- With Disney Cars 3 film comes all new Cars toys. Lets investigate the Cars 3 diecast Lightning McQueen that can easily be classed as a classic toy. One is a mud covered Lightning McQueen marked as number 15 (Chester Whipplefilter). The other is a very curious one because of what's been changed. Is this just a weirdo toy factory design change or is this an insight into a new Lightning McQueen that will be seen in the Cars 3 movie. Many people will not notice this change but it does have one major advantage. BI know this change in design will set the Disney Cars fans of fire as now one likes change. Now I'm wondering are all the classic cars characters going to be changed to conform to a Hot Wheels play experience. I know my audience will explain all. Cars 3 is scheduled for theatrical release on June 16, 2017 in the United States, alongside Pixar's short film, Lou.
Lightning McQueen, typically referred to by his surname McQueen, is an anthropomorphic stock car in the animated Pixar film Cars (2006), its sequels Cars 2 (2011), Cars 3 (2017), and TV shorts known as Cars Toons. The character is not named after actor and race driver Steve McQueen, but actually Pixar animator Glenn McQueen, who died in 2002. His design is inspired by a stock car and "a more curvaceous Le Mans endurance racer," with "some Lola and some Ford GT40.
Best place to buy these toys is AMAZON, it can be tricky finding them in ordinary retail stores. Lightning McQueen variants can be highly collectable and difficult to find.

New CARS 3 McQueen has a 95 under his headlight because it is a real headlight, and it has to be under it. Mattel thought Mcqueen from CARS 3 was 1:55, and not 1:64, so they made McQueen as Chester Whipplefilter the 1:55 scale.
the reason cars 3 McQueen has the 95 below the headlight is in the first film they were stickers but since cars 2 mqueens headlights are real so it is for safety

The reason why the number 95 is not on the headlights is because in the movie Cars 2, they gave him actual headlights. The 95 on the sides though. I’m not sure why they changed it to flames.

Oh no you did go for the bit coin! It will fluctuate so much that if you just sit on it and watch it very closely you should see profit eventually. Take a gamble mate if it drops to 300$ cut your losses and take your cash back but it just might go to 600$ or more who knows? that's the mystery of bitcoin

My guess is; the reason why the new Cars 3 variant of Lightning McQueen in die-cast form could be an early prototype that Mattel released early before the film's debut. Probably they'll just replace the shell and repaint it as the final version of the Cars 3 variant.

The weird and wild part to this toy is there are so many variations of McQueen diecast it's not funny. I only have a small number Vs the total number of variations. Some are metal, some plastic and some very abstract moments of flash scenes in the films or shorts. I think some are literally made up just to sell another toy. For me it's really difficult to get my head around.

easy,
mattel owns hotwheels and the cars toy licence
they know that most kids have one or both the toy lines
and instead of having to invest in pricey playsets for the cars line, that might not sell as well, they might as well save a bit of cash and make the cars line compatible with their widest selling car based toy line.
the amount of hotwheels tracksets that already exist is phenomenal, so if the kids who already own many hotwheels sets can use their cars diecasts on the hotwheels tracks too, that means more money for mattel in parents buying the same cars characters over again so their kids can play with all their mega tub of diecast vehicles instead of only the ones that fit the tracks,
but then again, it 'could' just be a coincidence ;)
I'm 17, I'm not sure when I first watched it but I didn't know it came out in 06' , damn!

Hey Leo ive heard Vicks Decongestant 'Vapo Rub' is hated by spiders- i was wondering as its so similar in texture to vaseline if you could try and apply it the same way or test if it has any affect on the redbacks.
Vapo Rub is quite expensive, I would need a whole factory's worth to solve my problem.

I now see the reason Mcqueen is more skinny. I believe it’s because since at the time this McQueen was produced a lot. And by making him skinner it would be cheaper o make since less metal and plastic is used.
Don't forget the new flames on the side
Some of my other Mcqueens have flames on the side. One problem is there seems to be hundreds of variations of McQueen..perfect to collect.

I've been thinking about collecting eventually just because I have so many lightning McQueen items already that I'll be keeping from my son eventually lol. anyway, very nice! I'm jealous
Thats only the tip of the iceberg in my McQueen cars collection. I have many more no one has seen year. Some are really trashed from loads of play, and thats a good sign to me.

Not yet. One thing I noticed was all the new Cars 3 toys basically sold out at my local K-Mart. The only character left was Mack. I'm trying to find more McQueens to do a teardown of the car to see exactly what's going on.

My only die-cast Lightning McQueen that I picked up at a 2nd hand store cracked and broke apart, the metal parts feels a bit brittle. Glad I didn't pay £5 for it.
And btw have you got your hands on any Blaze and the Monster Machines toys? They're pretty cool.

I think Lighting McQueen's redesign for the Cars 3 toy has something to do with the story of the movie, I believe he gets rebuilt after his big crash
