What's amazing to me is how you come up with SO many fantastic song ideas, and then burn them up on equipment reviews?! The amount of talent and work it takes to write these songs, master and record all the parts, mix the song etc. must me huge. Anyways, the stuff you come up with always blows me away, you're an amazing musician Pete. cheers
dude you literally do the best reviews every time i watch one of your videos. So glad you make videos and its great to hear from someone who's an expert!
Awesome video, I am sold on Suhr guitars and Amps, Also awesome -awesome guitar playing Pete. Over 50 years of Guitar playing for me. Thanks for posting this vid.
Pete - killer demo of showing the potential of this amp with pedals. Really helps the rest of us out in trying to achieve different sounds at home and locally. Thanks as always!
Hi Pete, i just bought the bella thanks to your great video, and i must say, i couldn' t be happier with this amazing amp !! After years of searching I finally found my holy grale pedal-platform-amp. I can not thank you enough for all your great video's that helped me so much with finding the perfect gear for me. Thank you sir and rock on ! :-)
I finally got to play a suhr s style guitar in seafoam green and I can see why players like them. the neck is like butter to play and the resonance, tone and balance of the guitar are awesome
Holy Cr@p, Pete. That was double-take worthy. I had to rewind the video to give a second spin of the opening cut lead section. Amazing tones and inspirational playing (as usual). Well done, sir!
Love this amp. It WILL be my next purchase. Love the way you completely broke it down Pete, and as usual, absolutely and TOTALY dig your music! I strive to play as flawlessly as you my man!!
You were squeezing some MEATY tones out of that thing! Excellent review and playing, as per the expectations when I see you've uploaded a new one! :) Thanks for putting your heart and soul into every one of these things !!!
Amazing!! That was like watching a beautiful structure being built on time lapse video !!! that was sweet.. Love the way you put it together Pete, masterful as always.
Thanks for sharing your gifts. I bought a Corso as a result of your video. I am inspired to attempt to play along, where I can, to your clips. I like the flavor you bring to your videos. I wanted to share a laugh. At the 12:00 mark of this video, on my RUclips player, my mouth popped open and for the next 11 seconds I didn't breathe. I looked over at my guitar stand and just started laughing.. Thanks Pete..! I needed that today.
pete's so good, i used to watch your videos all the time looking for cool pedals and stuff but since i got my rig pretty much just the way i want it i haven't been on in a while. btw a VOX ac15 with an EP booster and an OCD for a clean boost with some punch is just one of the most rocking things i've ever put together and it was your videos that really helped me understand the most important thing about the tone is the amp your using. the pedals are just some really nice enhancers but your core tone has to come from the amp. PEACE!
How does this amp sound at lower bedroom volumes right around talking level? Thinking about picking one of these up but I was concerned since there's no master volume how loud it might be at home
Pete Thorn You are very welcome. As a subscriber to your channel I really appreciate all the time and effort you put in to give us all this great information. We love you in Australia Pete! Cheers mate
Pete, your demos are great and give me tons of info in my search for amps. The licks only make me want to buy ore pedals and experiment. Have you ever done a demo of an amp that would be good for jazz? I'm not always into a lot of effects and would like to see if there are options you might like. Thanks again for the great work.
Great demo as usual Pete. I am currently working as guitar tech for Carl Verheyen and Supertramp, but if you ever need my services, feel free to reach out. I am an avid Gearaholic and slave to the trade. Ted
Hi Pete, Can you explain the process on producing the video? The way you are layering the tracks, overdubs without an headphone etc. It would be enlightening. Thank you.
May have a chance of scoring a good deal on one of these... but as you do, I need to connect the output to a reactive load to get the volume down both at rehearsal, small club gigs and at home... I have the UA OX for this. How easy will it be to connect the OX between the amp and speaker? I don’t find anything about this anywhere...
No prob, just need a speaker cable to go from Bella speaker out to OX, and for the internal speaker, because it has a short cable- get another speaker cable and a 1/4 inch coupler, so you can get a bit more length (from OX to the speaker)
Pete Thorn Thank you for taking time to respond. I have made speaker extension cords for reaching any amp I place next to my desk as the OX is placed on a shelf above my Mac for easy access so absolutely no worries then... have a nice weekend :)
Hey Pete, I see you have the Kemper in the back. Are you gonna do a demo on that? I'm really curious if that thing actually delivers. Great Demo by the way. Cheers.
