These guys are the real deal , not only that, they are gentleman , but stay on their good side ! M.R. and V.V. are the people you want with you in a life and death situation , Probably the best body guarding instructions available! If I was needing a body guard and had the money the body guard would have to be trained by these guys point blank!
Ï love how people who are good at systema know just where to punch or how to pull a person to put them of balance. Knowledge of how human body works is essential to all hand-to-hand combat styles.
Modern systema is basically a result of the study of body mechanics utilizing levers pressure points etc. Most of it's designed so you kill or incapacitate in one fluid movement in less than 5 seconds, usually like 2s. There are very few instructors who learned directly from Russian military sources, where it largely originated. Fun Fact: General Kalashnikov, same guy who invented the AK-47, is largely responsible for Systema's evolution and was an expert himself. He supposedly was still instructing in his 80s. I have no idea where some systema instructors got the whole spiritual and 'old history' back story. This is a military fighting style designed to kill.
Yes good eyes. Its all about being relaxed, there is no tension in most parts. This is both to psychologically confuse the enemy and for you to feel less pain when relaxed.
I may be wrong but it seems a lot to do with pressure points and using techniques to create a lot of power in a short distance like the one inch punch. You can tell that some of those punches really hurt though, pretty cool stuff
@Lonewolf22334 Yes also the fact is, Systema is based on using the nervous system and it is a very fluid martial art which utilizes using your body as a almost a piece of string, it can wind and unwind in grappling and chokes, but there is huge ammounts of power in systema hits like punching and such.
To start, there are very practical things in the sense of the joint manipulations, vital point strikes, movement, and throws like any good martial does. However, there are things that you are saying that are a little outlandish. Those are things any martial arts practitioner will understand when they have felt the power their "masters" can generate. You may use a different word, I call it ki, like in Aikido. Thats one thing Systema focuses that makes it really great.
Systema is a very effective fighting style and quite practical in a real fight. BTW all fighting styles have choreography. In boxing has a term "shadow boxing" in which the fighter practices his/her own movement. Believe me if someone where to use this fighting style in a REAL fight the opponent would be in real trouble.
I am new to systema . I thought this video goes a great job showing the effectiveness of this art. I currently study Okinawan Karate (Isshinryu) and am interested in expanding my knowledge of different styles of martial arts.
I like how the use of aiki is present here, like in aikijujutsu or aikido for that matter. The use of energy is strong and stances are straight, erect, and comfortable. Kinda a mix of kali, akido, and other stuff.
i have been taking systema for years, and it is the most unique martial art there is. it uses very little force in effort, allowing the person attacking you to do all the hard work like bleeding, and bruising. instead of being offensive it allows you to bring people to the ground by simple pressure points, balance and mistakes. for instance a person trying to punch you by bringing his arm behind him is a huge mistake. that leaves him open and defenseless against a punch or throw.
You use the enemies forward momentum against them and transforming it into rotational momentum. It takes many hours of training to go with the basic systema punch let alone all the tosses and pressure point attacks.
@mitre991 I learn "the system" right now, when i first started i though it was just jumping around like a fairy and looking good, i didnt think it was overly useful compaired to other arts i have done but once you learn a few things you are very suprised at how good it really works. In my personal opinion its the best out there.
@Lonewolf22334 Well looking back I should have put some explanations in here. This video shows all different types of training. Systema trains radically different from other martial arts. It would take a bit to explain. I don't know specifically which part you are referring to but sometimes when people think that people are falling over at a touch it is just a training drill.
my father has worked with the large person (not to call him overweight) when he was in the army for 15 years. he is also trained in the art of systema, other forms of hand-to-hand combat, and hand-to-weapon combat. (unfortuanately he enjoys trying it out on me every now and then...) :P
@MrWizardandrew their touching key points of your body, certain key points that stop the flow of energy, which is basically a direct attack against your nervous system.
yeah been several years since I have read them...I think the ones you are talking about are the older ones before the newer writers got in to some really crazy stuff. The new novels are like the old ones.
for everyone saying street fight this street fight that. this is isnt designed for a bar fight. its made to kill or maim ur opponent. not exchange blows.
another thing that people dont seem to understand about these videos is that they are demonstrating the techniques but are also not aiming to seriously injure the other person on the receiving end.
So, I will be going to school next year to become a surety agent/bounty hunter, I will also get certified to be a bodyguard and I'm looking to become certified in 2 different fighting styles. Looking at Systema & Muay Thai, are these good choices for my career?
agreed Lonewolf..but what you are forgetting is that these guys aren't really fighting..they are TRAINING so there is an element of safety and breakfalling here. These aren't fights to the death
Quite a few, actually. Offered some before I headed overseas. Some folks I worked with on the West Coast so far (or know about): Kwan Lee in Seattle, Martin Wheeler in LA. Ken Good in SD. Contact Mr. Vasiliev to get more info.
This video contains many clips from different types of situations. Some of them are teaching, explanatory and drills. This video is just meant to to give an idea of what systema and systema training look like as compared to other arts. There are many facets to the type of drills they use. In some drills the opponent reacts how they think they would for the the other person to learn about body mechanics. There are varying levels of resistance. The clips are not meant to portray "fights".
my instructor once told us, that when he studied systema in Russia, their instructor used to send them to the street, to start fights with ordinary street people, because the best way to learn, is through real experience. funny. but even funnier was when we were taught how to attack with a knife. what we didn't understand is why would we need to attack an unarmed man, with a knife. let alone slit his throat . why on earth would we be those with the knife? anyway, a lot of fun.
Everything has a weakness. The body has many. If you're to kill somebody, you would prefer breaking his neck than tearing his arms of and make him suffer blood loss. This is, even if Systema denies it, study of techniques, concepts and the anatomy of the body - not only your opponent, but yours too - to make the movements as fluid, powerful and fast as possible. Do not force anything. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
The only system I've seen to take on multiple attackers in a real street fight was boxing. Every video I've watched of a martial arts was either an exhibition or a training video.
ive been practicing a hybrid kung fu style for aproximately four years and although it is much more effective than the acrobatic wushu you see everywhere, it lacks knife and gun defence, that is why ive decided to start with systema :) and besides, im a slav so why not trying out a slavic martial art :)
No they actually fall, because the fear of getting striken, they don't hold back in systema. And because it is a self defence art they don't sparr. And the movement is just following the normal way of moving, like on the street or in a metro. You just walk, not go skulking around looking for attacks. :D I actually tought as well that it was fake until I took a systema class.
Three Systema's masters in one video.
A pleasure!
this art is so smooth :)
Some of these techniques are like Daito-Ryu.
AWESOME!
These guys are the real deal , not only that, they are gentleman , but stay on their good side ! Systema truly reminds me of the free of movement we have in the Bujinkan ninja training. Great video!
Ï love how people who are good at systema know just where to punch or how to pull a person to put them of balance. Knowledge of how human body works is essential to all hand-to-hand combat styles.
They look so freaking relaxed when kicking behind
the gun to the head disarm at 2:08 was just amazing in terms of speed and efficiency
Sergei.. sounds like a name in hitman. AWESOME :)
Awsome superhuman strenght at its finest !
It is used now for most special forces in the USA and some of our own special forces teams are very interested in it !!! VERY EFFECTIVE!!
Love this style

