No halos or blurred vision but it is a lot harder to see entrances and exits to gas stations and some stores if they are not lit well. It seems like many roads are not well lit and maintained as much as they used to be. I occasionally have to drive at night and I get anxious about it.
I think a lot of it has to with all the new cars with extremely bright Led Headlights. The glare from these headlights is blinding to me and I don’t have cataracts or any other eye problems.
Im 25, last 2-3 years my ability to drive at night started to dramatically drop, it used to be that I loved and prefered night driving, even just 2 years ago. There is no halos etc, I seem to fail to handle high contrast - whenever someone from other direction drives by, Im nearly entirely blinded by the headlights. It looks pitch black besides the lights. Ive driven many times already on highway guided only by rear lights of cars in front of me, not seeing a single iota beyond this. Whats weird I asked around few friends, and it looks like within same years many different ages of my buddies (generally 20-30) have developped exactly same problem with varying severity. But oddly it become really bad at roughly same time. Might be coincidence, but... weird...
This has happened to me (38) recently also. Went to the doctor for assistance but he just diagnosed me with an astigmatism. Now i can make out the lights and virtually nothing else. It's scary and really limiting.
Same for me. Im only 21. I can't handle the bright headlights. Sometimes i even fail to recognize line of road cause of it and ends up driving through dirt when there are small turns.
I good eyes nd I can see at night. I went to the eye doctor, they said my eyes are good but when I look at lights it's a glare. I don't wats causes this ????
I can t see well in an environment with dim light. I have had it all my life. I had it at my right eye but now it s gotten worse at my both eyes. It happens almost every day. My problem is that i see darker with one eye and the light is red or blue. Then it moves to my other eye. I have also a thing i call "the spot" its a spot that is gray or black, its seethrough in the center of my eye. I can see through it but not so well, arround the spot my vision is normal. I take vitamin A and a medication called Myrtilene Puro, recomended by my eye doctor. It hasn t helped me. I had this problem since i was a child, now i m 35.
Glare and halos are a possible risk after laser vision correction. In studies, most patients preferred their night vision one year after LASIK compared to before with glasses and contact lenses.
Many thanks glare and halos and starburst are prevalent for me now at night I may add that I had radial keratotomy in the late 80s which probably has been the major contributor before the internet so had I'd been more illuminated I in hindsight not had any surgery to cap it off I've had 2 major pvds in both eyes giving large Weiss rings ' I am a complete ocular basket case.
Ah, sorry to hear about all the trouble that you have with your vision. Yes, I can imagine with everything you have going on with your eyes that the glare / halos / starburst can be bothersome. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have all of these... unfotantly I am only 35 ... Yup hard to see far at night .. good thing I have magnifying glasses lol they say its genetic but i beg to disagree .. I have sat behind a computer screen startimg at age 8 almost all my life
