Hi Ryan, This inspired me so much that I had tears in my eyes watching it. I've never been able to go on trips for longer than a week with money being an issue and all the responsibilities of being a working mom in the Philippines. I do feel trapped. You brought me along the countries you went to, your adventure and experiences. I've just started travelling to our neighboring countries when this pandemic hit. All I want is to be able to travel for a month or two all across Southeast Asia perhaps to experience more of the people and their everyday lives like you did. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, it will still happen in the future. Good luck to all your endeavors and I'm stoked to see more from your channel.❤️
I’ve got all of my fingers crossed for you Rowena! I hope the pandemic passes and we can all start travelling again soon. Thank you so much for your comment and stay safe
Hi Ryan, Once again, incredible storytelling, the sooner you are both back on the road the better for all of us. Sarah and I lived vicariously through your travels which were a great inspiration for our travel plans that you know well. You deserve to have a well monetised channel and be travelling fulltime doing what you love and what you are absolutely best at. Great work as ever. Cheers Neil & Sarah
Thanks so much guys! You are doing a great job with the channel and can’t wait to see you both on the road properly. Fingers crossed for later this year
We completely agree with Neil & Sarah! Just found your channel a few days ago and have been loving the storytelling. It touched us deeply when you guys were returning home from Thailand. We appreciate your honesty and showing a side of travel that most don’t usually show. We are currently saving up and working on our side hustles to hopefully go remote full time and then set off to travel long-term. Will message you on IG to connect. Hopefully we can travel together someday. You guys seem fun and down to earth. Cheers from San Francisco 💛✨ Xoxo, Shafeen & Waseem

Been following this channel for well over a year now and you are an amazing content creator and a great person. I've actually done the leap last week and booked a one-way flight to Thailand last week scheduled for next July. Hope you get to travel the world again very soon!
we are 4 weeks from returning to penang. The Job is over, the site is up and the math seems to work out. I did what you did when I was 28 then 7vyears later was living and working in Hong Kong. haven't looked back since, your videos are refreshingly honest and really pleased you have returned for updates.
Happy for you!! Glad to hear you’re not regretful. Hope you’ll continue with the videos, because they’re always presented well! Looking forward to seeing the growth of your channel!
Thank you sir. This is an eye opener for Asians. While Asians tend to go to Europe or America for a better life, Asians missed the point that Asia offers the best there is. The beauty of nature. Hospitable people. Europeans see this and this is something we Asians need to cherish.
Ryan I love your videos and the feeling of connection that comes through in them. Looking forward to more...especially of your new travel/life abroad when that happens. (I love SEA too...it’s always felt like coming home to me).
Hey Ryan, just came across this video, im actually quitting (unless they let me come back after) my job to go to Thailand in April, I’ve been once and caught the bug. Your segment near the end of the video helped ease my mind a bit. Im hoping to be able to plant some seeds over there and grow my channel a bit as well. No worries We shall see what the future holds. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks David. It’s funny you say that, I have recently been considering making videos of each country we visited. A sort of overview/general impressions with moments that never made it into the other films... it would take a lot of work to put those together, but I’m tempted

You have done well to achieve 32k subscribers as of now but this is the tip of the iceberg. I have a feeling your subscriber will blow up even more. Keep making those videos!

Thanks and I do enjoy watching all your vlogs.. already been a subscriber for many months but first time posting comment.. love watching both of you together and your honest sharing of your trips and experience.. of course it's about both your life journey exploring all those places but it would be great if it's incorporated like travel and living channel with names of places, location, some details and prices of hotels, buses, ferries, food, tours, local transportation .. as and when both of you feel comfortable to indicate in future vlogs.. cheers from Malaysia.. will rewatch your vlogs occasionally .. thank you both again for spending much effort, time and money and sacrifices made too for exploring South East Asia and Asia
@@OneShotAdventures yes.. I did notice some vlogs did include cost and reviews.. example Langkawi vlog.. Yes, we sure need lots savings to travel long term and have to work and save hard too ,to play hard.. Although I would love travel and stay at all european and all western countries,it would be extremely expensive and savings would wipe out much sooner than if just travel around cheaper destination..
Well said mate. Get the head down for a while and graft it out to make next time better. I've had to return home twice myself for the cold turkey reality comedown, but was all so worth it. Currently well on the way to having things in place to not make it a third! From a fellow "nectar of the gods" guzzler!! Keep up the great content.
Damn, you are such a good storyteller! We feel like we've been part of your journey from near the beginning... 😁 We are inspired and beyond ready to hit the international road again!
Really good video mate 👏🏻 reminded me a lot of my own journey to where I am now! Don't be so hard on yourself in terms of not monetising earlier. I get what you mean but on the flipside, monetising too early may possibly have made it feel too much like 'real work' and added extra pressures, if that makes sense 😂 there's something very important about pure, innocent and raw creativity when you're starting off on a journey like this. I think when you look back in ten years, you'll be very happy with how everything fitted into place and played a part. Perhaps even the experience of Covid in the UK! Looking forward to watching more and really stoked for you guys to finally be getting out of lockdown
Cheers Josh, that’s very true! I probably experimented a bit more in those earlier videos and learned a hell of a lot. Looking for to episode 2 of the Lombok series mate!
@@OneShotAdventures yeah man, it is alllll about the learning curve in the early days! You have come so far already and I'm excited about where you'll be in the next few years 😁 I also completely agree about slow travel. It's definitely the way to go I think! You get to know a place so much better, on a whole different level. I presume that's partly why Thailand got under your skin haha The world has changed a lot and I think slow travel is also a more sustainable way of seeing the world - something that more people can do now that so many more are working remotely and online. I am a viewer of many SE Asia videos. The better ones fit into two categories. One: the experienced filmmakers who are adjusting to staying. Two: the indigenous who find themselves fortunate to have a camera. The quality of both is always better than expected, but I've always wondered what it would be like if they paired up. What problems could be encountered and what story could be made? Health problems tend to follow my family, so I'll never be able to try.

