When you were passing all those beautiful scenes when Joey was driving the boat it reminded me of my non-photographer Scottish cousins driving me around some of the lochs. It was everything I could do not to yell out to stop the car to capture some of those never-to-be-seen again Scottish moments. Loved the shots; magical!
The one thing that really sets you apart from many other photograpers that I know is your commitment to the image. It really comes out here and it paid off too.
Excellent video Gavin and quite possibly the best shots you’ll get all year. Those Cypress trees and the Spanish moss plus the “reflexions” are stunning.
Oh my gosh, if we had anything like that in Australia, I would be quite happy to pack the caravan up and travel 5,000 miles to take photos. I love the photos Gavin.
I waded one of those Georgia swamps all night with the Ranger School at Ft. Benning. I mostly try to avoid swamps ever since that experience, but you did get some beautiful shots with cypress trees changing color.

Gorgeous images Gavin. Yes, definitely try the bayou in summer before you move there. I walked into a woods one time on the bayou and was driven out by the mosquitos in just a few minutes, and I normally don't have a big issue with them, but they were ravenous. Maybe 6 mos. in the bayou and 6 mos. in Nova Scotia is the sweet spot. I really enjoyed southern Texas in the winter though. Safe travels.

Those aren't hip waders (I have a pair so I could take pics of my dog in the Potomac). Those are chest waders 🙂 When Michael was hitting you with the tripod it looked so real I could feel the pain. "Figure it out Mr. Professional" LOL. Thanks for the laughs. You did get some awesome shots. Yes, mosquitos can be really bad. If you don't move down south as Amanda suggested at least come back through again for a visit. Maybe you can catch that color at Babcock. I really enjoy this series.
Michael S.~ Be careful over there in that SF area. We went there once. Had to throw our shoes away before entering our home when we got back. Bleaching our eyeballs helped a bit too. Good sense of humor too Mike. I imagine you had better have one hanging around those Hardcastle folks...

I love the whitewashed looking gray along with the bright vibrant colors of autumn. A great contrast. Lots of texture as well.

Fabulous shots - you provide info re exposure but it would be good if you gave some comment on where in the scene you focussed - or did you stack?