Pete Thorn Great demo!! Thanks so much for demoing this thing! One question..how do you set the fx loop levels on the back? Leave them at noon or do u dial them in? Thanks a bunch.
Great video and playing (as usual), Pete. Love the amp, too. Were your drive pedals (Tim Pierce, Starlight Fuzz, and Archer) also in the effects loop, or just your modulation pedals?
Are you using the speaker into the camera mic ? or our we hearing some kinda of hookup in the back into the daw? That would be pretty loud with your ear right there. :) Thanks. Great stuff.
AS USUAL Pete Thorn, All of your videos are VERY informative and detailed and this one is no different. (One day i will be able to afford a SUHR amp and guitar. LOL) I am seeking advice on organising my Tones/Patches/presets. Would love to hear some of your ideas. I use a Gibson Les Paul into my POD HD500x Into a Mesa Boogie Mark IV. I dont have MIDI capabilities (so i cant change my amp channel from the POD) Can you do a video highlighting the best way for me to organise my presets and set up the POD for Live use? I am not sure if i wanna use all 8 foot switches of the POD for effects and use my amp foot switch for changing channels OR use FS1-4 for Effects, i.e. Screamer - Chorous - Delay - Solo Boost. And FS5-8 for Clean - Overdrive - Distortion 1 - (Metal i.e. Metallica) Distortion (Rock i.e. Tom Petty) I guess i'm looking for a way to set up the POD so i can use the tones of my Mesa Boogie Mark IV AND the Pre amps from the POD. (not at the same time of course) But just as an option if i feel for something different that day. I play everything from Tom Petty to Megadeth. I HOPE I"M MAKING SENSE... Nonetheless Great video anyway.
Hi Pete! This is an awesome video and I enjoyed it for the tones as much as the playing! I had one question and I'm sorry if it has been asked before: Where is the recorded sound coming from when you are doing the demonstrations? I'm not seeing a mic in front of the Bella, but the [amazing] playing I hear obviously matches your playing in the video. I'm just curious!
He doesnt use the speaker in the amp. He runs the amp into the suhr reactive load into his computer which has a simulated speaker, and this case it simulates the same or a very similar type of speaker.
Hey Pete, I am running the four cable method into the Suhr Bella (most recent model) with a Helix floor. I feel like I'm no longer getting the tube sound from the Suhr Bella. The Low, High, Bright, and Boost settings on the Suhr don't seem to do anything. I'm struggling getting a good tone from this combination. I would prefer to use the tone of the amp with distortion from the Helix and then Mic the amp up or run the amp through an attenuator. Advantage to the mic is mic placement, but other than that I can do either or. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Nice Instrumental, Pete. Luving that Vibe!! What DAW do you use? I use Presonus Studio One Professional, and 'sometimes', Logic Pro 9, as well. Excellent Demo. Man, I want a Lefty Suhr Fiesta Red Classic S Antique, and one of Suhr's Amps. Thanks!!
Hi I only use Logic, it's all I know! Eddie Van Halen asked me once, "so how do you record, Pro tools?" I said "no, I use Logic", he said "ah, I use logic too- I record analog!" Hahahaha I loved that
Pete thanks for the great demos! I am curious if you prefer the V60lp's over the ML's? or if you hear different purposes for each? The amp sounds great, what speaker comes stock?
+john lukehart Using an impulse response accurately mimics the speaker. Even if you were to mic the speaker cabinet there would be variances in the way each persons system will sound depending on the Mic setup etc. At least with an impulse response you can get exactly what you hear in this demo, it is repeatable, that is why Pete likes to use this method.
it actually has very little preamp gain (per John Suhr himself), but it also doesn't have a MV so preamp and power section all work in conjunction. Pete went into some of the nuance of using IRs on the gear page and the short explanation is that our amps are not as clean as we think they are, but we don't hear it as much in person as we do through IRs or a close mic. The Bella is spanky clean almost all the way up... mine doesn't begin to break up until around 8 and even then it's at most like a dimed Super Reverb.
Pete is the white Suhr S style guitar the same one you've been using recently with an added thornbucker? Also I noticed your s style suhr guitars have 21 frets is that a conscious decision for you?
What's amazing to me is how you come up with SO many fantastic song ideas, and then burn them up on equipment reviews?! +Shutup & Play - Guitar Tutorials Has he done a video on his process for creating these tracks? Is he using Native Instruments Studio Drummer?
He uses Steven Slate Drums most of the time
Thanks, I'll have to check those out!
This guy is one of the most versatile guitarist I have seen so far.
This is one of the coolest Pete Thorn videos I've seen! Great composition!
Thanks Jesse

