Am I the only one hoping that's what it will be? Blizz should understand how money-grubbing and slimy early access is. They've had a rough go lately, and launches have not been that smooth. Now you're having people PAY for early access, and now any problem they have generates LOTS of angry people. F that. I'm not touching that early access - in the words of Thranduil, "I'm patient. We shall see, I have a feeling the higher tier pre order didnt sell as well as they hoped. Otherwise why would they add a huge amount of recolors/pets, new age Blizzard doesn't add things like that out of the generosity of their hearts these days when it coulda been in the shop or trading post.
@@GGothos I'd argue that most people will buy top tier version two or one week prior to game launch, for the simple fact, that 30 day time game token 'starts working' with purchase. And within a week or two before expansion launch you will still have Remix active (till 2 days before early acces) to level some alts super fast. Have quick loot with all bullions from LFG and so on. If you decided to buy this version its the smartest thing to do if you aren't subscribed constantly.
There was literally none of that for the past few expacs and even less chance now with a staggered launch so easy on the copium there buddy, u just play 3 days later there's no real benefit.

I usually buy the epic edition but just now realizing that I really don't care about the extra stuff that's included and really only did it for the game time. Not a fan of the 3 days early access so I think ill just buy the base edition + game time which will still be cheaper than heroic and much cheaper than epic.

What makes it 3 days of early access if EA starts at 3pm PDT the 22nd, and full release at 26 at 3pm PDT. Sure, for EU, early access starts at midnight the 23rd, but full release ought to be the 27th at midnight, so that's still 4 days. What am I missing?

The sad reality is this practice has already been standardized for a while, our opportunity to fight against sailed past years ago now. I like many people have given up fighting this losing battle, its not worth the stress or negative emotions anymore because the community has spoken at large that they want this stuff.
I would bet a lot of my money, that VAST majority of players will buy 3 days early acces, even if they hate it. Fomo is real thing and people give up to it but won't admit it. If there are lots of people who pay stupid money for some statues/figures, that literally catch dust, than yeah - go figure.

The early access is here to stay and it's not mutually exclusive from pre-ordering so you don't get to pick and choose what aspects you support or don't support about pre-ordering. This will give me quite the advantage as a tank. Low pop realm, gonna be 80 and have full decked out blues by time they even start the game. And I'll have farmed INSANE mats and gotten far ahead on my professions.
maintenance time, servers wont be up until 6pm EST for early access or even longer if it gets extended then its down 10am EST for full release, so maybe like 3-3.5 days

I haven't had an active sub in a long while and was thinking of waiting until the day of early access to buy the Epic Edition, this way I can take advantage of the 30 day game time as well. Would it make sense to wait that long or should I get it earlier? I'm also off that weekend and until then I don't have a whole lot of time to play.
Depends how bad you want to play. If early access allows you to play on your weekend that your free it could be worth it if you don't mind spending extra. You can also save like $30-$40 if you just buy base edition + game time which will likely be a smoother experience at a later date (bugs, server problems, etc...)

One thing I like about this early access is I can play on friday and weekend, and then I can go to work instead of playing through the lagfest that will the game become with regular launch.
Im honestly afraid to take these days off. I don't want to miss/waste two days just mad because everything is off and completely broken. I hate this early access shit. It was easier just having one date.
A lot of people are being very doom and gloom over the prospect that the game will actually work. Dragonflight had like a two hour outage it wasn’t that bad. I was on the largest server in EU and I had very few issues at all during launch. Now there’s gonna be a much smaller audience because a large part of the player base is not gonna be buying the epic edition. In my mind it seems like we’re heading for a fairly calm launch, I’m sure there will be outages but probably not that long lasting ones.
Ive never pre-purchased any edition higher than the basic bitch version and the whole experience just leaves me and my guildies that always get the SE with a sour taste in our mouths. Absolutely a swindlers move, shame on blizzard. On topic of the video, you referenced the first reset and then gave the tuesday that the day launches, surely the first reset will be the first tuesday in sept? If they count the release day as the first reset then the p2w argument is even more valid as even casuals in the past could reach cap before it occured.

