    New Haven, CT group. Lead singer David Fisher quit the group when he went off to college (all of 20 miles, to Wesleyan University in Middletown) where he formed the Highwaymen, who had a huge folk and pop hit with "Michael Rowed the Boat Ashore" in '61. Vinnie Giardina replaced Fisher in the Academics.

    My favorite version of the song, others on RUclips seem slower? I wonder which tempo is original?
