I can't say that I have ever noticed my musical choices changing with the seasons but I suppose they do as it changes with my moods and moods can change with the season. I would be more inclined to choose Harvest than After The Gold Rush. I have never been a huge Moody Blues Fan, I like some of their songs but not many of their albums.
I don't associate music with seasons as strongly as I do food & drink--so, I suppose it's whatever I'm in the mood for while sitting on the patio with the fire pit lit, watching the sun go down, and sipping a fall-appropriate cocktail (e.g., a boulevardier). Nevertheless, I think I get autumnal vibes from the self-titled album from Timber Timbre. Unfortunately, I can only recommend listening to this one on CD or via streaming; I have the LP, and it's noisy AF.
Thanks for your additions. I'll check the album out. Shame about the LP - Have you tried cleaning it? New LPs often benefit from a clean to remove any contaminants from the manufacturing process.
@@soundmatters Yes, after watching channels such as yours I've developed the habit of cleaning new records before the first listen. Unfortunately, it's just a poorly produced LP (although I've heard that the newest pressings, including the clear vinyl editions, sound great). It's one of only two unlistenable LPs in my collection (which, admittedly, is a modest collection)--the other being It's Immaterial by Black Marble. It's a shame, as it's an excellent album and should be quite enjoyable on vinyl.
i like grunge in the Fall. I just picked up a Soundgarden album and I'm loving it. But it's also a mood thing so it's not like I'm going to limit myself to one kind of music. I'm really enjoying Bowie right now too .
Nice. I find I play more grunge in the autumn too. More “alternative rock”, I guess, but I love the smashing pumpkins mellon collie and the infinite sadness in the later autumn months
@@soundmatters what a coincidence.that is my wife's favorite Pumpkins album and I got it for her a couple of years ago before our local store closed. so good.
We have a heatwave here in Sweden this week so autumn feel a long way off…I just received the latest album by Abu Nein, they are a electronic/goth/post-punk outfit and this album is very dark so perfect for the autumn. I have also listened to Riuichi Sakamotos album Opus which is the music from his last concert, it is a piano only album recorded a few months before he lost his battle against cancer. Otherwise I don’t have any autumn greatest albums I am afraid.
It's funny how September can go - one way or the other! We've had an awful summer here. Those albums sound great - particularly the last one, despite the sad circumstances
Because a large majority of viewers are not. I used both terms. I don't think it's a big deal either way - we're here to talk about the music and the internet is a global place (as proud to be British as I am). Happy spinning

Opeth - Damnation
Released in october 69, my dad bought it on day 1 of my life, in november 69. The Beatles / Abbey Road. I'm still having it, playing it, loving it. 🧡
Nice! A true classic to have associated with a birthday. Happy spinning
Great idea! Finally saw a notification for one of your videos after a long gap. Thanks for all you do!

My favorite music for autumn is Jethro Tull. In particular, the album Stand Up.
Jethrow Tull is a great shout!
Songs from the Woods for me
@les6186 honestly, everything from Stand Up through Heavy Horses works for me. BTW, my name is also Les. Lol
@@bodhisattva3774 The 70s albums are superb. They lose me a bit with the later 80s stuff. You ever listened to their Christmas album?
@soundmatters yes I have, good stuff. I agree about 80s Tull.

I love Harvest too :) - but ATGR just a tad more. The Moody Blues I only have that one album of theirs. Happy listening!

@@Faustustopheles a 90s classic :)
My suggestions:
Type O Negative: October Rust (the 2024 version sounds GREAT), Current 93: Thunder Perfect Mind, Sol Invictus: In The Rain

Gillian Welch: The Harrow and the Harvest
Definitely William Fitszimmons
Thanks: will check it out. Happy listening!
All Things Must Pass - George Harrison
Why refer to autumn as fall. You're British. . .

I'm from the US and I say it both ways. it matters so little it's weird to point it out.
