Windshield Washer Pump Repair - Toyota Rav4 2010

This washer pump was found to have failed so a new one was installed.
This repair is same for many models of Rav4s and other vehicles as well.
Most washer pumps can be accessed by removing the splash guard in the wheel well which is an easy and fast repair (about 30 min).

I suggest what worked for me - when putting in the new pump - I took off the washer and placed it on the hole first - then slide the pump into the washer - worked great. For m with the washer on - I was unable to insert the pump - tried many times (gave up).

Driver side and back work fine, passenger side barely comes out, so I'm guessing the pump is fine. Ideas why the passenger side is very weak.

Anybody know of that electrical connector is push tab our slider for removal?

Push tab but it is hard.
I used a long nose pliers to push the tab and remove the connector

Not sure... but water pump is a low voltage circuit so likely same fuse.

did you buy OEM or aftermarket pump ?

I tend to buy parts from Rock auto. then I look for OEM equivalent from better brands made either in Germany, Japan or ones that have good warranties or brand names. Often car companies use these same companies to make their parts then they just rebrand them. I also tend to look at pictures of the part to see which country the part is made in as I prefer bearings/seals made in Japan, Germany, USA, Canada vs China.
