I shoot at night in Tokyo and you absolutely do not need an f1.2 lens to shoot great images at nighttime. I use an f4 lens with image stabilisation. A f1.8 is more than adequate in most cases. The Nikkor 50mm f2 is awesome on the street. I have the Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 and if you really must have f1.2 for DoF I’d definitely recommend it.
@@lonewolfphotography My eyesight is not great and I’m not having any problems the E mount version zooms in as soon as you move the focus ring. With focus peaking it’s a snap. Seriously looking at the other Voigtlander E mount options now I have Voigtlanders in Nikon F and Leica M mount already. Cosina is really kicking it up a notch. Some of the M mount lenses are superior to my Leica Summicron and Summilux lenses to the point I sold the Leica glass. Many Leica M lenses are super sharp in the centre and have good CA and bokeh performance but fall apart at the edges and have stronger vignette. All fine if that’s what you’re after but I prefer better quality sharpness and brighter corners.
@@bradl2636 I've been talking myself out of buying it, but fear I will give in 😅. It Looks like a well built lens, 40mm would suit me I think as I found the 50 a bit tight at times.
@@lonewolfphotography Very solid build. I’m very happy with my 8 Voigtlander lenses across E M and F mounts. Feet zoomable 40mm option between 35mm and 50mm I think it’s perfect for street use.
Thank you, I really enjoyed my 3 full days there and hope to get back again next year. The highest ISO I used was 1000, whilst using the sigma 2.8 down some of the dark alleyways. Most of the time I was shooting around ISO 320/500.
Great video with some lovely shots! Looking to visit Tokyo myself next year, and as a beginner photographer want to start learning before I get there. Would you say it's pretty safe in Tokyo to just go out very late in the night and do some street photography on your own?
Thank you 🙂, hoping to have part 2 out soon. Very good question! I would go with 35mm, as the 50mm was very tight down the small alleyways. But having f1.2 was great for low light.
@@lonewolfphotography Yes I was just out in Shibuya a few nights ago with the 35gm on the A7IV and it was a lot of fun. A few photos I cropped a lil in post and and was able to get a different feel out of those shots .
the visuals are amazing. however its hard to understand when you talk. maybe add some subtitles or tune down the music when speaking. I like the content otherwise :)
Thank you 😊. I do not sell my presets, I have a few free that you can download. The link is still active on the editing video, if you would like to try them.
No problem, the link is in the description of the video. I have pasted the link to the video below. ruclips.net/video/3CbLE76bi9o/видео.htmlsi=--LYgCzDGyN7jt9t
I can see you’ve cropped in edit quite a lot. In my opinion that’s not really how a 50 should be utilised. Think going up close and accentuating your subject would be a better move.

Actually looking at the 40mm Voigtlander at the moment. How do you find the manual focus?

@@bradl2636 I will definitely check it out, thank you 👍
Good
Paradise country to take picture. Never done again. Expensive journey😢
Like 50mm F1,2 but for me is too long for travel and night city. 35mm F1,4 is better
Thank you for this nice Shots in Tokyo. Thats a nice Colorgrade on your Video as well.
Thank you😊
Awesome video, just picked up the Sony 50m f1.2 myself and want to do some night photography soon
Thank you. The lens is fantastic, perfect for night shoots. Enjoy!
Japan / Tokyo is an amazing place to shoot & visit, looks like you had a great time. Also what ISO were you using? The shots were looking great.

Thank you. Yes, it is very safe, no sign of trouble the entire time I was there. Could not recommend it highly enough!
Nice job.can't wait to see Part 2. Btw, if only can carry one lens for Tokyo tour, which one you would choose between 35gm and 50gm.

@@lonewolfphotographyF1,2 IS not T1,2.
40mm Voigtlander f1.2 if I could only have one prime. If only one zoom the Tamron 20-40mm f2.8.

It was the Dji action 2👍
Nice photos, can you make an editing tutorial
Thank you, yes I will be going through some of the edits from the trip very soon 👍

Thank you for the feedback, apologies for the audio, my accent is also difficult. But I will be working on accurate subtitles going forward. 😊
Do you sell your presets that you used here it's amazing for me

Очень долгое вступление, пришлось помотать и к основному материалу перейти😅
