Bob Seger was great and one of my favorites. The first big concert I attended was Bob at the Oakland Colosseum in 1979. His final year of touring was 2019. I wish I made it to one of his final shows.

He often opened his shows with this song. Seger retired last year from active touring, but my brother and I got to see him one more time in Fargo. He was sterling, as was that incredibly underrated Silver Bullet Band.

First heard this song when i watched a movie called MASK with Cher , made a big inpact on me as it was the closing song of a very emotional film

a side note to that is that the movie wanted Bruce Springsteen, but he wasnt interested or available, so they decided on Bob...great choice
@@djdelugach2402 Springsteen wanted his music in the movie, but he didn't own the rights to the songs that they wanted and they couldn't come to terms. His music was later put in for the Director's Cut after Bruce pushed really hard. Having said that, there wasn't a more perfect song to end the movie with than "Roll Me Away." You're not human if you don't have a tear in your eye at the end of that movie with this song playing.

Against The Wind or Night Moves. Both classic songs illuminated by 2 vignettes. Night Moves, He's a teeenager. Against The Wind is shared sense of lostness that we feel across time. This man is a very, very good American Rock artist from Motown. So he brings in Soul. Most of Seger's early influences were Black. So, Y'all gave us the gift of music. Seger gives a little back.
Like A Rock is also a great track with this theme.

Strut - bob seger please i had a buddie that was in a band and they played that song. My friend fell down the stairs after band practice fell in a way that sufficated him .he wasnt found till 2 days later .
My mom got us kids hooked on Seger (Pronounced like SEA-ger) and this is my absolute favorite Seger song. And yes, it's an awesome road trip song!

About wanting to just drop off the grid, disappear, unclutter ones life, and to be free. I actually lived off the grid for close to 3 years and most of that time camped out in the wilderness in south alabama. Did a lot of hitch hiking as well. It did get quite lonely though at times.
Fun fact in the movie Mask the Rocky Dennis story : Rocky’s favorite musician was Bruce Springsteen. However, Bruce would not lend his music to the movie soundtrack without an exorbitant fee! So Bob Seger stepped in. And that is why you only see in Rocky’s bedroom, a poster of Bruce and none of this music. Nice way to step up Bob! Especially for a kid that died in 16 for my rare disease😢

I don't know about NOW BUT if somebody said before 2014 I am going for a nice long Ride on My New Motorcycle, and you asked what Kind , "Most would say there is ONLY ONE Motorcycle . There answer would BE Harley Davidson. A Brand New Harley Davidson ,Chromed out after Trump took Office would cost 25 or 30K where I live, I just can't get Use to their Blacked Out Series and Black is My Favorite Color. My current Tattoo Artist owns at least 4 Chromed Out Harley Davidsons . I Love Harley Davidsons I like Bob Seger My Mom used to Rock out to him ALL The Time.
