Android Firebase Push Notification With an Image

- In this video we are going to learn about how to display Firebase push notification with an image. If you send the push notification with an image from firebase console, it will display the image only if the app in the foreground. The solution for this problem is to send a push message with only data field. Here we are going to use the advanced Rest Client Chrome extension for sending the data push message.

Hello Sir, I follow all your tutorials for android development. They are great.
I had a request sir- Why don't you make some video tutorials on some of the Google APIs like Drive API.
I am facing few problems while implementing it.
I saw the documentation of it and had a go at it but it seems the Google documentation is for google play services 8.4.0 and current is 10.0.1 with a slight modification overall.
I also got confused as there are Drive APIs and Drive API -v2 and v3 which is also bit confusing to me.
The documentation also is not complete like they have implemented interfaces without telling us to implement that particular interface, which is creating problems.
Could you plz do a video series with Drive API ?

Good tutorial Ive managed to get notifications from firebase but when using ARC I get 220 ok but no notifications are showing on the phone. Any ideas?

Hello sir, I'm already see all of ur firebase tutorial, I have one qus, how I open a custom activity when notification clicked in phone.. all of ur tutorial always open luncher activity, bt I need to open a activity like Notification Activity.

You can send a general URL int he imgurl section of the data and fet h it using bitmap methods to get image

instead of advanced rest client you can send data messages from your app server using curl.

I'm using Firebase Notifications but it doesn't work when app is in background or killed and I'm going crazy.
Nothing that i set into MyFirebaseMessagingService works. It only works when app is in foreground.
I think there is no way to send to all devices explicitly. But if you want to send to topics, you can use "to": "/topics/foo-bar" where foo-bar is the name of your topic. The firebase docs defines the parameter "to" as: "The value can be a device's registration token, a device group's notification key, or a single topic (prefixed with /topics/). To send to multiple topics, use the condition parameter."
