I come from a blended family, my mum got married to my step dad who by then had two children and together we are now one big family. It's been like 26years but the challenges are still there because so many issues were never resolved when we were still kids, lemme say our parents didn't involve us in their decisions and it made us (the kids) be rebellious at some point and the feeling of not being loved by the step parent as you'd hope, were there, and now we are adults two of us have our own families yet somehow there are still blames thrown here and there. I'm not sure we will ever heal completely. I wouldnt want to put my children through that but at the same time I would support the idea if love binds them all. Love defeats anything I believe.
I was in a blended family set up until my wife passed away 2yrs ago. She had a daughter when we met and we also had a son together. However, with benefit of hindsight, and due respect to my bonus daughter, I don't think I would be able to blend a family a second time. Once is already an emotional roller coaster.

The biological father of my son has another 6 children with 6 different women I was stupid enough to think he would stay with us no matter what but he wont because I got sick of paying his lawyers and his mischief and every single one of the expenses of his life, I am sick of being abused materially, mentally and physically and because I want to give my care to my son and not to my ex, so I ended up alone and I got divorced because I married him with death threats, to be able to leave his island alive and now he is telling me that I will be alone for ever and that Noone will ever be interested in me because I am a single mother. My son is almost 5 and I have been single since 4 years. Seems like he was right I feel like a spare tire but it's all my fault God punished me for my stupidity...... Bless you all and hang in there. It will all be over one day.. Kids are growing.. Thank you for the podcast it actually gives me hope
So sorry for what he put you through. Remember God loves you and he is not punishing you. All the best in raising your child.
Please dont give power to his words! He is not God! Besides 1 Year being single is not a long time! Use the single time to work on yourself so that when he who the lord has in store for you comes, you will be ready!
God has not punished you. I mean, we reap what we sow but God is still you father and he will restore you more than you expect. Trust in him. he loves you.
@@ithankgod5733 no it's not 1 year of being single, it's 4,5 years.. I left there with my son when he was half year old.. January 2020..still single. Started seeing relationships for what they are.. Relationships seem to be about covering needs and there is always one giving 80% and one giving 20%.. One of them always gives more.. But we live in a modern world where women have to work too, plus they have the rest to manage house and kids and giving birth and menstruating every month... (and they say that we are the weak sex? ha!) Men could be more willing to take off the woman's load of work and if not then she has to stay single, until she finds a man who is not selfish. Yes I know I reap what I sow cuz I fell for a bad boy..

As a family law advocate i can only empathise with you and especially your children having to be put a court mandated structure being in one home half the week and weekend is another is just hectic . And as you said mediation is better but many people usually not willing to do it. Am sorry mama
