Excellent. Pie in the face Polka is killing me. I am going to try the backwards practice, where you start and the end and keep adding notes at the beginning.
My high school trumpet playing days are many decades behind me, but I can't tell you how much I enjoyed and learned from you in this video---and you are SO entertaining, too!
I totally agree with your technique as I am currently doing most of what you suggest. The only thing is that I don't allow myself to play past a mistake because I manage to keep doing the same thing, I just repeat the phrase I have difficulty playing over and over very slowly and I find it helps tremendously. I've been playing Caravan by Duke Ellington for almost two years and there's one part I cannot finger, no matter what I do!!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Such a huge pleasure! I think understanding the difference between the polishing work and performance practice is the key. Choose which one you are doing and then practice that. Learning to play despite the mistakes is really important. Sounds like you are doing a great job!
Hi Tatiana. Exactly what am doing now. Learning the Joy of the World. New and nice piece that I need to prepare for our performances in the coming year. Your tips are always helpful. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for reminding me how to practice more efficiently :D And I'm currently pracitising Bach Siciliano as I'll perform it in December, quite a coincidence I guess
Hi Peter, we are really excited. Can you wait a few more short days? We will officially get going on Wednesday. I just want to give others a chance to still sign up so that we can start the journey together! In the meantime, there is a bit of an intro video and you can start looking at the sheet music!
@@TheFlutePractice thank you very much, I have listened to this twice and no doubt will do so many more times. I am very much an auditory learner and found listening and playing along very useful. Hopefully one day these patterns will stick!
Je uitleg is duidelijk en ik heb hier heel veel aan. Dankjewel super. Heb al zoveel geleerd van jou. Blijf vooral doorgaan met jou video’s 😊

Thank you! I am so glad you are learning and hopefully you will be able to pick up some sort of instrument again soon!

Brilliant Tips indeed.
Don't rush to finish a piece with a scrappy skill.

Pleasure! I’m glad and hope it can help you. Excited about the upcoming course too 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Nice video. Thanks Tatiana. I took notes from it. Need to apply those phases and tips to improve my old "mindless" piece practicing.
Absolutely! Mindless practice is so easy to slip into but such a waste of precious time

Hi Tatiana. Could you provide a link to the video with practice techniques in different rythms please.
Sorry Doreen! I forgot to add it to the description. Here it is: ruclips.net/video/dfvUChgjOr0/видео.html