great song, awesome art
awsome I like it!!!
definitely some Wing Chun type stuff in there.
Awsome Video
Cnctema is just so Awesome! People who hate it are jealous of the skills you need to train to be able to use it
Cool video!
Just found a Systema training club in my area, can't wait to get started!
1:40 is simply epic, would love to have a trainer :D

I love how Ryabko has a habit of just utterly manhandling people when he demonstrates.
systema is working, but learning slowly
Systema is a very effective fighting style and quite practical in a real fight. BTW all fighting styles have choreography. In boxing has a term "shadow boxing" in which the fighter practices his/her own movement. Believe me if someone where to use this fighting style in a REAL fight the opponent would be in real trouble.
Great Martial Art and a good Video ;)
Whats the songs name?
Systema is awesome, I highly recommend that you search for a class in your area and join it.
I am new to systema . I thought this video goes a great job showing the effectiveness of this art. I currently study Okinawan Karate (Isshinryu) and am interested in expanding my knowledge of different styles of martial arts.
It's "Breathe" from Jeremy Camp from the Album "Restored"
B)
I like how the use of aiki is present here, like in aikijujutsu or aikido for that matter. The use of energy is strong and stances are straight, erect, and comfortable. Kinda a mix of kali, akido, and other stuff.
my friend told me this type of martial arts has to do mainly with extreme pressure points, which would explain all of the falling limp ;)
actuallly this is effective for beginners
i just came.
systema bropaply greatest.
pretty good choice in my opinion.
1:21 Awesome!
Vladimir Vasiliev is a real Systema master!
I guess WC too!!
and what do you think of systema vs shotokan(the traditional part i mean)
It looks like Tai Chi but more awesome.

