    God uses pain and suffering for good. I know that I trust and love God more now than I used to: before my Dad and eldest brother passed away within a two year span. God has turned my pain into thankfulness. And, I smile more now than I used to and my smile is genuine now because I feel God steering me in the perfect direction. I can go on and on talking about how God has changed my life drastically with trials and trubulatuons; and His kind love but I'll never want to finish.

    Thank you BOTH for your courage to be so open and resilient. In North America we are basically duped into believing that a blessed life is everything, which we cling to desperately.... but while deeply immersed in it, it's difficult to see just how brief, fragile and temporary everything really is. I've been through the ringer myself and have lost a great deal in the last decade, but in the process I've come to see just how important eternity really is. Our time here on earth is just a BLIP, which is exactly why we need to hang on to Christ through whatever happens (good and bad), and once into eternity, life REALLY begins. :)

    What an inspiring message, thank you so much, that is worth more than gold! To feel that you are not alone in these struggles. I may not have had the same experience, but can relate to the awful pain and anger you feel, but still believing in God through it all and keep on praying. My sister have chronic pain in all of her body, and despite her going through treatments and prayer she isn't healed. Almost the same for my little cousin who has severe migrane a lot of times and relatives just getting ill, and friends too. We cannot know why God doesn't always heal, but we can still trust in Jesus and get his amazing peace in us. This only motivates me more to take on the armor of God, and fight! It gives me fuel to be more kind, see other people, and so much. To you out there struggling, you are not alone.

    I've been through incredible experiences with the Lord through a few months of chemo and then hormone therapy, and stories are still unfolding. Alongside that came an interest for folk music instruments (easy to carry and prompt play anytime: Irish tin whistles, lyre harps...), teen ministry (started to teach a small group), and online diploma courses about youth mental health, counseling, health and wellness........ so much to give glory for the Lord in my life too. 💜

    Suffering and everything you could experience on Earth is the microcosm. God's Kingdom is the macrocosm. A bit hard to understand, but I have faced plenty of suffering and I know there's still a God.
    Reality would be deemed "insecure" if it did not allow disorder. With the complexity and intrinsic freedom that reality gives into, it shows that nothing can truly touch God's Glory. The angels have you in the end.

Thanks heaps for sharing your story. A friend of mine lost his life due to stomach cancer at the age of 30. He was only married for about a year. I even went to the wedding. As he only had a few days to live he was telling all he’s not Christian friends all about God and what it is to be a believer. That was in hospital when they were visiting him. He always said he was going to be in a

    I lost someone so special to me yesterday night, my pastor Jorge who was a blessing to my life, family and everyone around him. it's really hard to accept that he isn't here anymore and that I won't be able to laugh at his cheesy jokes or take in his wise words. it's hurting a lot and I dont know what to do. I'm so glad and thankful that he isn't suffering anymore but I wasn't ready for this. I haven't been close to God. I grew up in church but never really tried to have a relationship with God, I fail him and take him for granted, I feel so upset and ashamed that I've been this way, it hurts to know that it took the life of my pastor to make me realize how much I needed God and how I need to start trying. I know he's with God right now. ironic how he passed away on father's day to be with our father. I feel heartbroken, this does not even sum up how I feel right now. I am terrified to lose anyone else. I know God's plans are so much better than ours and I have faith that he will help my get through this pain. Right now I need God and I need help. I'm so thankful and blessed for everything God has given me.

    Thanks for your words. I too know what suffering is like. Four years ago, i was in an accident that caused me to be paralyzed on my left side. I cannot use my left arm or leg. I cannot even produce tears in my left eye. This makes life very hard if course, but there are still many things i can do. My mind and soul are not paralyzed. I still seek Gid and feel him in me. I am currently working to oppose my Canadian government's assisted dying law, because it might allow handicapped people to get dictor assisted suicide just because they feel unhappy. I know that disabled life is still life, and that we should not throw away the gift that God has given us.

    Loooong past that point . I can say I have never played the blame game against the Lord . If it was a imperfect person who brought me misery, or some other thing; I never felt at any point I was forsaken. I am around , people who I feel are soulless and have no feelings towards others , all the time. But it doesn't put a dent in my faith. People are born with free will, do what you want...but remember , the bill always comes due!

    Hey my sista love your testimony sorry for your loss my mother died of cancer, my sister too we'll know the answer to that question when we see our father in heaven. The thing I do know is that Jesus loves us so much I was lost for 29 year's did whatever I wanted well I opened a door to the demonic through sin I got possessed. In 2016 I got sick fell into deep depression I had heart problems, high blood pressure, lust, watching pornography, using alcohol and drugs.
    One night I saw two shadows walk up to my side door I invited them in not knowing I invited demon's into my house and into my body evil things started to happen I was stuck in my room for a year and three months isolated, paralyzed I was at the end of my rope no where to run well Jesus intervened he showed me the spiritual realm what I invited into my house it was horrible, horrific at the end of my vision I couldn't form word's I was mumbling finally I screamed for him he saved me, he cured me your right he only gives us as much as we can handle. Stay on fire for the Lord Jesus is the only way, Jesus is real I saw him, demon's are real, Hell is real, any body else would have blamed God and turned away but you have enough faith for a thousand Christians take care my sistas God is good

    hi :) thanks for sharing your story! i just want to point out that i think sarah references 1 corinthians 10:13, but that verse is often used incorrectly. it says, "He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear," but it's not referring to how much suffering you go through. it refers to temptations and being able to resist sin. i read some commentary that said he DOES give us more than we can bear so that we are forced to turn to Him. i don't think it detracts for her story or her faith, i just want to point out that it's difficult for non-Christians to hear that phrase "God doesn't give us more than we can handle" and be okay with it. just some food for thought :)

    I have epilepsy & lately it's gotten so so much worse I'm hardly ever home, just in the hospital for weeks running tests. Being in pain & anxiety. It's come to a point where death would be a sweet release for me because I'm so worn out. I'm done. I don't have any hope left. None.
    I'm not able to live a normal, carefree life, I have to deal with massive health issues everyday.
    I go to the hospital church everyday & pray pray pray begging god to please stop & make me well again. I'm starting to doubt everything. If god is real, why isn't he protecting me? Why do I have so so many setbacks & get worse every single day? I talk to him everyday, begging. But it just keeps getting worse. God doesn't protect me, he's not on my side & honestly I wish to just die already on most days to not be in pain anymore.

      Alyssa I am so sorry! 😭 My heart is breaking for you. I struggle with anxiety and just that alone is a beast. Please please believe me- God IS for you. His love for you will never fade or change, and nothing in your life can separate you from it! He is real, He hears you, and He will meet you in His lovingkindness if you wait for Him. He is not holding back from you, even when God says no He does it in love. I know that can be really hard to understand... but God can see the bigger picture in your life and He works All things for good for those who love Him. Those who trust in His Son for salvation are His precious children; He will never leave or forsake you! He is good, and He loves you more in a moment than anyone else could in a lifetime. Keep your chin up, girl! I promise He is faithful. 💕💕💕

      Alyssa praying here as well.😊 Sure He hears you! You just have to have faith. In fact, Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, "..Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing is impossible for you." God bless you, dear!

      Alyssa Hi, sweet Alyssa. I am so so sorry to hear that you're going through. Quite honestly, it stinks.
      I've been there. I've wondered why in the world God wouldn't answer my prayers about my mom. I know that that was one of the hardest things for her too. There were so many times I felt like God wasn't listening or had forsaken us. I cried. So much. I hid. So much. I wanted a huge sign that He was still there, and I never found one. So, I stopped praying for a big sign and started praying for even the tiniest glimpse that he was still there... And I found it. I saw how God brought doctors and caregivers into our lives. I saw Him in the smile my mom had every day, even though she was in pain. God gives us even the tiniest little glimpses that He is there. Scripture says that He speaks in a still, voice, not a loud thunderclap!
      Here's a verse that always ministered to my mom: "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." Matthew 10:29-31.
      You, Alyssa, are of much more value than the tiniest sparrow. You are so lovely. I can tell by your message. I just know that God is still there for you right now. ❤️

    It's man who allows suffering, not G-d. Us, the horrible in nature do horrible things through our free will G-d gave us, though G-d will protect us from horrible evils through our walk with him, it's still our duty to help and stop bad things and suffering. Pray for whatever suffering you are going through, he will give you a new perspective. Bless your friend who's been through so much.

    Hi... So I need to ask this question but before that I'm a new subscriber and I love your vids! Anyway. I feel my faith in god is slipping away. And I feel like I only believe in God because I'm scared ill go to hell. This sounds horrible but its the truth.. How do I overcome this feeling that I believe in God only because of my selfish reasons?

    • @FarAwayDistance
      @FarAwayDistance  7 лет назад

      Change your perspective on who God is. :) God is a loving, slow to anger, quick to forgiveness God. He wanted to save you not only from hell, but to have a personal one-on-one relationship with you. Think of God as a loving Father & a friend. That's how the Bible describes Him. He has so much love for you!! And He wants you to do life with Him. It was not just about saving you from hell, it has always been about having a relationship with you. He wanted one so badly with you that He was willing to take our punishment for us and die so that we didn't have to. That is who He is. He is love. :)

      Jacob Hein I have seen so many people in your situation and almost all of them didn't look to God in there doubt. Definitely, Go to the word of God and pray. The Bible says, "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." I believe that you are so brave to open up and look to Godly counsel. You are on a great track to coming closer to God. In your Christian walk with the Lord, you will go through up and downs in your faith but I firmly believe that if you hold steadfast to the word of truth, God with walk you through this stuggle.

    • @FarAwayDistance
      @FarAwayDistance  7 лет назад

      It means that God cares so much about us because He pays attention to even the little sparrow. So since He cares for the birds that much, He cares for us humans even more than that. Infinitely more than we could ever imagine.

      kayla turpen Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus, so Joseph nor anyone else could have been her father. It was what we call an "immaculate conception" because it was through the power of the Holy Spirit.

