For those who don’t know and don’t get what this is, this is Jungkook’s entrance exam for SOPA. SOPA is School Of Performing Arts meaning they will teach things such as music, dance, drama, ect. but they also teach normal school stuff as well. That’s why many idols went to SOPA. If you want to join a dancing major, they will ask you to dance, if you want to join a singing major, they will ask you to sing. Its quite obvious that Jungkook joined the singing major, as this video being shown is his audition.

Si Michelle you train at your company, they also do vocal lessons and many other things not just dancing night and day and it’s not like required to attend the school to be an idol. The school is also for film acting, theatre acting, instruments, music, other careers in performing arts etc. (Plus he wasn’t really a celebrity at this time yet so not sure what the original comment is about.)

I love how his voice essentially sounds the same, except now, you can hear all the hard work he put into it. Here, he sounds breathy and staccato, but now he's consistently able to support long phrases even while doing the most exhausting and intense choreography. He has come so far and is truly an inspiration. Unlike most other idols, you never have to make excuses for him, because he doesn't need them. He has worked so hard and he's consistently excellent
I was thinking pretty much exactly what you said, are you a mind reader? haha What's interesting is that he has said he deliberately did not take many vocal lessons. Obviously he's had some, but his natural instincts are so good and his knowledge of how to use his body, including vocal chords and the muscles that support them, is so good, that I think he probably needed very little instruction. Add to it that freakishly perfect ear of his, that famous perfect pitch, and you can see how he's really come to excel at vocals. He said he started to feel that the lessons were changing his own innate vocal style, and he didn't want that to happen. The boy knew what he was about. The man today has become a fantastic and versatile singer. He relies much less on those breathy tricks and sounds much more polished and mature. I love his early vocals but I also really love listening to his recent stuff where you can just hear how far he's grown.

That's interesting and adds to his impressive-ness. It sounds like he learnt well from the few lessons that he took and kept applying the techniques learnt. I wish more idols would do that. Jungkook is the definition of a born singer and _proper_ one too. I agree with everything you've said and particularly about his singing style. It's not silly and light and technically damaging like some other out there. He has a proper and mature singing style and it's damn good for him. Of all idols, he's one of the few I really admire. He works hard AND smart, and all of that has translated to his immense success today. I'll say it again. Truly an inspiration and someone to look up to!

You'll enjoy the interviews. I watched all 7 of them. It's cool to see them relaxed and serious.

I love how his voice essentially sounds the same, except now, you can hear all the hard work he put into it. Here, he sounds breathy and staccato, but now he's consistently able to support long phrases even while doing the most exhausting and intense choreography. He has come so far and is truly an inspiration. Unlike most other idols, you never have to make excuses for him, because he doesn't need them. He has worked so hard and he's consistently excellent
I was thinking pretty much exactly what you said, are you a mind reader? haha What's interesting is that he has said he deliberately did not take many vocal lessons. Obviously he's had some, but his natural instincts are so good and his knowledge of how to use his body, including vocal chords and the muscles that support them, is so good, that I think he probably needed very little instruction. Add to it that freakishly perfect ear of his, that famous perfect pitch, and you can see how he's really come to excel at vocals. He said he started to feel that the lessons were changing his own innate vocal style, and he didn't want that to happen. The boy knew what he was about. The man today has become a fantastic and versatile singer. He relies much less on those breathy tricks and sounds much more polished and mature. I love his early vocals but I also really love listening to his recent stuff where you can just hear how far he's grown.
@@sakitoby1581 When did he say that he hasn't taken many vocal lessons? Asking because I actually didn't know he said that, I just assumed that he had taken a bit, because it certainly sounds so. That's interesting and adds to his impressive-ness. It sounds like he learnt well from the few lessons that he took and kept applying the techniques learnt. I wish more idols would do that.
Jungkook is the definition of a born singer and _proper_ one too. I agree with everything you've said and particularly about his singing style. It's not silly and light and technically damaging like some other out there. He has a proper and mature singing style and it's damn good for him. Of all idols, he's one of the few I really admire. He works hard AND smart, and all of that has translated to his immense success today. I'll say it again. Truly an inspiration and someone to look up to!
@@wellno9 Born Singer is one my all time favorite songs! haha Last year I think it was, BANGTANTV posted a series of member-on-member interviews that were really great. They spoke in-depth about music topics, no clowning around. It was really fascinating to hear them speak about their craft. Each member was interviewed by someone other than the person they interviewed. JK interviewed Jin, but Hobi interviewed JK. It's called Jungkook's BE-hind Full Story on the BangtanTV YT channel. That's where he said he hasn't taken a lot of lessons because he'd rather keep his organic style of singing than strive for technical vocal perfection. (I'm paraphrasing here.) You'll enjoy the interviews. I watched all 7 of them. It's cool to see them relaxed and serious.
