The fact that he hated the transition of New Slaves is unforgivable.
This album needs a few listens after re listening to the rest of his albums or you need to go through a particular period of your life to understand it. Totally normal for a normal person to not get this album or even dislike it. I thought it was his worst at one point and still believe it’s in his bottom half of his discography. I think it’s a good album though

@@getsilenced3434 I think you just can't generalize any artcraft like you just did, I loved it even at first listening, and I was probably 15 years old, so... it's really a cae by case thing, there'll be people that will like the artcraft since the first time they consumed it, and some people will just like the same artcraft after a few times of consuming it or not even like it at all ever, the point is, an artcraft cannot be defined by itself in my opinion, it's always about the interaction and experience the individual defining/reviewing that artcraft had with the artcraft, when you will give your opinion about any artcraft (and other subjective pieces/products that promote an artistic sensorial and/or narrative inevitably subjective experience) it's always about both (the individual and the artcraft) by the means of the experience the individual had with the artcraft, and not about one or the other alone

Yeezys is such a legendary album. everything about this album was so perfect in my opinion. every single detail was placed with clear intention. SO many stars had to align to even make this album possible. Life without this seems like it would be meaningless.

every song is in a minor scale (sad music) except for bound 2 wich is in a major scale (happy music)
on sight introduces yeezus as a mad selfish character with a big ego, the sample we hear in the song is to represent that yeezus has peace in him, he just needs to find it
his egotistic behavior continues on blackskinhead and i am a god until we get the outro of new slaves, another moment of peace, but in the outro we hear that hungarian wich talks about everything being wrong until a woman arrives, that makes yeezus think about his past with women so he tries to get back with his ex rejects him, in im in it yeezus goes back to the club with his egotistic character but realizes he needs a woman and a family.
blood on the leaves talks about a woman who loved him just beacause of his fame, that takes him into gulit trip were he thinks about the mistakes he made and the fact that he isn't able to find someone who loves him for who he really is, so now yeezus is not that egotistic character anymore but he decides to go back in the club (send it up) like he used to, but here he finds kim (bound 2) "what you in the club on a thursday" so he's finally found the woman he was looking for and he's now happy again, MASTERPIECE

When I first heard this album it blew my mind, so different from anything I expected him to do accompanied with his billionaire bravodo
An important thing to remember, and I think this will help a lot of people who are trying to get into this album, it’s to come at it from the fact that it is in fact, a concept album. Probably the most underrated concept album of all time, with the character of Yeezus just being a version of Kanye himself. I also highly recommend Dissect Podcast analysis on the album as well.

Listening to this album again and seeing your friends confusion to some of the context shows how meta a lot of Kanye songs are. Like with blood on the leaves. Not understanding the breeze sample comes from not having contextual knowledge of Nina Simone strange fruit, or in bound 2 when he said can’t get spunk on the mink “damn what would Jeromy, romy Rome think?” He’s refer to the Martin character Jerome the pimp. You’d have to just have pop culture context to understand some of his meta metaphors.
