    FAQ:
    Q: Where did you buy this?
    A: Bought this wood chipper at Northern Tools. m.northerntool....
    If you're near an NT store, they'll ship it there for free. Save a lot of $$$, since this thing is heavy; so you'll need a pickup or trailer.

    That’s the one I have. In mine the top hinges on the input hopper broke and I had to weld new ones on. I’m also deciding what to do about a trailer hitch. The latest powerhorse has a hitch but no electric start. That one looks like a clone of the powerfist.

      Thanks for watching. If you haven't found it already, I did a video on building a DYI hitch. Hope you find this helpful. ruclips.net/video/Rmnn7Ss1T7w/видео.html

    Got one based on your info, thanks. I just lifted off the whole crate top, it is not attached to the bottom. Going to grease both Zerk fittings, one is under the belt cover.

      That's awesome! Congratulations. Hope you get lots of good use out of it. Need to pull mine out and get to cleaning up a bunch of limbs left over from the big old oak that fell across my driveway back in August. Thanks for watching and for your comments. So glad the video helped out with your decision making process..

    Just got mine and noticed two things. 1- They're still shipping them with the wrong belts. You'll have to order the correct (shorter) ones. and 2-one of the set screws that help fasten the pully to the crankshaft was about to fall out.. .....A plus I don't see mentioned is that their "high altitude" kit supplies you with Four smaller main jets. Most high altitude kits only supply you with one jet to use above 5000ft or so. Their kit gives you four to use from 2 to 7k.

      Glad you found it helpful. If you get one of these, you may consider adding a trailer hitch to it. Very helpful. See DIY how-to ( ruclips.net/p/PL8T-iSUAEa2QHXJqeFqeHM5vu5Zfq0g8G&si=Rk7WBi2XMMDWb7uQ ). Thanks for watching and the positive comment. Pls also consider subscribing, if you haven't already. I purchased this model also. I am very happy with it. Made sure I changed the oil after each two empty tanks of gas. Did you ever find out what the extra studs and nuts are for? Mine has the same thing. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for your comment and I'm glad you like yours too. As far as the extra bolts, thanks for reminding me. I honestly got too busy and forgot all about them. If I find out, I'll post another response here with the answer. Take care.

      Judging ,ill assume that those extra bolt holes are for another model that has a safety bar and linkage etc...you got a "bare bones model " minus any bells and whistles that might be options on another build. Can't complain at under a thousand . I have a bad habit of removing the safety features in order to streamline my stuff any way. So for a thousand bucks you get only what is needed to throw wood. Call me dangerous but then when was a wood chipper ever not dangerous?

    Good stuff! I was wondering about how this style of chipper created the airflow to blow the chips out of the drum? With the ferris style chipper there is a fan welded to the wheel. But I don't see what makes the chips fly out on this one. Any insights there?

    • @twc-projects
      @twc-projects  2 года назад

      It appears just the high speed of the rotating drum itself is more than enough to blow chips out.
      In case you haven't seen these videos on the chipper as well, they may be helpful. Check them out:

      Haven't had the opportunity to use it in a while; been so busy with other things. Have received several comments from folks saying how much they love their's. It really is well built, so I expectbyears of good use, as long as I maintain it. Hope that helps.

      Haven't had a chance to use it again since the first time, but have a massive pile of limbs that I plan to get to soon. Will show more, and answer questions I've heard from others. Thanks for watching and asking. Check back in a few wks.

      Just finished recording follow-up video on how well the wood chipper works where I feed larger limbs through it. Should have it edited and posted by this Friday. Hopefully it answers questions and helps you decide if it will meet your needs. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I want wood chips and not mulch is that possible with this machine? I was thinking of getting one

    • @twc-projects
      @twc-projects  3 года назад

      I don't believe it is designed to change the chip size, but I will say what it produces is thicker than typical mulch; really is more of a "chip", like you'd get from chopping with an axe, than the stuff you'd buy at Lowe's for your flower beds..

      Same question. Just purchased this machine. When assembling I noticed the anvil is loose and needs to be tightened. Does anyone know the proper clearance between the anvil and blades?

    • @twc-projects
      @twc-projects  2 года назад

      Blades should fit as tight to the drum as they'll go. See this quick video -- ruclips.net/video/S_7SOiwZa1c/видео.html

    How big branches that machine shred before needs to slow feed rate by hands ?

    • @twc-projects
      @twc-projects  3 года назад +3

      I think around 3.5" slows it down. I use anything bigger than 3 for fire wood so don't know for sure yet. Will try it out in another video so you can see for yourself, and will keep video at normal speed. Thanks for your question.

    Is there a way to tow this behind an ATV?

    • @twc-projects
      @twc-projects  3 года назад

      That's exactly what I wanted too after dragging it across my yard once. So the answer is yes, but... See my video "12-Powerhorse wood chipper trailer hitch" ruclips.net/video/Rmnn7Ss1T7w/видео.html

      @twc-projects  3 года назад

      PS: Before I went the route above, I tried buying one from Amazon. However, had to send it back because it was way too small and too flimsy for the size and weight of the Powerhorse.