Very interesting system
This is how people learn it, you don't throw a new comer into a hostile military situation or even a ring.
You use the enemies forward momentum against them and transforming it into rotational momentum. It takes many hours of training to go with the basic systema punch let alone all the tosses and pressure point attacks.
this is awesome.... what i would love to know i what the song is?
@mitre991 I learn "the system" right now, when i first started i though it was just jumping around like a fairy and looking good, i didnt think it was overly useful compaired to other arts i have done but once you learn a few things you are very suprised at how good it really works. Impressive no nonsense skills... reminds me of Bruce Lee's 'economy of motion' principle.
its hard to take this seriously when all of the practitioners are wicked out of shape
Hardest training I have ever done in my life. Also some of the most talented martial artists I have ever met. Don't knock it until it's hit you!

:P
I wanna learn this so bad
I wanna do that!
2:05.. something a friend would do to you randomly.. lol
Systema rocks!
most of this video is "Vnutrennya Energiya" (Internal Energy)... which is a part of Sytema indeed, but not the whole thing :)
systema is amazing!
just did my first session today, just got owned and it was awesome
@MrWizardandrew
their touching key points of your body, certain key points that stop the flow of energy, which is basically a direct attack against your nervous system.
while I proceed to rip out quarter pound pieces of flesh with my teeth that is under 10 second the list goes on and on
nice :)
so quick, so smooth, so efficient.... >.<
In eastern, what martial arts that is most likely in the same type with this?
Jeremy Camp - Breathe Jeremy Camp - Breathe Jeremy Camp - Breathe Jeremy Camp - Breathe
yeah been several years since I have read them...I think the ones you are talking about are the older ones before the newer writers got in to some really crazy stuff. The new novels are like the old ones.

I've just started reading the new series

yeah no one is really trying to get hurt doing this, but it has to do with readjusting fluid motion into power
looks like drunken master + judo

somebody remembers Sinanju? Wow!
I wanna be a fat master!!!! respect!!!!

its all just about pressure points, i know the one at 2.28. very lethal! nice wideo man!
yeah,it seems useful!!...too bad there are not many gym of this martial art
It would probably be declared illegal or it probably already is. Combat sports have a selection(smaller or bigger) of moves that are allowed.
Jeremy Camp - Breathe
The song is Breathe by Jeremy Camp
Системы, в её истинном виде, тут и близко нет.
it seems kinda hard to believe but if this is what the soviet used to teach the Spetsnaz GRU you'd better believe it works
because many of moves are deadly
The only system I've seen to take on multiple attackers in a real street fight was boxing. Every video I've watched of a martial arts was either an exhibition or a training video.
Crazy
whats the music?
Systema _/ Russian style of self defence and nothing else can beat that...
1:37 omg its Charlie Sheen!!
ive been practicing a hybrid kung fu style for aproximately four years and although it is much more effective than the acrobatic wushu you see everywhere, it lacks knife and gun defence, that is why ive decided to start with systema :)
and besides, im a slav so why not trying out a slavic martial art :)
@mitre991 you would be surprised, they will work your balance and joints a way you couldnt even imagine
did you watch the video... this would destroy ANY street fighter.
No they actually fall, because the fear of getting striken, they don't hold back in systema. And because it is a self defence art they don't sparr.
And the movement is just following the normal way of moving, like on the street or in a metro. You just walk, not go skulking around looking for attacks. :D
I actually tought as well that it was fake until I took a systema class.
Systema is based on a lot of research that was done by the Soviet Army. I learned a lot about it from scott sonnon
マジだったらすごい
Hopefully you started reading the new ones...one of the original authors came back to write.
People should worry more about living in harmony and less about looks.
