Amoeba Amoeba this is completely random, but it would b off the hook if you guys can one day have the young guitarist Christone "kingfish" Ingram rock the Hollywood store.Possibly for a performance, and maybe a what's in my bag.The cat is only 18,and is a blues virtuoso.I was just in the store yesterday :) Always Good to see you guys...shout out to The homie Darryl that I always see in the front.Solid episode right here as always.Big ups/Peace/Bless
I think about this a lot. Im 40 and as a 13 year old i listened to nirvana pearl jam metallica the usual on repeat. For years didnt venture far outside of my faves hated the beatles. I matured and let go, once the floodgates opened.. i discovered napster and had my first job smoked weed and started going to concerts and in a few years of trading records with friends and digital rabbit holes of music i discovered i had amassed 5+ years of 24 hours a day for that full amount of time could listen to a different track.... that was in the year 2000... imagine how much music i have since then and the total bank that we all do not have enough time to finish it all. I also have about 10k $ in comics i have read about half of them and countless video games. The total mass of media is infinite so..
Amo essa banda, e descobrir que eles admiram a música brasileira indo de Tim Maia, Tropicália, Novos baianoa e Chico Buarque. Não esperava por isso, minha admiração só aumenta dps disso
So proud to see so many brazilian albuns in their collections, Its very pleasing to know that the rest of the world like and is influenced by our music too! We got a lot of good things to offer to the whole music culture
I am mesmerized by how they passionately describe the albums they chose. Seeing what they each love from each album and the common strands that everyone is talking about just shows how as musicians they understand each other at a deeper level. I'm just in looooove!!!
You could say like: brazilian music, american music, mexican music, etc...not really hard to figure ways to say stuff more properly. Another way, not good but better: Latin music, American, Latin again...anyway...just be honest: you just don't give a crap. Stop being a hypocrite.
not sure if you’ve seen them live yet, but i saw them just 3 days ago and they blew me into a different realm, they were crazy good. If you haven’t yet, please go!!
Wow.. I love their songs but their music tastes are just so great. I love people who are truly passionate for what they do. You can tell music is their passion because they explain the sounds and how it makes them feel so well. Music just takes you to a different place. Definitely gonna check out more of Chicano Batmans songs.
(Around 1:02 or so I think Eduardo says "Baião" and not "pagode" as the subtitles showed it). I know I am a year late to the party, but I discovered them just a little while ago and (as a Brazilian person myself) I am so happy to see how much they are into Brazilian music and how much those preferences influence on their sounds. I love how diverse are all the albums that they picked and I am really in love with their songs and performances. I hope they are very happy and I hope they achieve a lot of success doing what they love.
I knew that Caetano Veloso was gonna be brought up at some point so, awesome to hear them geek out about their fave influences. I especially love the Tropicalia bits. Can't wait to see them at Tropicalia Fest!!
Metallica...The album that got me into metal.I had it on cassette and I played that thing to death. Last Action Hero soundtrack.I have this as well..Very good choices guy's..
Im surprised they didn't pick out any albums from those old school 60's romantic Mexican groups. Some of their songs have that distinct sound in them. I know because my parents used to play those groups when i was young. So happy I discovered Chicano this year at Coachella. Great group!
Haha I feel the exact same way about that Novos Baianos album as Eduardo. Mistério do Planeta is such a beautiful song. Also very cool to find out they are inspired by Brazilian music, maybe that’s why I dig these guys’ sound so much. Much love.
Fantastic. Coincidentally watched Filthy Friends vid (didn't know who they were as a band though I know them all with their original bands) and Chicano Batman & Solange were purchased. So I then came to the Chicano Batman, loved all the Brazilian music (some of whom I didn't know and will investigate) and they also bought Solange. I'd listened to that Solange album and outside of one of the singles, I was disappointed, felt the album was broken up and didn't flow. Well I bought the latest Sault album (been a fan since about late 2019) and I'm realizing there are huge similarities and common threads with the 2016 Solange Seat at The Table. So I will be purchasing the Solange album and thanking Amoeba's What's in Your Bag. I guess I definitely should be purchasing it from Amoeba too. Also, the daughter with the stickers as eyes was great in the background.
No wonder, these guys are badass.. they got taste in other past/current artists👍🏾 (Their taste reminds me of Detroit Cobra’s late vocalist belting out ‘Midnight Blues’ … AND the late-vocalist of Gun Club; song- ‘Mother of Earth’.. check it out!👍🏾
Very cool. Legal ver que a musica brasileira da década de 60 e 70 influência bandas da nova geração como o Chicano Batman. Atualmente a música brasileira está em decadência, ainda tem bandas interessantes surgindo , só que estão no cenário underground.
Please avert your eyes from our typo in the closing credits! Our apologies to Eduardo whom we mistakenly credited as "Ceduardo."
Amoeba perhaps that'll be his new nickname...?:-)
XDDDDDDDDDD

