Streetwise (1984) vs Jonathan Bree - City Baby

An edit I made of scenes from the documentary film Streetwise (1984) set to the song City Baby by Jonathan Bree. Streetwise was made by Martin Bell and Mary Ellen Mark and documents street kids living in Seattle. It was shot on 16mm film and is one of the great documentaries of the 20th Century. Streetwise is available from the Criterion Collection / Criterion Channel.

I find this all so heartbreaking. This beautiful song coupled with the footage of those homeless young people and what they had to do to survive. The young woman with the curly blonde hair was sadly murdered by the Green River killer. I hope the others faired better. ❤

Purely top end genius. I remember sneaking out late night and going to Sea center to score a bag back in like 98' 99'. I cant describe that feeling I'd get seeing the Pink Elephant back in those days It was pure magic. A LOT of change from 84' to 99' a lot of good. Even more from 99' to 2024 a lot of bad. A lot of friends are just memories now. I love Streetwise its near and dear to me this almost brought a tear to my eye.
