Great sound. I listened to the whole video. Can't believe I did, being it was info I already knew. You did a great job presenting and again, the audio was perfect to me.
Hmm...I have no need for it personally, but I think my SO could use that for her cooking videos. Already working on getting her to set up recording video streams directly to her computer, so having the video synced up out of the box would save her some time, and it would be wireless so she can still move freely. Appreciate the recommendation!
The clip on wireless has come along way! I got one on Amazon that also makes the studio mic I have and both are unbelievable! I got the dual version I believe for $99 and I sent back the Shure MV7B and the wireless Shure, the model number escapes me. I will eventually do a video on them. But Wow! For a third or a quarter of the price and works flawlessly with both. I’ll see if I can find the name here and let you know. It’s Chinese but I am so impressed! Great video because this stuff is important! peace
One thing to keep in mind is that this really isn't a wireless recorder. Even with the bluetooth version, you still record the audio directly to the SD card plugged into the F2 itself. Thanks as always!
And another sweet sleeper feature: it charges rechargeable batteries right in the device. plug and charge. freakin awesome. the app is pretty great too which allows you to track the exact time, battery and levels. (side use: plug into record players and record vinyl tracks).
It looks cool I’ve owned 6 or 7 Zooms but for that price maybe even cheaper you could get a P4 which is a Mixer/ 4 outputs, 5 tracks, ect. But I’ll look into it they also just put out 3 small mixers too so it’s too much options these days
Keep in mind that the F2 is only a voice recorder, and isn't intended to be anything else. So while a mixer with many different tracks and outputs is awesome, the F2 will probably be a better device for someone who just needs a compact way to get high quality recordings. Thanks as always!
Weeks later... What is the "episodic show" ? Could one also use the output to a wireless transmitter to the camera? -using the BT as a back up audio recording "just in case'?
I use the Tascan DR10,s -- when they need replacing, or I need an additional recorder, this would definitely be my choice. I really don't have any problems with the Tascams, but not having to adjust audio when out doing solo shooting is one less things to worry with. Good show!! Cheers.
Nice video man. I just scored a mint F2 for $60 on FB. Have you upgraded the stock lavalier mic. yet? I might buy the Sony stereo mic, ECMLV1. Can you tell me if the stock mic is a stereo mic or if the F2 records it in stereo? This will determine if I buy a stereo mic. Thank you.
Oh yeah looks like zZounds has those prices too, in fact most online retailers are matching it. $145 for the normal one and $179 for the bluetooth model, those are insanely good deals!
@@stevenblock2514 yeah the only benefit of the Bluetooth is to monitor and change settings of the recorder with the app on your phone I guess. Not sure what other features it provides. IMHO I've bought things with Bluetooth connectivity thinking it would be cool to control it but rarely used that feature. Lol
My normal mic is an Audio Technica AT-2035, which should definitely sound better as it's a proper studio mic running via XLR into my Zoom Livetrak L-12 mixer, and then treated a bunch in the editing process haha. The audio you were hearing from the F2 was just straight off the recorder, not bad at all for something that is barely noticeable!
@@FreeBeat Not bad at all. If the audio wasnt being compared right next to one another I wouldn't have noticed. For the price difference, the F2 is seems like a really good deal for voice. Your other setup would probably be better for recording music though.
It would be great if they made a version of this you could patch stereo instruments into. It would be great to just be able to plug in something and record. h1n I would pick up but I keep holding out for a newer device that has at least USB-C, and if they can make a more compact one even better.
Honestly as small and compact as the H1n is I'd just say go for it. True, the USB port is a bit outdated, but it's just such a solid device haha. Thanks for watching!
You can control certain elements of the device (recording start/stop and some others) from your phone. I've actually never used the Bluetooth features haha.
I have had a few audio recorders and my favorite is Zoom H1. Those run on a single AA battery for 5-6 hours of recording time. Has stereo mics built in, and records to wave or mp3. I record to mp3 as it is quicker to process. I use a lossless mp3 editor called mp3directcut, this can edit out parts, set levels and label all without having to re-encode(lossless).
Yikes... lost credibility mentioning Zzounds. Zzounds could never ship me a guitar or piece of gear that was actually new and not f'd up. There's a reason they do that "poor man's" financing... you have to be desperate to buy from them. Of course they would send someone like Free Beat new gear, wait until you try it though.
I've been purchasing from zZounds for over a decade (long before they started helping the channel out, and long before the channel existed) and have never had a single issue, you're actually the first person I've come across who's had any problem with them at all.
@@FreeBeat Not trying to be a jerk about them or to you, but it's true... I tried more than once and I think I ended up sending everything back to the them with the exception of a Hartke bass cabinet. The big one was when I tried to purchase a new Jackson Pro (kind of a mid-high tier model guitar from Jackson), it arrived dinged up and obviously not new... after the third one like that I told them I give up. They were apologetic and gave me a $100 that still sits unused. I play guitar, bass and enough drums to be dangerous, so I buy a lot of gear... believe me, I was more disappointed than anything. I do like and appreciate your channel... I started watching for the PO demos and tutorials.
Great sound. I listened to the whole video. Can't believe I did, being it was info I already knew. You did a great job presenting and again, the audio was perfect to me.
Great vid! I like hearing about all the equipment used to get the job done, not just the instruments.
Thanks!
You're most welcome. Thank you for the constant great content ❤

