No countries on earth spend as much money as the USA in the military, any countries who would invest like that into a ship would come up with something similar or better...
samymasta It is not simply money, I do not think you understand the engineering and industrial complex that is required to build one of these. There is only one shipyard in the US that can build one. So no, not just any country can build one, just because they have the money. Nice try, but an epic fail.

samymasta Really? Let's see, During the cold war the USSR spent just as much on military spending, and never came close to perfecting the carrier. China just bought an old carrier from Russia, because they do not have the expertise to build there own, as a matter of fact all they do is buy a few pieces of hardware from other countries and then copy it, because they do not have the ability to design there own, and they certainly have the money to buy all the engineers they want. The US has been perfecting the design of the supper carrier since WWII, it is not something you can just buy. Wow, that time lapse of the construction process is interesting. I lived onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) in that same shipyard, for several months as the ship was being finished in early 1987, back in drydock following the ship's commissioning and shakedown cruise. We enjoyed watching construction of the USS Abraham Lincoln, which was under construction in the same shipyard. I don't recall seeing any huge chunks of bulkhead being set in place like that. Fascinating! The other thing I found fascinating was being able to walk underneath such a freakishly huge ship when we were in the drydock during that time. What an experience, as a teenager seeing the world outside Wyoming for the first time, from the deck of such a ship. I wouldn't trade that experience!
I know it would never happen... but I would love to see a sort of "Legacy Cruise" if you will. Pavle Srbin Get a clue. The problems today are not the result of the USA. It is the result of the collapse of the European empires. Countries were formed, and land divided up by treaties after WWII, that the native people had no say in. People that hate each other where forced to share land with other groups of people that can not get along. Hence the Arab spring. You need to do some research into the history of the world instead of just blaming the USA, which is the easy and lazy way to go P.S. Blamming one group of people for all the problems in the world is how the Nazis came to power..
If I don't want to be a part of the one world order, where can I go to be free? Every Nation is nothing more than a human livestock management corporation. Is Iraq better? Is Afghanistan better? Do we have more of less freedom since 9/11? Where are things getting better? I don't just mean in your life personally. Halliburton's stock is up 3,000%... is that good? War is good for profit!
Jeffrey Harrison i dont blame the US for the problems, i blame the US for how it threats with those problems, and acts like it has a right to make some one-sided justice in parts of the world where countries are 1000+ years older than america and you can not possibly understand them
Pavle Srbin I do agree with you on one point, our government should talk things out instead of using sanctions, which never work and shoving our military might down other countries throat. Or actions are dictated by our allies, and what they want us to do,kind of like having a bulldog and sticking it on someone. My question is what the hell does 1000 years of history have to do with anything today, or your assumption, that because I am a U.S. citizen I could not understand your history. My grandmother and grandfather were born and raised in Norway, then moved to the USA, and are very proud of our Viking history, by the way we discovered the Americas way before the Spanish jerkoff claimed it. We celebrate Leif Erickson day, not Columbus day..I know all about your 1000 years of war, destruction, enslavement, genocide, hate, racism and empire building at the cost of all native people you would encounter that did not look or talk like you. The Conquistadors pillaged the entire American continent. By the time the United States became a country, 90% of the native people had already been wiped out by your empire. We are the result of all of that 1000 years of history. I do understand your history, very well. I could go on but I do not feel like writing a book, so I will stop my rant.
