I think it’s funny how people watch movies with murder, blood, sex etc just fine but can’t handle it and think it’s bizarre for a band to incorporate in their acts on stage. Songs are just stories. Some true and some not. Rammstein realizes that a large portion of their fan base does not speak/understand the German language. The theatrics are a way for them to connect with their audience to compensate for the language barrier. On stage they are playing their parts like actors do in movies and tv. When people realize that it makes it easier to digest. Art comes in different forms.
This particular song is not just about cannibalism. It’s about one cannibal who put out an ad looking for a willing participant to have sex with and later consume. Well someone answered that ad. The case was famous because authorities did not know what exactly to charge the cannibal with since there was so much video evidence that the “victim” was a willing participant. There were no laws to fit this situation because there was never a need to make one.
Sometimes it is best to not look up the lyrics to their songs😂.
I saw them last month and was blown away almost literally lol it was awesome stage presence and till being a writer and poet is cool af.
I was about to post this explanation as well about the true origin of the song but glad someone else did.
If you plan to make more Rammstein reaction, here are a few tips: Never, NEVER cut a Rammstein video . You need subtitles. Strong nerves. Most importantly, you need an open mind. What you just saw is relatively harmless

Armin Meiwes is German former computer repair technician who received international attention for murdering and eating a voluntary victim in 2001, whom he had found via the Internet. After Meiwes and the victim jointly attempted to eat the victim's severed penis, Meiwes killed his victim and proceeded to eat a large amount of his flesh.[1] He was arrested in December 2002. Naaaa. Not fully correct. It was the plan. Actually the plan was to "bite It over" (separate from the body) and then they should eat It together. However It showed you cannot get of the penis with teeth only. Armin did though trash both balls trying. So he fetched a knife. Turned out It was not sharp enough , so had to find a new sharper. They went to the kitchen where they fried It...with salt , peppar and garlic. However Jürgen Brandes (the guy that should be eaten) felt bad , got some treatment - and they burned the penis so hard, that was actually not eaten by them
