Grew up in Basildon and started going (clubbing) in Southend from the early 90's. Tots, etc. Have some great memories of Southend, the high street (Keddies?) Nice vid. Subbed 👍

Just happened upon this. I'm from Detroit Mi and lived in Southend for 10 months back in 95-96. Great times and great people. Still hoping to make it back one day.
That would of been the time i was there 😊 I'm sure one day you will make it back for a visit. A few things have changed however there is lots the same as you would remember. 😊
Born in S O S, i used to do a milk round when i was 9 around Priory Park for Unigate. Bmx jumps in park and conkers everywhere, left for brighter pastures in 84 to NZ. 54 now.

Great to see the local area, we are fellow motorhomers living a few miles up the coast in Leigh on Sea.
This whole area from Leigh through Chalkwell to Southend and beyond to Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness are great to visit especially when the sun is shining. There are loads of fantastic pubs, shops and restaurants but the big draw is the seafront. It's brilliant to walk or cycle along and there's plenty of great places to stop for a drink or food. Yes it's difficult to park but there are a few CLs about if you didn't fancy parking overnight on the street.
Keep up the good work, really enjoy your vlogs and looking forward to seeing where you two travel to next.

Many years ago ...98 i think as i was getting ready to leave the RAF i did a course at Southend , computer maintenance was there for a month , fun times :)

I live in Southend on Sea. I was only saying the other day that we need MH friendly parking to encourage more visitors. My boys went to St Marys, they're aged 40, 38 & 36.

Great Vlog Thank you. Like you my husband originates from Southend so we found this really interesting. We were thinking about visiting and thought the Gas works park up on search for sites would be ideal but maybe not for overnighting.
Thank you and great to meet someone else from the area, I didn’t go up as far as Southchurch park if I’m right in thinking that’s where the gas works park up is near so it’s worth checking out. If not a side street will work just difficult along the sea front. There is some CL’s around if that suits better. Happy travels 😊
The gas works (seafront) is for just normal parking - No overnight sleeping in the vehicles - The nearest to the seafront is Western Esplanade (beside the Genting Casino Westcliff)

Rendezvous Casino - Permanently closed.
The wasteland held an arcade and 2 pubs - A mysterious fire helped with the demolition.
The car meet-ups still happen even though the police try and stop them.
Adventure Island - Owned by the Miller family (Stockvale Limited) since 1976. It closed for the season on 12th Nov this year
The "Esplanade" as in "Lemonade"
The 3shells lagoon -This is for swimming in, it's a tidal pool (if you are sensible though you wouldn't) as it stinks and loads of people have cut themselves on the rocks and shells in the lagoon itself.
Thank you for your comment and information i did wonder if the 3 Shells was a tidal pool however looking at it i wouldn’t swim in there either. I heard the Miller brothers sold Adventure Island thanks for correcting that. 😊