Hi Ryan, as usual you have created a superb video......I don’t know why, but every time I see your new video is posted I feel an overwhelming compulsion to grab a drink and a snack and settle in for a great experience. The way that you produce and present your films is extremely compelling. I feel that we are kindred spirits because when I was younger I was exactly like you, I felt the compulsion to travel, it overtook my life completely. I am quite sure that you will be back on the road soon, can’t wait to hear about the next adventure ......pm me ...let me know what it is hush hush.......and please please please ....get Emma to attack you with a pair of scissors or something ...lol...

It's always nice to hear that people feel the same way as you about life/experiences. I'm sure we'll be back on the road soon enough and hopefully the plan will be working 😊
Is so sad that around 90% ish of ppl`s first reaction is "what u going to do when u get home again". I believe most ppl (around 90%) would quit or change their job for something that made them more happy. Life is so short! more ppl should be brave and do what they Love and make them happy =) Love your channel, rly hope u guys can make a living out of this awesome channel and keep traveling/making videoes and wake up everyday doing what u Love!
I'm not so sure, don't underestimate the power of comfort and routine - I think there is a certain fear that comes with doing anything "out of the norm". I doubt many people would regret doing it though! Thanks for the kind words
Howdy Ryan, I think your travel videos are brilliant and I'd like to support you. Do you have a Patreon page? I looked at the link under this video, which I think is the most current, but didn't see one.
Hey Alex, thanks so much for the comment! It really means a lot that you would want to support the channel. I actually don’t have a Patreon page at the moment, because I didn’t think I could find enough people to be interested! I may consider it in the future if I could figure out some worthwhile rewards for everyone 😊
@@OneShotAdventures Patreon isn't for everyone, and it's true that you do need to put some real thought into making it a special experience for your patrons, but you're already able to make a special experience with your story-telling and there are other RUclips travel vloggers you might model off of. If you do decide it might be worth a try, I think you'd figure it out. (And, honestly, as long as there is a need and you're still putting out excellent content, I think you'll find that many folks just want to support vs. getting exclusive rewards. Or at the very least, support is their primary reason for joining and staying your patron. That's been my experience, anyway.) Like with any aspect of making a living with content creation, there are of course no guarantees, but at a minimum it can be another revenue stream. And while I don't create the kind of content you do (I make webcomics), Patreon is what enabled me to continue when I thought I'd have to quit in 2015. It definitely made things more sustainable. If you do decide to explore it, feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to answer questions from a creator perspective. And as a fan, I'd love to see you being able to continue your work. :)
@@alexw7074 Thanks again Alex, this is really helpful! I need to do my research as you say, but my gut feeling tells me that this makes complete sense. Going forward, I want to diversify my income streams anyway, so Patreon does fit nicely into that plan. Thanks again for the insight, I may get in touch when after I look into it some more 😊
nice story and great editing .... would you ever consider doing more raw footage with basically no editing?? reason i ask is because one year travel and this technique you could put out a video everyday.
Thanks Marco! I have definitely considered it, but most of the footage from our trip was filmed with a certain style in mind. Going forward I would like to film more “raw” videos 😊
@@OneShotAdventures yeah these videos are awesome but i assume take awhile to edit. people like bald and bankrupt or dale philip ..... just a gopro and no editing and people love it

Hahaha I already let her loose with the scissors twice during lockdown, I think I'll wait a few more days for the pros now 😂 Thanks for the comment Dan, it really means a lot.
Howdy Ryan,
I think your travel videos are brilliant and I'd like to support you.
That's been my experience, anyway.)
Like with any aspect of making a living with content creation, there are of course no guarantees, but at a minimum it can be another revenue stream.
Thanks again for the insight, I may get in touch when after I look into it some more 😊
@@OneShotAdventures Sounds good. :)
nice story and great editing ....
would you ever consider doing more raw footage with basically no editing??
reason i ask is because one year travel and this technique you could put out a video everyday.
Thanks Marco! I have definitely considered it, but most of the footage from our trip was filmed with a certain style in mind. Going forward I would like to film more “raw” videos 😊
@@OneShotAdventures yeah these videos are awesome but i assume take awhile to edit. people like bald and bankrupt or dale philip ..... just a gopro and no editing and people love it
@@marcobeerski6429 Yeah I really admire those guys, they make great videos. It's something that I would definitely like to try in the future, because it would save me so much time editing haha
👍❤️

Ah this is adorable ❤
I want to be free 🦅 that's all I want
hey guys...loove your videos...but i neeeed names...where to stay, how to get there, which bus, which train, what is the best time, where to eat...heeeelp....thank u.
Thanks! That information would be strange in this video though, this is telling my story not a travel guide 😊

You have never visited India
Not yet
@@OneShotAdventuresHave you any plan to visit after the pandemic?
It’s difficult to make plans right now, but I 100% want to visit India in the future!
