Born in Virginia 2004 and few months shortly after Grew up in a great town in Pennsylvania and Wawa has always been a staple of my existence because I've never been farther than Maryland since and have always had the Wawas around and mostly stayed in Pennsylvania and they are everywhere and just hold a special place in this region.
When I was young (about 7 or 8, maybe), my brother and I would always rush to the TV when we heard a Hoagie Fest ad. We'd tell our parents to rewind the ad over and over. My mom hated the songs because she heard them too much and my dad made a CD with 6 of the original Hoagie Fest songs on it. I still have the CD and listen to it from time to time. This was one of the songs on there. Very nostalgic :)
@@uberfuchs No clue were my dad got the songs from back then, but I think the original songs are on Spotify now if you scroll back far enough. Not certain, though.
I'm SICK of the NEW ads. It makes me think that hoagie man is hidden in a vault, being tortured instead of throwing hoagies down at the world. (of course the vault part wasn't real) Instead, they have CGI peeps doing random summer stuff that has NOTHING to do with hoagies.
Don't forget that Wawa has a strong presence in New Jersey, too! They're also in northern Virginia. Wawa used to also be in New York and Connecticut, but unfortunately, the competition was too strong.
I'm waiting here near Sellersville, Bucks County for public water to be installed to PA 563 (Ridge Rd.) & Lawn Ave. in West Rockhill Twp. just off of the PA 309 expressway. Wawa owns two lots at that intersection and the lack of public water ("wooder", in our Philly accent) is the only thing that's keeping a store from being built there. My nearest Wawa is in Quakertown, 5 miles away. The Quakertown, PA 18951 post office serves FOUR Wawas!
Willow, can we go to Wawa and meet the Hoagie Man! And have some hoagies and pizza? After all, summertime's here and it's Hoagiefest, and WAWA HAS PIZZA!!
@nhllover885 Sheetz is a VERY strong competitor that has the parts of PA that Wawa wasn't allowed into (primarily the Harrisburg area, and up North in Altoona) on LOCK.
I don't know who competed with Wawa up in NY & CT. QuickChek does a good job with their newer NJ stores - they even have self checkouts, unlike Wawa, which only has, at most, 3 of their registers open at any time. Unfortunately, they are expensive. In the the Lehigh Valley and Berks County, Sheetz (based in Altoona, PA) puts up one Hell of a fight. Sheetz is the one rare place that might be better than Wawa! That's one very hard thing to accomplish.
Ya can't get them anymore because they switched everything with stupid stuff. Bring back the old ads for 2013 or the next half of 2012. Are you with me?
@nhllover885 How dare you say that about Wawa. Wawa is where boys become men, heroes become legends, and hoagies become a staple of American culture. Hoagiefest=America, therefore Americans are born with Wawa patriotism rushing through their veins. Shame on you for this insulting comment on my country, self, and pride...
I worked at Wawa 12 years up until 2017. These songs still haunt my nightmares.
why is cookies and cream milk always out of stock
hoagiefest is man's greatest creation
For the customers…..

But you know that Mewio the Italian cat makes way better (and more cat-friendly) Italian hoagies and pizza! And besides, there's no Hoagie Man!
I have this song stuck in my head. So going for the italian hoagies. x_x
Folsom, PA--Store #1
Beatles and Wawa mixed together, works for me!
I work at a wawa, made hoagieman the nickname for a coworker and it stuck 😂
Parry gripp
People who like this: I recommend the song Lavender Popcorn by Scrugg (1968).
It's weird. I vaguely remember the first hoagiefest and has always been a thing on the side.

There IS a real festival, but the sale is the main thing.

We Can Work It Out, Strawberry Fields, Lucy in the Sky; any others?
@Tophat786 you can find the files on Wawa's website for free
Just make sure not to order any dream cream on your hoagie...
He needs a better name than "Hoagie Man"!

@nhllover885 It'd be so kick ass if it actually was a festival though(:
