Thanks for the review. When you're connected via bluetooth to the mobile app, can you still use the record button on the Zoom F2 to start and stop recording, or is that button also disabled when the device is connected to the phone? I ask because I like to be able to use my phone for monitoring only, I want to start and stop recording with the Zoom F2 button - not the phone.
This is an important question, and I'm sorry I didn't cover it. No. As far as I can tell, you lose all functions on the recorder when it's connected to the app. (Well, you can turn it off.) I'll do another video and cover this. Thanks for asking. I've sent an email to Zoom to confirm this, by the way. I'll let you know what they say.
@@honoluluhappenings5561 Ok thanks for replying, there are other RUclips reviewers which I asked the same question and they so far all say that the buttons can still be used. I suspect though that they're not actually testing it before answering my question but just making the assumption that those buttons still work.
@@PaulVoorberg I got the answer today from Zoom support: 'That is normal behavior. Once connected via Bluetooth, you have to use the app to control the unit.' We cannot use the buttons on the recorder once we're connected to a smartphone .
Thanks for the upload. With your test what was the distance you could reach before it disconnected? Roughly speaking, 5 meters, 8 meters, etc? line of site. Thanks in advance.
Sorry to be awhile replying. I couldn't find a way, so I emailed Zoom support & got their answer today - no. But they apologized for any convenience. :-)
Should be noted that the Bluetooth function does not support transfer of files, nor can the recorder connect via Bluetooth to a PC or anything else, except for the smartphone companion app. In other words, the only way to transfer files is to physically connect a USB cable or take out the SD card. This is very unfortunate, and annoying for being a device proclaiming to be "portable".
@@honoluluhappenings5561 Do you often format the disk? And the clock often drifts away? See, I don't believe so. And now your comment makes me wonder why you would even say something like that. Are you sponsored and therefore corrupt? I wouldn't think so based on how truthful your video was!
@@themartinandersson Hon, I format the disk after every time I use it, and while I'm at it, I set the clock. Am I 'corrupt'? Why would you even say something like that?
@@honoluluhappenings5561 Why would you format the disk after every use, and set the clock after every use? Formatting the device is supported via Bluetooth, so not a reason, per se, to use a USB cable, and I believe this may be the case with setting the clock as well? Either way, being "corrupt" (i.e. sponsored) was a question really, and something that could explain the absence of rationality in your answer. But like I originally wrote, the apparent truthfulness of your video makes that hard to believe. Which only, in my opinion, adds to the confusion.
It is very helpful for judging whether to choose the Bluetooth version, thank you!
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful.
Thank you for letting me know.
Thanks for this! Was confused about playback functionality. Helpful.
Glad you found it helpful.
Thanks for the review, I'm looking to pick one up to record the output of my picomic 2 Pro.
I hope it was helpful for you.

@@honoluluhappenings5561 Thanks
Thank you. Just picked one up and looking forward to use it. Do you have your "output volume" set on the "editor"...Do you have a suggestion?
Output volume is for headphones, and I haven't used headphones on my F2 yet.

My apologies, but I didn't test walking straight away.
@@honoluluhappenings5561 thanks for the reply. I appreciate the upload nevertheless 😎
Helpful. Thanks.
Thanks for letting me know!
If I don't hear any audio at all when monitoring or playing back, what do I do wrong? Neither with headphones, nor through speaker.
I'm afraid I have no idea. Please contact Zoom support for help.
IS there any way to change the name of the F2 in the app? i have 2 zoom f2 bt (one black and one white), and i would like to know wich i am using

Can you please try if it works with FiLMiC Pro (professional video recording app for mobile phones)
I'm sorry to say I don't understand how it would work with Filmic Pro. Let me know, and I'll try it out.
I also saw there was a 1.10 Software update. Do you know if we should update to it?
I have 1.10 on my F2, and I've had no glitches with it.
Hi, can you sync timecode from the app to the zoom f2 via Bluetooth?
The phone's time is not at all an accurate master for timecode
I don't have a way to generate timecode, so I can't answer the question.

It hasn't been that inconvenient for me, since I have to connect the USB cable to the F2 to format the disk & to set the time to computer time anyway.

Can you have more than one F2 inside of the app and if so what is the total number that the app can receive.
I have only one F2, so I can't provide an accurate answer. I suggest emailing Zoom support with that question.
no
can you see two recorders on the app ?
No. The phone connects to only one recorder at a time.
