Thank you for this video! I bought the F2 BT and also noticed the problem with the volume. While looking for a solution, I came across your video. I now raise the volume in Audacity, but it's an annoying step more. Thank you very much for your honesty. Greetings from Germany
The f2 is tuned so that the included lavalier clips just before the ad converter clips. That is why the recording level is low. You can add fixed processing to get final audio, a limiter with makeup gain. That will keep the top in the rare case someone reaches that voice level, and normal level with be at proper output level and have good quality because the limiter will not mess with it.
I have to say, you're worried about your english but your information is great and you're getting your point across. I appreciate you speaking as well as you do!
I find that the LOGIC Audio effects available in FCPx do a great job... EFFECTS/AUDIO/LEVELS/LOGIC e.g. the GAIN effect add +18dB input balance 0 MONO ON brings the level up quite well
I use the new Beat version of Premiere Pro. The first thing I do with any audio from any device in "Enhance Speech" is so amazing. I too had audio from the F2 and it was too low. Easy fix in PP. Thanks for the video bud!
32 bit float recording is the issue with importing to video editor . Most video editors won't process 32 bit float. So you have to convert it to 24bit. it's a small price to pay for having a large dynamic range on your audio recording and not having to worry about clipping or setting your gain.
Thank you robbert for your informations. It’s really impressive that it doesn’t clip but I wished I could edit it in video editor in some weddings with a lots of recordings it’s a little annoying. Maybe someday … 😊
@@iamwannabefilmmaker The problem is that it slows down the editor because there's a lot of processing with 32 bit audio It really is best to convert it to 24 bit before importing it to a video editor. As i said before, it's a small price to pay for not having to worry about clipping..
Thank you so much for this Info another friend (Robert) told me about davinci! This is so cool. Maybe I have to try again davinci. And again thanks I appreciate it 🙏
32bit container means the audio looks smaller within it... oppose to the same audio being contained within 24bit , like looking at an image in at 32bit or 16bit... 16bit would look "louder" ... 32bit givs more headroom... the headroom difference is what you are interpreting as distance to acceptable audio levels. hence the requirement for gain in post, unless you record a rocket lol... Nice video, thanks for the notice about firmware updates...
ευχαριστώ! Good video, good English :) I have an F2, and it is one of my favourite tools right now. I am thinking of getting another. The belt clip is not that bad either. :)
Hi there! Thank you for your comment. I wish it had an option to Put the recorded audio +5 DB so I don't have an extra step to do 😁.. The clip Belt when I am on a wedding and in Rush because seconds matter it is drivin me crazy 😂 it's to stiff, to hard for my Taste. In General this tool is amazing you press one Button and it records the audio. I am ok with one I am thinking to buy something more like the sony 660 to Put it in the pocket of the groom but it's a little to expensive 180 for non 32 bit
@@iamwannabefilmmaker I found other alternatives to be just too big. For my RUclips videos I used to use a Zoom H1n with a lavalier, but it was too big for my pocket... Closest in size are the Rode Wireless Go II and the DJI Mic, they also work as separate recorders, but neither are 32-bit. Last two times I was shooting at an event (not wedding), I used the Zoom F2 and two Rode Wireless Go II transmitters as field records. As there were several speakers giving presentations, I liked the Rode WG II as I only had to clip it to their shirt or jacket and it took just a second or so which is great as at such corporate events nobody can spend several minutes on getting mic'd up properly, but of course those big Rode wireless mics look awkward.
@@ww1www I still use the h1n good vfm I like them ok😢they are huge 😁. At the moment I don't Trust wireless mics! Happy hear that the go II worked for you. I was thinking the dji but again I have Trust issues. Have you experienced audio clipping!with the rode?
@@iamwannabefilmmaker I use the Rode WGII primarily as a recorder not as a wireless. Clipping is possible on the WGII, but in reality I have not had any issues so far (but I use them in situations where people tend not to shout :) Actually, the other day , for the first time ever, I had a terribly clipped track taken out of the recorder. It turned out to be some conversion issue when exporting it in 32 bit float format. Then I exported it from the transmitter in 24-bit format, and it was clean.
Thanks for these precious informations. I just order the F2. I will update the firmware in first time. Your english is very easy to understand for me, my mother tong is french.
Your English is better than some English speaking people. Good job.

I had the same issues with the F2. I couldn’t upgrade the software for some reason. Your English is really good, don’t worry!