I don't understand how you don't have a dozen different solo albums for sale - you seem to write an amazing new song every single day!
+SSVplus The green eyed monster is never becoming.
My suspicion is that Pete Thorn has a pretty good idea what he's doing.
I just love watching you construct songs like this. ...It's inspiring. In fact I'm enjoying this more than most music videos.

How’s the Bella after all this time?
@@barryprovost4597 now i have 2 of them in stereo :-)
@@wimcoppens73How do you like running a stereo rig with your Bellas? I have a Suhr Bella combo and really love it.
Probably the best I’ve ever heard him play and that’s saying something!

Same happened to me, first time I played one, I just expected it to be like a high end Fender. It was much better.
One of my best amps is now the Suhr Bella . Bought a 1/12 combo and have a head cab for it on the way as well.
Thoughts after owning for a bit? I’m strongly considering the Bella Combo, thanks!
@@barryprovost4597 I have the 1/12 Combo and I also bought a Head Cab for it direct from Suhr.
@@MrDavemiley Thanks for replying, almost nothing but good replies, went ahead and purchased! Can’t wait! 👍🏻
Just an update after 8 months, I am still loving the Bella, great character to the amp yet an amazing pedal platform as well 👌🏻
How could anyone give this a thumbs down !!!! Very sweet playing and tone Mr. Thorn. :)

That demo was great. Your playing is inspiring; makes me want to buy every item in the chain and play for days.
One of the best amps in the market.
One of your best solos I have heard you play Pete!
Love the dynamics on the intro song. So much tone!
Lovely display. Thanks for sharing. Love your imput and good demos.
You were squeezing some MEATY tones out of that thing!
Excellent review and playing, as per the expectations when I see you've uploaded a new one! :)
Thanks for putting your heart and soul into every one of these things !!!
Great tone Pete! Amazing 6L6 amp.
Always nice to hear your tracks.
Fantastic as always, Pete! Thanks for doing such quality demos.
Gorgeous tone and playing. If I hadn't bought the PT100 last year and about to order a Modern set neck I'd have one.
You did it again! Awesome in every possible way!
Christian Friis thanks Christian!

I was interested in this amp before... now I'm VERY interested. Great demo as ever!
I've been lusting after this amp forever lol
Love your playing Pete! Greetings from Alberta ;-)
Sam Coulson what up, homie :)
Sam Coulson What a coincidence! I have been meaning to subscribe to your channel since you made those videos with Chappers *ages* ago.
Your knowledge, musicality, and technique are spectacular, to the degree that now many of my favorite guitar tracks are "pedal/amp demo tunes" ... :)
tempjohn1111 Thanks man!
Great demo! Sounds like a 44watt 1x12 Corso. Which is of course, awesome.
IMO, impulse responses are one of the coolest marriages of old and new. I haven't played my amps through a cab at home in months!
Huge fan, Pete! Great stuff and really appreciate your detailed analysis, sir!
That was great. Some serious licks and fast and best of all.... Clean!!!!! Great crunch sound!!!!
excellent review, and picking!
You must have been really inspired for that intro.. It had a noticeably different flavor than your recent tracks. It sounded great!

I think that looks like a great pedal platform. I like to use the sound/character of my amp a little more and use pedals to compliment it.
Amazing demo. Hope you get royalties from all the Bella amps you just sold!

I don't remember exactly but I think ownhammers from the Marshall 2-12" collection- I think a G12H30 style or the Creamback 75, if memory serves
