Disney Cars Collection 1 Amazing Mater, Finn McMissile, Lightning McQueen Toy Cars

- Can I build up a massive Disney Cars, Cars2 Lightning McQueen collection just like my Thomas The Tanks. In the last 18 months a fair amount of Disney Cars / Cars2 toys have been collected from my local charity shop. What I notice is these Cars toy cars do not come as hard and fast as the Thomas & Friends toy trains. You will see.
An amazing animated Mater tow truck money box. It's all singing all dancing action that's very impressive.

The Disney Cars toys are made to look very similar to whats seen in the Cars animated films, it's something that Thomas & Friends tend to be slack with. One big problem I see across all the Disney Cars characters is the lack of character names on the toys, some had no copyright dates as well. I made a point of not knowing the character names in this video! The Disney Cars franchise has an almost endless amount of characters in only a few films. Character names on toys is very important and thats something Thomas & Friends tend to do very well.

From my experience, Mattel toys rarely have dates and the die casts only have their year date on the packaging. Try to collect the original diecasts from 2006 if you see them. The first wave Lizzie is worth A LOT of money. The best quality merchandise definitely comes from Mattel. The piston cup racers are the most interesting to collect and some are very hard to find. Those wind ups are from Mattel and the Flo, Sally, and Fillmore are from McDonalds in 2006. They sold them in Blind bags in the UK, because they made a green and yelllow variant of Ramone and had them as chase variants of the purple Ramone. Back then, I was 5 or 6 and my parents spent a lot of money on the mattels and the McDonalds toys. Very good review! Keep it up!
BBARevolution5 OMG, so a 2006 Model T Lizzie in standard die-cast is rare. I also had to gulp when you say the best comes from Mattel, it's the total opposite with Thomas & Friends toys. Anyway the McD toys are cheap as chips, here in Oz you can buy them without having to buy the blasted Happy Meal. I'm pretty sure any serious Happy Meal collector knows this little trick.

The orange car with the big back tires is named Snot Rod. The toy when you pulled the rip cord it would actually go backwards. I got it for my brother when the movie came out back then and he loved it.
Hey Leo, that Luigi keychain you talked about, and asked if theres a McQueen, there actually is. Its poorly documented though.
I think that The King is based on a 1970 Plymouth Superbird. It's an American car from the muscle car era, and they all have the streamlined design and the characteristic rear wing/spoiler.
They were really popular race cars in NASCAR in the 1970s, and I think that The King's paint design is based on the car that NASCAR driver Richard Petty (who I think is The King's voice actor) drove back then.
YLW Pyro Thanks, I have been reading up on Richard Petty. Put it this way there is so much to read because his race record is utterly amazing. Possibly one of the worlds greatest sports car drivers. To be honest the first I heard about this driver was on the TV show American Pickers in relation to a blue number 43 wrecked car door.

Yes the king is a Plymouth fire bird (or some thing bird) I know lot about plymoth is technicly owned by dodge.
there's something so eary watching this guy's old toy reviews, maybe its nostalgia but man it's somewhat sad to look back on.

The cars franchise had some of the best screen to product adaptations in the toy industry in my opinion. It's not just because it's easier to render cars than humanoids. They're genuinely well made and well thought out toys.
adoboawesome I absolutely agree, Disney Planes have done the same. It's weird as some argue that this is NOT important in toy design (Thomas and Friends classic example) but I think taking a little bit of extra thought to make McQueen look like the film car makes these toys stand out. My only gripe is some of the Cars playsets were a waste of time, yet one was the most epic toy I have ever had the chance to play with. The other very curious aspect to Disney Cars is many toy companies have have delivered toys to the franchise, and all seem like nice looking toys. Thomas & Friends need to dot the I's and cross the T's before signing off on Thomas designs I feel.
Very true. I believe our favorite blue engine needs the kind of respect he deserves. And... budget. There are alot of great mattel brand thomas products out there, but all these little snip its like all the plastic on the wooden railway toys and the sparsely detailed wagons from the motorized engine two packs (I've forgotten the name) really poke holes into thomas.

Awesome video! I loved both the cars movies and I think the toys are amazing, but like you said I wish they'd put names and year dates on them so people can learn more about the cars franchise. I can't wait for episode 2 :)

Wow that Mater is awesome! The diecasts cars toys are the best in my opinion because they're nice and detailed. I've got a ton of those. Lightning McQueen is very hard to find, I agree. I had alot of the old Disney Pixar diecast cars the first one I had was mater and later all the other characters (even some of the minor characters). through the years I have forgotten alot of the names of most of the characters in the movie but I knew alot of the characters names when I was young.
Yet I still love Disney's world of cars straight til this day.

That Lightning McQueen with the huge wheels isn't a ripcord. I had one at around 2005-07. The back wheel broke XD That squashed up Dinoco car was from a series with a couple themes, like Minis. I have a Lightning Mcqueen with army patterns and army goggles. it's really nice looking!
Also, did you notice that Mattel make Thomas AND Cars? It seems that the poor Disney movies get decent details while classic brands like Thomas gets absolute crud.

I think that fake The King is meant to be a knockoff version of McQueen. I have seen variations of Mcqueen with The King style prints and paint.

The mcqueen and orange car (snotrod) are from series called ripstick racers fromm 2006 to 2007
The finn and blue spy car with guns ( Rod torque redline) are from 2011 or 2012
The pullback luigi i think is another mcdonalds toy but i'm not sure
The dirt covered king and the little black (lizzie) are from a series called mini adventures which is a bit like the thomas minis as there several varations on the characters and different series
The king is exclusive to a playset called the drive in dragstrip which came with a dirty mcqueen as well
Lizzie is from a series called raditor springs police department

idk if u have caught up on ur disney cars details yet, a lot of characters come from real people who also did the voices on the movies, such as Darrel Cartrip in the movie is real life former nascar racer Darrel Waltrip. The King was done by legendary nascar driver Richard Petty and so on. My autistic grandson is a big collector of Disney Cars and a lot of the different sizing and shapes has to do with witch track sets they are compatible for. Like the brown wheels and bottom on The King in ur video. Just as note Draven (my grandson I previously mentioned) watches a lot of ur videos. The only thing he likes more than McQueen is Thomas
