Great video! It's an Orangutan spear fishing in the photo you're talking about, and they think they could possibly be entering the Stone Age, not the Bronze Age. Not quite at metallurgy yet lol. Maybe one day. Either way, love you're guys content.
that thought is scary. an orangutan is easily able to move around weights of around 300 kilos. thats around 4 regular humans at once. now, imagine an orangutan in armor, using a club....
I love your channel it’s one of the most relatable things I’ve seen in a long time. It might just be the middle-aged me but I really appreciate your work keep it up I want to see more 🤙
You should really watch the full documentary of this. It's absolutely amazing. Sad, terrifying and beautiful. Worth the watch. This video is not the full thing and is more of a summary of it.
This might have already been mentioned, but in case it hasn't, I just wanted to make sure everyone knows chimps and monkeys are entirely-different species, so no cannibalism is taking place:) Actually, chimps are more closely-related to humans than they are to monkeys. Do with that what you will. lol Oh, and highly-suggest checking out the doc "Chimp". It's a Disney film narrated by Tim Allen and the various chimps are ascribed different characters, in a sense. Family friendly, so a good watch if you have kids. Tells the touching story of one particular baby champ named Oscar. Moving, beautiful , informative, and funny:)
Yeah Monkey is kind of a weird term anyway. It's basically slang (not scientific) for any Primate that still has a full tale and is typically much smaller than any of the Great Apes that we and Chimpanzees are apart of. The scientific terms for those wondering are simian or primate by the way. That's why the argument "that if we come from Monkeys why are their still Monkeys" always make me cringe. First off we didn't come from Monkey we came from a now extinct ape. Second no one who ever explained evolution while actual understanding it ever said we came from Monkey. (Edit) Evolved from Apes not came from, but most people know I was talking about that already.
@@jessem.5867 Bonobos are a distinct species of chimp. Are you saying they're superior to the common chimp? Or, are you saying you really enjoy preppy clothes? lol
Watched some of this awhile ago also and thoroughly enjoyed it, glad to see you guys looking this direction of content. Another one I had watched around the same time was about lions. I think their group was called the Mapogo or something similar. Really enjoyed watching that as well.
I find it interesting that before it showed the chimpanzees killing, the guys thought they looked wise. Then afterwards it changed to a "cold, dead eye'd stare". Fascinating how action colours perception.
After thousands of years of evolution humans haven't evolved all that much after all. We as a species are still just as violent and brutal, if not more so, than our bipedal cousins. What does that say about us?
Dave meant the chimpanzees were said to be entering the Stone Age, not the Bronze Age. However the chimp in the photo he referenced didn't discover how to make/use the fishing spear, he mimicked local humans. Still, they have learned to use sticks like utensils to get ants/insects, so the idea still applies. Fascinating.
Three English people with a Manchester accent who have a podcast talking about Chimpanzee society ,monkeys in the news etc. Where have I heard that before ?????????
One to watch if you enjoy documentaries is 'lions of sabi sands' basically a group of lions that turn into the mafia of the big cat world, well worth a watch- bit too long for a reaction but you can still catch it in your own time. Think its on here as well!

Chimps eating monkeys isn't cannibalism. That's like a human eating a monkey.
Never mess with Chimpanzee's ive heard gruesome stories they can easily tear your flesh from your bones with their strength alone.