    I like her positive attitude, but she is being so positive that she is saying some weird things. Like that she is thankful that god spared her family when the tornado struck. God made that tornado right??? It's like when you are robbed on the street and the robber didn't shoot you but did take all your stuff. Would you be thankful to the robber? No of course not. You can be thankful that you are alive but its weird to say you are thankful to the person who did bad shit to you. And even if you bring up other good occurrences it's still weird. Imagine if your father would hit you time and time again, but every time he does he also buys you icecream. Would that be a healthy relation you'd be having with your father. NO! Start thinking and questioning god. You suppose to have gotten your brain form him so start using it.

      Daan Schipper That's a hard question. Sarah if you see this you should definitely jump in! First I just want to say Sarah is a super bubbly person so she is always smiling!! And her joy comes from Jesus - It's not based on her circumstances but on who HE is.
      But the thing is - usually when we go through times of suffering it's because of other people hurting us right? Rape, murder, divorce, etc. those things are from other people hurting us. And I know those horrible things happen because God gives us free will, and we live in a sinful, broken world. So Sarah's story is a bit unique because it would seem like no person really did it all to her. With the tornado though, it happened out of season and was an extremely deadly one for our area of the country. Scientists think it was a result of human caused climate change (which is causing more and more frequent and deadly tornadoes out of season and in season). So I look at it and can see it as a result of sin & living in a broken world, because we humans are the ones who have caused climate change to occur. But the thing is - no matter what or who caused it all - God is able to bring GOOD out of anything bad that happens. Whether it's a person who caused it all or not. (Look at how He kept everyone safe, even her dog - who literally got a perfect nook formed around him that kept him completely safe the entire tornado)
      He sometimes does use trials to test our faith in Him (look at Job in the Bible!), to strengthen our faith in Him, to help us to learn all we really need is Him, and much much more too that I could keep going on about that we couldn't learn if not for really tough trials. It's hard to see on the surface, but He is good. All His ways are good too. That's something that's really hard to learn until you've experienced a life with Him and seen Him work out beautiful things from the dust.

    • @dnschppr
      @dnschppr 7 лет назад

      first of all, if god is all knowing then why does he need to test us. I'm not too familiar with the bible but in the book of job jacob's faith in god is tested when voices in his head tell him to kill his son right? that doesn't sound like a test of faith to me. it sounds like a test to see if someone is freaking crazy. soconly, there is no denying that there is 'evil' in this world that is not our own doing. think of babies dying of hunger and disease. so while you are so arrogant to think an almighty being finds you worthy of saving from his own evil's you think these babies are not.
      Also, free will is not something that is possible with an all knowing god that also created us and more specific, created our nature. when he supposedly made adam and eve, he must have known what they would do. if not he is not all knowing. so he know what they would do and still he made them in a way that they would "create sin". And last of all, you are cherrypicking when you say god is good because he saved her family including dog, but he is also good when her mother dies of cancer because now she is in heaven.

    • @FarAwayDistance
      @FarAwayDistance  7 лет назад +3

      Daan Schipper I'm sorry I across as arrogant! That's never my intention. So that's actually a different story - you're thinking of Abraham and his son Isaac. That's in the book of Genesis. And it was a test to see if Abraham loved God more than he loved his only son. It's a crazy cool story because God didn't actually want him to kill his one and only son but be willing to say that he truly did love God more than anyone or anything else in this world. That's one of the two most important commandments. (Love God, love people) That story is also a signpost to what God did for us thousands of years later. We can know He loves us because He was willing to give His one and only son for us to show He loved us that much.
      You definitely should read the story of Job! It's in the book of the Bible called Job. He goes through a crazy amount of things - and He still loves God more than anything else and trusts God throughout it all. It's absolutely insane to me. I can only explain it so much, you should give it a read!
      You're asking REALY good questions - trust me. It's impossible to get all of the answers because we can't understand God. But yes He knew we would sin and mess up this world, but that doesn't make Him any less powerful or all-knowing. Just like with any bad circumstance other people cause us, God is able to work good out of anything - even Adam and Eve sinning. For example, we couldn't understand just how deep and wide God's love is for us had He not Himself come down to earth to die for us on the cross. That couldn't have happened if not for the Romans crucifying Him / sin & evil being in the world. I'm going to try to find a video or maybe a podcast explaining these ideas because they're tough - and I am so glad you're asking these hard questions but I promise you that no question is too big for God. He cares for you & know that I do too.
      Oh and I almost forgot - with her mom dying, I believe He is good still. It's hard to see the good on the surface of situations - but He is good no matter what the circumstance is. Her mom is free of all pain and suffering now and is in heaven- which was the goal and purpose of her life: to spend the rest of time worshipping and living with Jesus in a perfect place. So I believe He is still good in that.

      FarAwayDistance my mom died when I was 4 years old . she had a wound and when she came in this country he wound was closed and the virus was in her body. after her death my stepmom came in my life . God showed me how I treated my stepmom that I showed little respect. knowing that god has plans and maybe we don't see the sunlight yet but behind the clouds it is still shining. I was angry with god about my behaviour that I only had my dad while I needed my mom the most on that age. Its the age that I see now that ppl are from the day that are born they are sinners .
