Ive been layed up unwell on the couch at home and going through youtube. So having pleanty of spare time, I went through this video and really enjoyed it. Its great to see the trackbed is maintained in great condition! Long live the coal traffic! I fetched a map, so I could track the video locations. Ive never done the Midland Line but do recognise some locations from books and videos. That wide open valley just beyond Craigburn is 'out of this world'
hi, we loved this video, have watched it twice now, the vista is amazing, we hope to do this trip one day but what we would be able to see is nothing like what you put on you tube, the best vista is from the driver's cabin where you get to see the whole panorama, hoping you never delete it from you tube will watch it again, happy Aussie.
An adventure from an armchair great experience to explore the other side of the world in such detail by rail thank you so much for the opportunity and train trail being my favourite transport
What a Great Video this is if i Remember rightly Cass is one of the most Painted Sceneries in NZ possibly the Ocieanic Continent its got Scenery to die for especially when Snow is on the Mountains
I made that trip in 1972. What a great experience. Back then there were a couple of stops at thriving farming communities, but sadly they are all gone now.
Love your vids mate, i was wondering if you'd be interested in doing the 4wd track into Macetown: Macetown is not easy to get to. From Arrowtown, hike, bike, horse-trek or 4WD an unsealed 15km road that crosses the river and creeks 23 times (no 2WD cars).
Nice ride, though some side or bottom notes would have been better, like train size and composition, max speed vs train recommended max, why the slow downs, etc.
The landscapes are very beautiful. Technically, the pictures are not good. It's not 60fps here, so the details are not noticeable. A very strange filming technique where cars drive on the left side of the roads near the railroad tracks???
jeez I could sit there all day watching these great vids ...thankyou
Thanks to you for your amazing videos. I live in England and this is the only way I will get to see your beautiful country.
Какая красота всё таки есть на нашей планете. Слава Богу! Необъятные дали

Great video and such amazing scenery. Made even better by just natural sound and no annoying background music.
@11:18 what's the story with the car up on poles(?)
Amazing landscape, like in Slovenia, I like New Zealand very much...
Beautiful country
There seems to be a lot of empty/unused land in NZ.

22:02 A bird may hit the train. :(
Where is this; maybe Australia?
Did I see a kangaroo speeding along? Look it up.

22:02 i hope she clears it
@22:00 one dead bird, I'm guessing
1:00:08 lol what has happened to that car
In NZ we park cars up poles. It makes the place tidier.

It’s New Zealand and they drive on the left