As long as she's okay with syncing the audio and video in post then it would be perfect for her! No fuss, just set it and forget it!
The last voice recorder I bought was an Olympus with micro cassette tape... but this Zoom looks amazing plus sounds good.
No cassette tapes on the F2, definitely a downside I forgot to mention :D

Zoom F2?
Im thinking about getting one of these now !
It's pretty great! I'm still super happy with it :)
this seems amazing for aspiring and professional content creators alike!
Absolutely, I keep discovering more and more content creators that use these for their remote voice work haha.

I will be announcing the show by the end of this month, there were a few more delays haha. And yes, you could absolutely use it that way!
Hi, I'm new to audio, just wondering, what is the advantage from this product compared to wireless lavalier mic when making video/vlog?
I use the Tascan DR10,s -- when they need replacing, or I need an additional recorder, this would definitely be my choice. I really don't have any problems with the Tascams, but not having to adjust audio when out doing solo shooting is one less things to worry with. Good show!! Cheers.

I haven't tried swapping out the microphone but I did just quickly Google if it was stereo and it does not appear to be. Thanks for watching!
It's actually on sale on Amazon right now for $179.99. That's a really good deal.
Just checked Sweetwater, they have it discounted until the 20th for $145 US!
@@stevenblock2514 Actually that's for the F2. The F2-BT is $179.99 on the Sweetwater site. So basically same price as Amazon.

What mic are you using normally? When you switched I could tell the difference and the other mic before you switched sounded a little better.

I brought one too and it is amazing I love the thing.
I got mine to solve my audio issues as the mic is in my helmet

The Zoom F3 and F6 are the 3, and 6 channel (respectively) bigger brothers to this that have XLR/line inputs and also feature 32bit float recording.
how do i take the audio from the zoom device and put it on my computer. please help I got it a month ago and still can't figure it out.
Take the SD card out of the recorder, put it into your computer, and transfer the files off of it :)
A sneak peak? How do you hide something that large?
How do you think it would be for recording clawhammer banjo playing and possibly singing at the same time ?
how is any better than zoom h1?. This is more expensive and also does not have built-in mics. Thanks for introducing the product though?
Never knew you you could loan from zzounds
What does the BT part do?
You can control certain elements of the device (recording start/stop and some others) from your phone. I've actually never used the Bluetooth features haha.

H1 captures too many stereo sounds, wind as well even with dead cat
I'm a huge fan of devices with standardized power cells.
I just got 2 of these. PROBLEM. Can anyone tell me why my audio sounds like it is clipping? I thought 32 floating could NOT clip? THX.
Has it been updated to be able to record line level in yet?
Cool, but how do you monitor the audio?
It has an audio out for headphones :) But you also don't really need to, since it can't clip!
Andy Bodger, nice patreon shout out!
Very nice device!
Absolutely!
what about the F3?
a more affordable version of the Tentacle Track E, but Track E is more pro
Does it has noise cancelling ?
No, that will be more effected by which microphone you use.
@@FreeBeat what mic you advise me to purchase?
can't record 2 channel (stereo) audio
Hmm...I could use one of these.
They're awesome!
It struck me as a bit bright, but that could just be me
Just bought this in white for 109 EUR from a store. The last one. xD

Why wouldnt you just use your phone?
Higher sound quality :)
