Thanks Laura. I think the covid lockdowns were stifling times for some but provided others with a rare opportunity to try something new, including music via social media. Guitar was my choice, and while I'm not very good, the experience has made me more appreciative of the work and contribution musicians make to our lives.

Covid lockdown was an excuse for me to buy far too much gear that I really never needed. Kept me from going crazy for a few months. Still don’t know enough guitar chords to join Status Quo!
I've had very much the same experience. I started taking online drum lessons in 2020 at age 55 after never having played before, and even with practicing almost every day, progress is slow! I've always had great respect for skilled musicians, but now it's grown many times over.

Thought I'd commented with some background about myself.. was there a problem?
Edit: not to worry... briefly, written songs all my adult life, but only joined first band at 30; decades of day jobs while getting a couple of BBC Intro live spots with two bands; only went full time at 48, got an album out (see my channel) most songs played locally but that's about it. Upshot? Absolutely keep at it whatever your age, but don't wait to start doing so.