Paying beta testers. Happy to spend the £40 for the expansion, but paying almost DOUBLE is insane. Going to sit it out and pretend World of Warcraft doesn't exist for the 3 days. But looking forward to the actual release!

I don't understand the frustration over early access in general. There are multiple other games that have been doing this for years. It's nothing new, it's just Blizzard finally catching up to the industry. Trust me, early access is a godsend as it fleshes out bugs before the official launch and it spreads the population around too vs. everyone trying to log in on day 1 of launch. Not having access to Mythics, Raids, Weeklies, this sound right. You should only be able to do world quests, level up to max, and complete the main campaign and side quests. There's no end game advantage to early access.
It has been so disappointing! People kill the boss way too fast for most people to get credit. Then it takes 90 minutes for the next! I spent 40 mins killing mobs as a new level 70.. i got 120 of the currency. Ugh
I bought it for the WoW time The inclusion of WoW time with the top end edition essentially made the middle edition completely useless imho. If I already had wow time I would've ust got the base edition but since I didn't it made no sense to get any edition but the highest. They knew what they were doing with these prices, the only saving grace in this situation is I can guarantee I'll get my money's worth because WoW is all I play. Lol
@@Giliver Its a very well known marketing trick, to make middle option garbage, to squeeze those extra bucks from max edition. Tho its not that tragic, if you count out 15$ for 30 day game time. Plus people who like vanity items tell me its good deal to them, as all the virtual goodies are worth more seperate than in this bundle. So I think it depends what you like/value. I think personally its both fair to like basic and/or pro edition. Middle one is simply marketing trick.
Only terrible launch with such things was Warlords. Legion, BFA, Shadowlands and Dragonflight were flawless on launch and not a single problem occured and I played all those launches. Launch day and like a week after is always the best.
No Whoever bought the epic edition specifically for early access wasted their money. If you bought it for the cosmetic items and gametime you're doing just fine.

I think it's ultimately hilarious that people are complaining about the price. It's the same exact prices lashed expansion, But you're getting early access on top of everything. Last year dragon flight cost $90 for the epic edition, The war with costs stay exact and you're getting early access on top of what we got late year. If there's no steep caused to it, They're adding more to the highest edition for people to buy it. I'm like other companies when they do that the increase the price, On that hand blizzard did a great thing not increasing your price.
I fully agree with that statement and have been saying this ever since. In my opinion it was a stupid idea to fragment the player base and their reason, saying to make the Epic Edition more appealing, is utter nonsense, they already included guaranteed beta access. It's just another cheap FOMO cash grab - worked with Diablo IV, so it'll work with WoW.

Everything will be working the same as always at every expansion launch. If you think about it you just get to play on weekend instead of in the middle of it. Real stuff starts after 1st reset anyway. If anything you have 3 days more to make alt/alts and thats it.
It doesn't matter bud you're gonna have to get over it. Paid early access to game releases has been standard in gaming for a while now. Doesn't make it right but that's the way she goes now sorry to say.
Here's what you can expect: A buggy, unbalanced mess. Blizzard is incompetent. They couldn't even release the pre-patch without a massive amount of issues.....the expansion itself is going to be a disaster.

I haven't had an active sub in a long while and was thinking of waiting until the day of early access to buy the Epic Edition, this way I can take advantage of the 30 day game time as well. Would it make sense to wait that long or should I get it earlier? I'm also off that weekend and until then I don't have a whole lot of time to play.
Depends how bad you want to play. If early access allows you to play on your weekend that your free it could be worth it if you don't mind spending extra. You can also save like $30-$40 if you just buy base edition + game time which will likely be a smoother experience at a later date (bugs, server problems, etc...)

Let’s hope that this time we will play without a TON of bugs or disconnects because people will LITERALLY be PISSED and Blizzard will show that once again they’re not professional at all

One thing I like about this early access is I can play on friday and weekend, and then I can go to work instead of playing through the lagfest that will the game become with regular launch.
Its win win kinda scenario, as it should be less laggy both 23rd and 26th.

