DongfangHour  2 года назад +1

      There is still some debate on the landing sites of the the final Chang’e missions so I don’t think anything is confirmed for the ILRS (although there’s a very good chance it will be at the lunar South Pole due to the presence of ice).

    Interesting news. I wish China well, but with ILRS, I expect Russia simply won't make a meaningful contribution beyond a cosmonaut per moon flight. Poutine's war in Ukraine will exhaust the economy, and they'll be able to afford 1 or 2 Soyuz flights a year for a decade or more.

    is there a public website with a picture database where I can view all the latest zhurong images like NASA's Planetary Data System (PDS)? I can't seem to find anything other than generic publicly released stuff.

    • @edwinliu4270

      Not sure, the rover may have gone dormant, because Zhurong uses solar cells, unlike NASA's nuclear ones.

    It'd seem the "tables have turned"; Chinese people must really consider the sensitivities of Western people's digression on the world political stage, but in fact, the West have always been concerned about their "Chinese bumpkins" advancing on top of the civil world as well as their own "face".
