In Virginia, we call yellow catfish "Mad Tom's".
I will look for them in this video, in Mn there is a smaller catfish that you sometimes get with a scoop of fathead minnows, my Gawsh if you grab them wrong you get stung bad enough that it can hurt you all day. I always figured they are Mad Toms, Maybe the same fish. These guys catch a lot of things that are not normal up here. Our DNR jacked a lot of our lakes and rivers with channel cats,. Maybe we are spoiled, but ain't nobody yet has figured out how to make them edible. Greasy walleye eaters, we hate our DNR with their idiotic Tiger Muskies, The only real Muskie is a Silver Spotted, They have destroyed our #1 premier walleye factory of a lake with their silly slot limits.
If you value a fishery, don't ever vote for a brain-damaged democrat. They are out there, and they have no idea what America means to most of us.

I got tired of losing crappie jigs so i measured 16" of line and put a 2" bobber. 😊❤ Now im less likely to lose crappie jigs. I may do this for alot of my lures, except for 1/8oz lipless crankbait.
Great video - best way to fish a river or lake that is deemed dangerous is to use a fishing life vest - I have used them for years and never needed it to save me, but ya never know! and I never ever jump off a boat in any of the great lakes without a life vest on - never!

Our creek up in New Hampshire had little fish like those. I never would have thought of going fishing for them. Too small to eat.

I do not know if you’d be interested, but an old time fishing method was to use a carbide lamp and walk along the bank, when see a cat, aim below his head to accommodate for refraction of light and shoot with a .22. A bow might work and leds might work.

Write the U.S. Geological Survey, U.S.G.S., you can get topographical maps of your area! Wheee there should be logging roads near you where they dug barpits/ponds, to build the roads up, same for well locations, being remote, they have plenty of good size fish!

Same size smallie I caught mine was 2.5 lb about the same size, the one I caught a tad shorter. The misses fish looked a bit longer so it doesn't look as fat as one I caught because mine was an 1.5 to 2 inches shorter so it looked heavier. I weighted mine.

Thats absolutely too many Gar for that little mud hole…plus a turtle too much predators for that tincture mud hole guys!! Come on, yall know what to do!! Right??!! I’m close to a neighbors little pond behind her house, 6500 square foot bought from Lyman Rich’s about30 years ago. Snapping turtles cleared out the whole little pond of shell crackers, red ear & copper nose bream! This pond was bout twice your mud hole too! You both were, as usually excited,& I just Love ❤️ both you 2 when catching fish! I see too many Spotted gar around here too based on pond sizes…you gotta do the right things guys!! A 95 lb flathead catfish was caught in Oklahoma yesterday....he caught it on a trotline. Do you guys ever trotline fish?
