We hope you enjoy the first ever Steven and Marko review since Dan finally let them both out of their cages at the same time. Let us know if you want to see more of this dynamic duo
it's not a "pointless, edgy remake" at all bro, clearly you have not seen the film. People like you who get upset that an old film or IP gets new content is inherently more pathetic than remaking beloved films. All human history has been repetition and remakes... stop being butthurt! a new film does *NOT* damage an old film!!! you are just a snowflake getting worked up about something that should not bother you. You must live a sheltered asf life fr
You guys forgot the part when a crow landed on the final bad guy at the end of the film and started to peck their eyes out then it cawed "Don't forget to like and subscribe to Burgunbeerd...."
The black tape was because he doesn’t heal if he’s not on-task. He was originally supposed to lose his powers immediately after Skank dies (which is why he kills him last)The whole “hurt the crow / destroy the man) thing was an afterthought (likely a reshoot to work around Lee’s death)That was also why he had to rescue Sarah without powers. His task was done at that point.
Yes, although the tape also works as off-screen self-harming, which is why he has the tape in the original comic - only he can hurt himself. It's implied that he shoots himself to be with Shelly at the end of the final book as well.
LMAO -- either Brandon Lee's ghost was involved at every single step of this film's production, from development hell to filming to editing to the current public reception, as a sort of chaos demon and was laughing his arse off the entire time ... ... or the film didn't even need Brandon's ghost to ruin it, since it thoroughly ruined itself from the beginning. Less cheekily: the analogy of "Brandon Crow is to Heath Joker as Bill Crow is to Jared Joker" is so perfect. I can tell this remake is hot garbage on my own, but would have never thought of that analogy to explain it.
"If im hard to love, love me harder" Lol, i just got a flashback to my abusive, rapey ex. He said shit like that to me all the time. Literally told me "love me the most when i deserve it the least". So to me, only bad people say corny narcissistic shit like that. Im glad i didnt watch this movie. Sounds like it was made by psychopaths.
Right? A person with decent intentions would say the exact opposite: "if my complicated psychology becomes too much for you to handle, then you should save yourself and gtfo. I won't begrudge you for it, because I don't want you to suffer on my behalf."
I really hate the relationship in the new one, they aren't lovers, they are partners in lust and nothing more. The have sex, shoot up, and not much else. Even the DmC game that gets compared had a relationship where two characters bond over trauma realistically, slowly, and believably. Which is saying alot considering how much womanization that game does lol.
People really over explain or under explain the original crow when it comes to the whole relationship eric shelly stuff. The reason the original works better is because those flashbacks are from his POV and you feel his emotions as he remembers a long loving relationship with his lover, and anyone who has ever loved and lost someone can relate to just having endless memories of their lost loved one and thats all you need. we as the audience can fill in the gaps with our own mind. So we dont NEED to see 30 minutes of a rushed relationship. Its better to show us glimpses of flashbacks and memories of a long loving relationship because its far more effective, not only is it relatable which allows the audience to become invested emotionally, but its more effective logically, its the only way to really get the message across that this was a very long strong relationship that cant be rushed into 30 minutes
Personally, i have gotten to a point where, if the original writer or creator is not involved with an adaptation of their work, im not going to watch it because unless there is a reallt good reason for it, it tells me that those making the movie have hubris and no respect for the man or woman whose work graciously gave them a career. The ungrateful behavior by arrogant hollywood people will not be supported by me.
The Crow in the book did NOT wear a mask. The first concept drawing from O'Barr shows a mask - in the book it's his pale white corpse face with black makeup on it. The movie gives him a living skin tone but adds white facepaint to the makeup.
I gave the movie chance yesterday…I could not start to like the main characters at all…it was so weird…and can we talk about how they tried to put really cool older songs into this movie but none of them fitted the atmosphere? It failed so bad…damn
At least with borderlands it was an original idea that was never made into a movie before. The remake of the crow was not only insulting to the fans and original 94 movie but an absolute insult to the man who died for that movie.
I thought this was good I feel as if this situation is a little like the morbiuse situation I liked morbiuse I thought it was a good movie but morbiuse isn’t a great character and has his limits but for every single person to not like it just because of Jared Leto’s performance in a different movie and the reason this is a lot like the crow situation is because when 1 person says it they all do
I think the og crow works because it wasnt angsty hot topic teen. It worked in the gothic rock subculture without the sell out phase or fake subculture nods its like pile everything you find non traditional let it cook deal peopke do now vs being in the moment and understanding intention.
So what are your thoughts on the possible cancelation of doctor who? It looks like Disney does not want to give them any money. they are happy to stream it, but not pay. I hear Gatuwa has not renewed his contract. I for one say let Doctor who die.
@@heavysetmedia1904 honestly I'm not shocked to hear it at all. The deal was announced back in 2022 while Disney was greenlighting everything and just throwing money around. But then Bob Iger came back a few months later and seemingly wants to save as much money as possible. It's insane that they even greenlit 2 seasons and shot most of it before we had even seen an episode. The ratings weren't horrible but I've seen $100m was the lucky number so oof. I personally think Doctor Who thrives more as a low budget show anyway where they actually need to rely on writing instead of spectacle. I think it'd be a bit dangerous for it to die but I also don't love it's current direction. I'm torn! They'd need to retcon the current to be season 14 if it were to go on hiatus
Lionsgate back at it again with another FLOP! Surely making movies hasn't gotten harder and somehow it's more financially viable to produce this never ending slop or something
I just saw the original Crow for the 30th anniversary here in LA. I also have the recent steel book. The Crow and Dark City are fantastic films. I’ll grudgingly may watch this if it’s free streaming somewhere in the future. Doesn’t look like a film I would want to actually purchase 🤪🥷
Dan had never seen the '94 Crow before seeing the new one and he said he would rather watch Borderlands 3 times than be put through the new Crow again!

I thought it was showdown in Little Tokyo not Big trouble in Little Tokyo
Until now I wasn't sure that Steven and Marko weren't just the same person having a bad hair day occasionally
That old guy sitting and brushing his hair had me laughing

RTD took it as free reign to do what he wanted not what the fans wanted or the show needed

ive seen it and i love the original i dunno why everyone hates the new one its just a different adaptation im glad they didn't just copy the original

It’s my understanding (I could be wrong) that Lionsgate was only the distributor, and wasn’t involved in the actual making of the movie.