Im honestly afraid to take these days off. I don't want to miss/waste two days just mad because everything is off and completely broken. I hate this early access shit. It was easier just having one date.
A lot of people are being very doom and gloom over the prospect that the game will actually work. Dragonflight had like a two hour outage it wasn’t that bad. I was on the largest server in EU and I had very few issues at all during launch. Now there’s gonna be a much smaller audience because a large part of the player base is not gonna be buying the epic edition. In my mind it seems like we’re heading for a fairly calm launch, I’m sure there will be outages but probably not that long lasting ones.
Predicting that Early Access will be a mess and it should be cleared up by normal release.

On topic of the video, you referenced the first reset and then gave the tuesday that the day launches, surely the first reset will be the first tuesday in sept? If they count the release day as the first reset then the p2w argument is even more valid as even casuals in the past could reach cap before it occured.

I don't understand the frustration over early access in general. There are multiple other games that have been doing this for years. It's nothing new, it's just Blizzard finally catching up to the industry. Trust me, early access is a godsend as it fleshes out bugs before the official launch and it spreads the population around too vs. everyone trying to log in on day 1 of launch. Not having access to Mythics, Raids, Weeklies, this sound right. You should only be able to do world quests, level up to max, and complete the main campaign and side quests. There's no end game advantage to early access.
It has been so disappointing! People kill the boss way too fast for most people to get credit. Then it takes 90 minutes for the next! I spent 40 mins killing mobs as a new level 70.. i got 120 of the currency. Ugh
all i want is to level first day and gather the last of the two days ready to sell :P

The inclusion of WoW time with the top end edition essentially made the middle edition completely useless imho.
If I already had wow time I would've ust got the base edition but since I didn't it made no sense to get any edition but the highest.
They knew what they were doing with these prices, the only saving grace in this situation is I can guarantee I'll get my money's worth because WoW is all I play. Lol
@@Giliver Its a very well known marketing trick, to make middle option garbage, to squeeze those extra bucks from max edition. Tho its not that tragic, if you count out 15$ for 30 day game time. Plus people who like vanity items tell me its good deal to them, as all the virtual goodies are worth more seperate than in this bundle. So I think it depends what you like/value. I think personally its both fair to like basic and/or pro edition. Middle one is simply marketing trick.
Only terrible launch with such things was Warlords. Legion, BFA, Shadowlands and Dragonflight were flawless on launch and not a single problem occured and I played all those launches. Launch day and like a week after is always the best.

I think it's ultimately hilarious that people are complaining about the price. It's the same exact prices lashed expansion, But you're getting early access on top of everything. Last year dragon flight cost $90 for the epic edition, The war with costs stay exact and you're getting early access on top of what we got late year. If there's no steep caused to it, They're adding more to the highest edition for people to buy it. I'm like other companies when they do that the increase the price, On that hand blizzard did a great thing not increasing your price.

I fully agree with that statement and have been saying this ever since. In my opinion it was a stupid idea to fragment the player base and their reason, saying to make the Epic Edition more appealing, is utter nonsense, they already included guaranteed beta access. It's just another cheap FOMO cash grab - worked with Diablo IV, so it'll work with WoW.
That's literally what early access is lol. It's the same concept of buying a VIP ticket to some event and getting in an hour earlier than everyone else. This is not a new business practice lol.

Kinda agree kinda disagree I feel like they are trying to keep it from getting completely unfair with people in full overkill gear before everyone else even so.... you will have a max toon by launch meaning you can hit mythics right away and start earning gear while others have to wait days before they can even start earning

If this pre patch is any demonstration of what to expect, we all just lost money if we paid for early access. This is the worst roll out.

Everything will be working the same as always at every expansion launch. If you think about it you just get to play on weekend instead of in the middle of it. Real stuff starts after 1st reset anyway. If anything you have 3 days more to make alt/alts and thats it.
If people pay for this they support this behavior further. :/

Here's what you can expect: A buggy, unbalanced mess. Blizzard is incompetent. They couldn't even release the pre-patch without a massive amount of issues.....the expansion itself is going to be a disaster.
