Incredible amount of information that I needed to hear - thank you! I had Lasik done about 2 months ago. My left eye is perfect but my left is mostly blurry, but clear at rare occasions. So, I know that the vision correction is good, it's just that my eye gets super dry and causes my vision to be blurred. I used artificial drops (ex:Visine) but it rarely helps with the dryness. I'm considering having the plugs put in but I want to see how my eyes are after the 3 month period. Thanks again for the helpful video :D

Beyond artificial tears and ointments, at times restasis or steroids can help improve dryness after LASIK. If the dryness is also associated with poor oil production, treatments for blepharitis can help as well. Tear duct plugs could be another option for some patients. Yes, with LASIK retreatments, lifting the flap can cause more dryness, but we expect that it would improve with time in most patients. Although this can take months or longer in some cases. I hope you get some improvement, thanks for the questions.

Hi Doctor, thanks for the video! I had Lasik in 2011 almost 8 years ago. The only dryness I’m experiencing is when I wake up in the morning. The rest of the time seems fine. I use tear drops straight after waking up to alleviate the dryness. Putting in some eye drops when waking is a lot less hassle than wearing contact lenses or spectacles the whole day! I’m however quite surprised that the symptoms hasn’t disappeared after such long period. I have tried eye gel before going to bad as well but it makes my eyes sticky in the morning. Is there some other treatment you can recommend that might help with this specific condition? Thanks : )

Hello sir...I have a question I recently had PRK along with Topo Guided procedure done...the surgery went well...they had taken my bandage contact off at the 7th day as I expected them to...now for some reason the eye dr has noticed my eyes haven't healed right...there appears to be some scar tissue that's causing me to have foggy vision...he told me he didn't know what it was that he needed the surgeon to take a look at it. He prescribed me erythromycin ophthalmic ointment which in reality I don't know if it'll help with the corneal scar...may you please give me some insight. I see better than before the surgery but k still see foggy I can't see clear 100% im maybe at a 80% and the other 20 is foggy. Please reply or post a video. Or direct me to a video you've already done. Thank you.
It is possible to develop corneal haze after PRK which is a form of scarring. Usually this is temporary and does not affect vision much as long as it is mild. I don't think that we have filmed a video about it so it's a topic that we should be able to cover soon. I hope your vision is improving. Thanks for posting.

I am in my third week after the Lasik and seem to have developed under eye bags. That happened about ten days after the surgery, is it normal? Right now I am just on my emulsion based "dry eyes drops". I went to the first couple of checks after the surgery (the second day and the tenth day after it) and my doctor said that there is nothing to worry about and my eyes are healing well. Then I got these annoying eyebags (after ten days) and that I noticed happened right after I stopped using the anti-inflammatory, antibiotic drops. I was told to stop using them after they are finished and just keep using the "dry eyes drops".
