Just recently bought Warhammer 3 and all the outstanding DLC for 1 and 2 that I was missing, and Tomb Kings was among those I was still to pick up. I've yet to try them out but I can tell that the Research Tip is going to be a game changer! Hopefully this will lessen the learning curve somewhat! Now I just have to wrap my smooth brain around micro-managing Cav units........ Anyway thanks very much for the helpful video Forwind!
Nice tips, generally agree with most. You have a good set beginner play style like you mentioned in the video. If you get a little more comfortable at tomb kinda or want to play high difficulties. I’d advise against holding research, turtling , and making gold buildings though. It’s important you expand fast get your important buildings and more armies on the field. Once your empire grows you’ll get more research rate to offset the research deduction. Only build military buildings to get your army’s powerful fast. You’ll be fighting enough that you can’t even spend the money you’re getting. Again, this is just a different play style. The guide from the video above is a very good play style as well. I just feel like it wouldn’t do great at legend difficulty. I would love to hear anyone’s experiences though.
It holds up fine on legendary. Completed all campaigns as them on legendary and the only change you could make is getting 1 extra lord early but then holding research. You basically afk for like 60 turns and just sit in ambushes outside of your capital until you can field all the armies. Then expansion is simple
I also use the faster playstyle with great success on very hard. The combination of Necrotect campaign movement range buff + Endless March after a battle, plus the healing, makes Tomb Kings one of the best factions for expanding fast. They don't really have public order issues and you have sandstorms for defense if you overextend so taking settlements as fast as possible can definitely work.
I don't completely understand what you mean by this; 2. Research all but 1 turn of every army expansion tech - Do you mean only learn one of the 30% slower research tiers and then learn everything in that chain before going to the next ?
Nope research an army expansion tech but then switch away on the last turn to another army tech and so on until ever tech is 1 turn away then actually finish them. It's saves you massive turns of research
@@adamsargent6695 Don’t do this above normal difficulty though. On legend difficulty it’s imperative you get new army’s out quickly to gain territory and defend it.
Other than this, Tomb Kings desperately need a rework. No AP units early game. -30% research is absolutely bad game design. Sandstorm attrition rite can be easily dodged by raiding stance by AI. They really struggle against most factions in battle.
Idk anything about Warhammer 40k . I just came from warcraft reforged where i played with them and i like this race. It is cool and it feels like the undead race in warcraft but with much more details and cool lore and of course tons of cool creatures. All seem so cool to me from the heroes to the buildings.
Healing mages? Do they have access to Any lores with healing aside from the necrotect for constructs and the bar in battle? Unless you are referring to bound spells I am forgetting

Glad to help! It is a massive game changer, just expand slowly prior to it or do 1 army tech max
Also go play britonnia, you'll get good fast or fail.
Thank you for the guide. It was concise and helpful. The research advice, I wish I had known when I started the game.
Glad I could help! Its a major change to how you play the faction!
This is the faction I've been wanting to try! Perfect! 😂
@@j-youtube974 thanks mate 👍🏻
Hope you enjoy!

Good luck!

@@LordForwind Wow - thank you, that's actually insane strat !
But then you have to wait how many turns before your second army? 😅
Typically, I will do one tree just to get the second army. The. See how many trees I can get down to 1 turn before I need the 3rd.

Great guide! The tech tree trick is an INSANE GAME=CHANGER!!

I just think the attrition immunity in raiding needs to be removed

Well there is the other two undead as well vampire coast and counts which similar and completely different
first, save starting 5k and get casket of souls asap it will decimate any slow chaff army [TK, Vampires] and do great damage vs anything else.
Yeah that can make quite a difference in surviving early
Biggest tip to add is subscribe to Tomb Kings Extended, one of the most impressive mods for TWWH to date
yeah some of the mod add alot to factions

The nekahara lore heals when spells are cast, its a bought ability. Restless dead I believe, heals per spells cast.
Also realm of souls brings in a passive heal every so often
