Now I am staring at wiring diagrams that are making my head spin cause now for some reason my horn and brake light doesn't work 😡. And the neutral oil and fuel lights don't work either. I think I need to put some resistors in but I don't understand how this has anything to do with my horn and brake light. Will definitely be looking forward to more of your videos so I can have a good handle on how to do bare bones wiring when I get a chance to strip the bike down for paint.

Hey can you tell me what values the diodes you used were? I’m trying to rewire my 99 xvs dragstar from scratch. I have all of the components but need the diode pack. Also I’m using a starter relay that has a built in main fuse instead of solenoid and motor separate wiring. Maybe you could shed a little light on how to set that up with the 4 stage ignition key. Thanks

I got these led lights I'm putting on my 98 xv1100 I need to tap into the left and right side turn signal wires and break because when you turn the signal on and or break the one side depending which turn signal you hit makes that whole sides lights flash same with when you hit the break they all turn red but can't find a wire diagram to find the separate turn signal wires and break wire do you have any way to help me find that out please?
This is specific comment on xv1100 models!!! All around good info but the information only applies to xv1100 models 95 and under. I have found that that the term "pick-up coils" cannot be taken literally. The 96 and 97 models ( really I am working on xv1100 ) have only two wires running from the case and I am unsure as to where the other two truly come from! This has created so much of a crazy mess of this for me! I have attempted using coils from 750 now which has four wires and so on and so forth!!! If you could help me with the 97 xv1100 ignition circuit I'd appreciate it!!

I removed the Mcv and AIS system on mine and In another video the guy said you had to have a line ran to the petcock on the vacuum port for the bike to keep time but you are running a single port petcock so did you have to do anything specific to do this? I’m using a sportster tank and I have no way of using the valve petcock
Great video! Wish I had found it before I started rewiring the whole bike lol. I'd would greatly appreciate it you would tell me the values of the diodes and if the values would be different between the tci and cdi
Neutral runs to diode so you can just cut the blue wire leading into casing. Clutch switch runs to relay unit which i removed. However if ya take the two wires and just attach them together it will make the relay unit think the clutch is always in.
@@unprofessionaljoe7233 I also removed the relay. I have replace everything with a moto gadget mo-unit. So if the clutch relay is gone, does that mean it dosnt effect anything anymore? I'm not getting spark after full rewire and looking into those switches to see if I need to do anything more.
Hey man could use your help greatly! I rebuilt a xv1100 and the tci is the 86 year and the harness is the 98 year. I got everything going including the engine turning over but the thing I'm worried about is the safety switch cutting me from being able to take off as the 98 year has a direct plug into the tci and the 86 doesn't beside the black and white that goes to the side stand relay. How can I be for sure that the safety is bypassed? Do I connect it into the same spot as the 98 year and complete the circuit at the stand and clutch lever or leave it disconnected and I am good? I already have the 86 pick up just need to know how to bypass the safety on the 86 tci that doesn't have the 86 original harness
@@unprofessionaljoe7233 Hello thanks for replying. I am transforming my virago into a bobber and the old owner had modified the whole system now I would like to remove some wires leaving only the ignition and lights eliminating all the safety devices

Hey man ! I’ve been having trouble with my bike. It wouldn’t start anymore and the positive pole on the battery melted my bike’s battery compartment box a little. While trying to remove the battery, the wire leading to the regulator (which was already pretty torn up) split. Could this be what caused the battery to melt plastic on the bike’s battery compartment? Meaning that the torn up wire wasn’t allowing the regulator to work properly?
