- Mickey's PhilharMagic is a 4D film attraction found at the Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom theme park, Disneyland Park (Paris), Disney California Adventure, Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. George Scribner, best known for directing Disney's 1988 animated film Oliver and Company, directed the film. Mickey's PhilharMagic is a 12-minute show that includes 3D effects, scents, and water, as well as a number of Disney movie characters. It is shown on the world's largest purpose-built 3D screen, which is 150 feet wide.
At the end of the film, Donald becomes entangled in a tuba, which propels him across the theater and into its back wall.

the video does not do this justice. you need to see this in person. its the best attraction hands down in disney world. the screen emerses you in a 360 degree view, amazing effects, best 3D ive ever seen and amazing sound. i cry whenever i see this as its completely overwhelming in a good way. last time i was there i did it five times in a row. cant wait to go back

There's been discussion and rumors that when Mickey hits his 100th birthday, the studio is thinking of the possibility they go with the concept of "The Search for Mickey Mouse," meaning an original character of this movie goes out into what is called the "Disneyverse" where every single one of Disney's animated feature canon is shown trying to find him. Even though this has been done before in video game form, it has not in movie form (not as the main focus at least).
Interestingly enough, a film called the search for mickey mouse was planned to be the 50th animated disney feature, until tangled took its place. The plot would have been more or less the same, but instead of a new character, it would have been bazalo bakerstreet from the great mouse detective.

It almost happened, it was a canned movie called The Search for Mickey Mouse where Mickey was captured and Minnie hired Basil (from The Great Mouse Detective) to find him. It was gonna be a crossover but it was cancelled.
The Lion King part is so good.

I first saw this in 2005, then in 2009, and then in 2014
I cant tell how much I cried when I saw Peter´s shadow. I mean I´ve been a huge fan of him since I was a kid and watching and hearing Its just too beautiful!! Missing this.. Hope one day I can go back :)

If Disney made another Philhar Magic:
Alice in Wonderland- Donald sees an unbirthday cake and gets excited, and the mad hatter and March hare sing the unbirthday song. While the teapots bounce around, Donald tries to get back his runaway hat, until the March Hare smacks Donald towards the screen with a spoon.
Wreck it Ralph- Donald appears, pixelated, and sees Ralph about to destroy the building and Felix about to fix it. Donald sees that the hat is on top of the building so he tries to get up. A brick hits him on the head, and he falls down and crashes through the floor.
LILO & Stitch- Donald falls into water and comes up to stitch on the back of a board. Stitch is wearing the hat and Donald wants it, which stitch is unhappy about. When the roller coaster ride song plays, Donald gets knocked onto another board, and has to surf, until he is hit by a huge wave.
Winnie the Pooh- In the dark, Donald hears thumpering music, until the lights go on to heffalumos and woozles. As they scare Donald during the song, he eventually sees the hat on one of them. As he goes to retrieve it, the heffalump wearing the hat is revealed to be a bomb, which explodes Donald out.
The Emperors New Groove- Donald crashes into a dark room, and the lights come up to perfect world playing and characters dancing. Donald sees a pretty lady dancing and sees that she has his hat. Donald continues to try flirting with her and getting the hat back. Kuzco bumps into Donald and yells " he threw off my groove!" And Donald gets thrown out the window.
And then he falls into the end.

So surprising how much this aged well. Pop-out 3D has gotten disorientating for me over the years so when i went back to it, it wasn't as good as it used to be. But the effort put into this is admirable. I hope this doesn't go away for a long time

This had me in tears like a child. The feelings i had when i heard the songs /soundtrack of each disney movies i watched. You have to see it l!!!! Its worth it!

my family and i have disney annual passes. whenever we go to magic kingdom, this is the one attraction we go to every time because the line is always short! it's been my favorites that my family has loved ever since

I so badly want to see this attraction installed at the Disneyland Resort! Loved this show when I saw it back in 2010.

Wow! Cool! I love how they added Philharmagic to the trick or treat locations during the Halloween parties. Can't wait to view some movies there.
Philahrmagic played the 1949 Disney short “The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow” during Halloween.

I wasn’t there. There was a video that showed Philharmagic playing Legend Of Sleepy Hollow. I watched the short on RUclips. It was a great classic.

I would imagine myself if Disney made a newer Philharmagic:
The Great Mouse Detective- Donald is in Ratigan's lair, and Ratigan and his minions are singing, "The World's Greatest Criminal Mind and when a minion holding the hat, Donald chases the hat, and he and the Hat get zoomed into the air.
Meet the Robinsons- Donald is riding a time machine and sees Bowler hat guy wearing the hat, he follows him, and he tries to use a fishing pole to get the hat back, and then the pole flies into the Future skies, and Donald quacks up that he didn't win the chase, and then a time machine zooms by him.
Descendants- Donald meets Mal and Malificent while they are singing "Evil like Me, and Donald sees the hat on Mal's head. and he tries to get it back and then he zooms through the areas and pieces from the sculptures tumble over him, and the hat falls over a pile of dust.
Pinocchio-Donald falls onto a stage, while Pinocchio is singing "I got no strings", and Donald tries to sing the song, a group of Stromboli's puppets appear with the hat, and he tries to get it back, and then Donald gets tied to strings and coins come on the stage, and Pinocchio ends his verse.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow- Donald is alone in the Hollow woods, and everything is silent and dark. and then he uses a lamp touch to find the hat, and then he sees the headless horseman, and he screams like a girl, and he runs fast like a rocket, and he splashes through puddles while a sword is being swung, and then runs into an area where it is even more scary.
and then as he approaches another area, he zooms onto the end, as well as the hat, and Mickey grabs the hat just in time, and puts it on his head, and then Donald and the instruments land.

No, just no. I actually like the idea of the Great Mouse Detective and I’m all for Pinocchio, but Descendants??? Descendants is like if someone got the classic Disney movies and took a crap on then, it’s insulting to Disney. I feel like if they made a new version, they would use the newer movies: Tangled, Frozen, Moana, etc....
umm, pretty much all of those weren't very big disney films, except for pinnochio. so no, they wouldnt do those films.

I remember seeing this at a very young age, the only things i remember from it was Donald in the dark with Lumière, and the door opening for the walking brooms in the Sorcerer's Apprentice part of the show. I always wondered which park it came from! I haven't been to Magic Kingdom in years, and if i do come any time soon my family will most likely be on a packed squedule (like we are at every amusement/theme park we go to), so we will most likely not watch PhilharMagic or any of the shows...

This animation was 3D, not 2D.
It's the best thing ever to go to this attraction during Night of Joy. :D You have a lot of young adults watching it, and every time they segway to a new movie, you get a collection of cheers and hoots with whoever's nostalgia got hit the hardest from that movie. XD For me, that was the Lion King segment.

Ariel's Part To Me In This Is So Heart Warming

When I saw this in Disney Land, I feel like I heard Donald singing with the animals in I just can't wait to be king.

Went to Disneyworld for the first time in 10 years, and I was the only one in my family to remember the Donald in the wall at the end of the show. My mom, dad, and brother wouldn't have turned around if I didn't yell "DON'T FORGET THE DONALD BUTT!" XD I remembered that moment from when I was 6 cause I was stupid back then, thinking he'd ACTUALLY magically come thru the screen.
