Regarding this, youtube will adjust the volume of your videos depending on their loudest points. So if you have a loud noise it will make the rest of your video extremely quiet. I suspect this is due to how many videoes used to randomly play extremely loud distorted sounds in the era of ytp and mlg clips
This video is like the Elden Ring lore video equivalent of those images designed to look familiar, but be impossible to make out in any detail when examined, it's great.
FYI it's a myth gold doesn't tarnish. It does under certain chemical reactions. And the color it changes to when it does tarnish? Purple Interesting, no?
>:3 gonna be talking about that in my next video, but yeah 100%! gold is so conductive ductile and malleable that it forms a wide variety of nanostructures, and that comes from the surface decorating itself with nanoparticles due to the relative uniformity of corrosive dynamics (i forgot to add this because the next video's about the color "red", uh, it turns red! to be more accurate it turns bright cherry red first, then ripens into more of a wine reddish purple)
To be abundantly clear (sorry the music kinda drowns out my thesis statement), the thesis statement is: "Gold Comes From The Scadutree; The Erdtree Stole It" on the basis of: "All Life Seeks To Dissipatively Adapt, Which Requires A Driving Force, Like Trees Seeking The Sun", for which I use the cited paper to prove that point out in such coarse-grained terms [generic; lacking in specific descriptors] that trees can be proven to also be worms, and vice versa, solidifying the cycle of death and decay into Order itself as the Rings. These Rings, so described, could never escape the cycles of Abundance and Rot, as they'd have to continually find new golden trees to enshroud, or otherwise would have to fundamentally undo the Original Sin of Marika having fed herself [possessing the kindness of Gold, without Order] to the Elden Beast [the incarnation of Order] in order to produce what we refer to as the "Golden Order". Miquella can then be shown to be shaving away at these shared facets, down to even forsaking the emotion of love by which they were known and with it, the deep purple hue found juxtaposed with gold inside the Elden Beast, resembling the excruciations of the Hornsent Inquisitors in the process. This is confirmed by Miquella's final lines, relating to wishing for a gentler age, which brings us back to the Kindness of Gold, but without Order. Unalloyed, if you will. Miquella, in other words, intends to perform the same Sin (and does so successfully, by all accounts) but without any actual flesh to feed to the Beast, in the process seemingly removing Order from Gold and restoring the original Spiral that aimed to climb all the way to the heavens straightforwardly. With all that, it should be clear why the Scadutree was left twisted and disOrdered by the extraction process, like a used-up lemon rind.
I think this video is getting at a headcannon I was starting to fall into, in a smarter, more reasonable and gentlier spoken way, but I haven't gotten to the dlc portion yet in the game and need to come back to piece this together when I wont spoil anything. This is so interesting though, oh my god. I do believe you are onto something.
Now thats the kind of lore analysis I am looking for, can't wait to dive in. Similar to how interpretations of the lore in shin megami tensei are rather empty without reference to cybernetics!
"Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon" The Japanese word for the colour of onyx, shikkoku, is a homophone for a word meaning fetters/shackles; appropriate for evergaol wardens. Also, their phallic profile may be a play on the word "penal"
Hmm, this was very unexpected. Definitely one of the best videos in explaining what Elden Ring is about. Bravo 👏 There is definitely a heavy physics influence in the game. Nice to hear presentations about the subject I get stuck on religious interpretations. I often think of Radagon as a "red dragon," and love his association with the Astrologers. That he, maybe as a disembodied spirit, forsaw the arrival of the Elden Beast in the stars. That is to say, love the description of Marika as the "fruit of a tree" who fed herself to a great serpent. I love the "fairy tail" feel of DS2. I know the Iron Keep elevator can be divisive for lore implications, but really cool that you added the elevator. Sweet Shalquoir is one of my favorite characters
oh my yes, I'm glad you mentioned Radagon and the astrologers! that's going to be a part of the "Red" video which i actually wrote before this one... and realized i had an entire other video's worth of context to chew through before i could even broach the subject! also DS2 is just flatly one of my favorite games and i privately refer to Elden Ring as Dark Souls II: 2 all the time lmao. that intro alone just stands so far afield of any of the others! you've reminded me that one of the videos i've intended is about Silver and that is going to actually include just a really strange number of cats, including Shalquoir! that one'll be the "Blue" video, respectively, because that's the color nanosized silver takes on in colloidal solution and/or stained glass windows. It's also anti-microbial! People used to keep their milk from souring with a silver coin, I could go on for hours and probably will when I make the video lmao thank you so much, I worry a lot about how well I balance the physics and religion and I'm glad you liked the video :3
@jenny_azoth Glad you see significance in DS2 and that intro video. I remember, after playing through ds1 through Elden Ring, replaying DS2 and being blow away by the melting mother and child and the old woman weaving threads of fates I've wanted someone to make a video on "cats" for the longest time! I make an association between "fairies" and "cats" in soulsborne. Very, cool. Love that it is blue. The series of videos on colors sounds amazing.
My brain last night: "Let me check if there are any new Elden Ring lore videos before bed." Also my brain: "Wtf did I just watch?" I loved this video. The most unique perspective I've seen on this game, yet. Personally, I'd be more interested in hearing you expand about the idea that these characters feed themselves to the serpent when they enter the Gate of Divinity.
@@DoctorPecker hell yeah! Thank you so much, and rest assured that worm guy will return >:3 Next video whenever I can get around to it will be about red and gold, and that dovetails nicely into a theory I have about the role of aqua regia in this world model considering the discussion of alloying and gold
I subbed but please reupload making the music quiter and cutting the intro fluff. I took the time to read your thesis and it was really amazing and i feel, solves a lot of lore questions people havent realized yet. Good luck!
Ok~ I love this hekin video. You have a very soft and easy to listen to voice. Either I am not nearly intelligent enough to understand or your mind is very jumbled mess, maybe both. Followed and Subscribed. I hope you continue to make videos and stream.
Obscure scientific papers? Rambling about the binary fractal nature of the universe? Brain worms? All in one Elden Ring lore analysis? It's more likely than you think!
Interesting takes! Too bad that the video doesn't correspond to what you're saying. You talk about evergaols and the worms facing different directions - show it! :D Instead of Midra, show us Miquella :)
From 4:00 onward it's basically impossible to hear your voice over the music rising and there's no CC, so I'm sure you put a lot of time and effort into this video but it is unwatchable
Very interesting video and you seem lovely, but holy shit you need to de-ess your audio. I really want to watch but I'm actually getting a headache from how ear-slicingly sharp every other syllable is. Wish you the best