@Amoeba 5:36 name of song plz..its very low but can you help??
Amoeba he sucks, nobody cares
Anyone else have the problem that there's too much great music and not enough hours in the day to listen?
I like to surround myself with the tastiest most rich music i can
I think about this a lot. Im 40 and as a 13 year old i listened to nirvana pearl jam metallica the usual on repeat. For years didnt venture far outside of my faves hated the beatles. I agree
these guys are dope...the drummer needs his own show talking about whatever he likes.
"If you're into Brazilian music, you'll never stop digging." He's damn right!
I'm brazilian and this make me sooooooo happy
Amo essa banda, e descobrir que eles admiram a música brasileira indo de Tim Maia, Tropicália, Novos baianoa e Chico Buarque. Não esperava por isso, minha admiração só aumenta dps disso
Hell yeah!
This video made me just love Chicano Batman even more.
Great content.
rIGHT, GREAT INFLUENCES
So proud to see so many brazilian albuns in their collections, Its very pleasing to know that the rest of the world like and is influenced by our music too! We got a lot of good things to offer to the whole music culture

That was 13+ minutes well spent! Musical passion expressed!
These guys, these guys right here, please remember them forever as one of the most unique and amazing bands of this century. Glad to find them here
Kinda trippy that these guys played a show at my high school in like 2010 and 7 years later here they are on What's in my Bag.
I bought tickets to tropicalia just to see them, kali uchis & cosmo pyke live. love their music
at WarpLoT I saw them there too !! Best night of my life 😍😭
at WarpLoT that’s one of the best lineups I’ve ever heard.
Ugh i want to go so bad 😪😪😪
Their music is fabulous... i love Warpaint btw
@@angelbaby5406 I agree, best night ever
Eduardo Arenas is my middle school teachers brother, no joke.
IndianaJones 99 yeah he himself has taught as schools too
I love this band, I discovered them the other day. They picked some great albums. The baby girl is so cute, she look like her dad.
I like the dynamic of their picks: world music, world music, METALLICA, classic music, classic music, OPETH
'World music' is the most USA and euro-centric genre name in existence. Not saying it's your fault, I just hate the label.
Believe me, I was trying to figure out a better title to generalize the music they got and "world" was the only thing that came to mind... oh well
What I'm Listening To Don't forget CAN!!!
You could say like: brazilian music, american music, mexican music, etc...not really hard to figure ways to say stuff more properly. Another way, not good but better: Latin music, American, Latin again...anyway...just be honest: you just don't give a crap. Stop being a hypocrite.
papernicolas3 i was about to say the same. "world" music would have to be every piece of music that exists on this planet.
very nice to see these artists listening to brazilian music. ❤ Nós temos qualidade e boa cultura SIM! só basta vocês irem procurar.
Bom gosto da porra. Tropicália, Novos Baianos e Metallica. Só filet.
Oh, how I love these dudes. 'Already know they're gonna have awesome picks!
It's great, thanks Amoeba for Chicano Batman👌
This show gets better and better
Now I need to check out their music, love their influences
In my bag, Chicano Batman's superb new album, "Freedom is Free".
I just discovered this band days ago, I know I know where have I been? They are awesome such a different sound!!!! Can't wait to see them in concert.
not sure if you’ve seen them live yet, but i saw them just 3 days ago and they blew me into a different realm, they were crazy good. If you haven’t yet, please go!!
I don't know who these guys are but as soon as they picked The Last Action Hero soundtrack I loved them straight away.
can I just say I love how his kid is with him? :)
Very nice to see. And what a cutie
Love seeing the personalities of the different boys come out when the talk about their inspirations.
chicano batman with solange doing vocals too: a concept
Chicano Batman is the bee's knees! Thanks Amoeba!
I Have so many Brazilian music on my playlist though I don't understand a single word, the instruments and feel of the music just pulls me in
This was a great episode
Wow.. I love their songs but their music tastes are just so great. I love people who are truly passionate for what they do. You can tell music is their passion because they explain the sounds and how it makes them feel so well. Music just takes you to a different place. Definitely gonna check out more of Chicano Batmans songs.
Oh man Johnny Guitar Watson's '70s stuff is so awesome
Last time I went to amoeba they had Chicano Batman in the world music section
(Around 1:02 or so I think Eduardo says "Baião" and not "pagode" as the subtitles showed it). I know I am a year late to the party, but I discovered them just a little while ago and (as a Brazilian person myself) I am so happy to see how much they are into Brazilian music and how much those preferences influence on their sounds. I LOVED that they choose a lot of classic brazilian music!! Uhuuuu
I knew that Caetano Veloso was gonna be brought up at some point so, awesome to hear them geek out about their fave influences. I especially love the Tropicalia bits. Can't wait to see them at Tropicalia Fest!!

This is all great. They're a boss band, and these are fantastic selections. Come to the UK!
I love Chicano Batman, but when they pulled the tribe album and talked about phife. I have more respect.
Love how they ended up actually going on tour with the Los Grillos Del Norte suit style ~
These dudes have great taste

I dont lnow why people hate Jazz its such an amazing music nothing like 50 60's golden age of Jazz
Haha I feel the exact same way about that Novos Baianos album as Eduardo. Mistério do Planeta is such a beautiful song. Also very cool to find out they are inspired by Brazilian music, maybe that’s why I dig these guys’ sound so much. Much love.
Muy buen capitulo. Buenas referencias. Un abrazo chicos amoeba y chicano batman, sigan con gran trabajo, las mejores de las energías.
God bless the neighbor that gave away his drumset hahah

They're amazing
great episode
Luv this band
Great music
idk much about these guys but they all look very polite and friendly
I was praying Bardo was going to say Caetano Veloso...and he did! I felt a similarity btw the two when they both sing with such amazing abandonment.
“Please don’t think whatever told you don’t listen to jazz. Jazz sucks. …no… jazz..is the shit”

If the opportunity ever arose, we'd jump. Legend.
