  • It's a constant challenge to keep parrots entertained. Today we make some chewing toys for Momo out of twigs found in the front yard. Like many people at the moment, we are restricted from living our normal lives, but still wanted to have new things for Momo.
The point of the video is not to show the process of a craftsman built toy. Rather, it is to show how simple and basic a toy can be, yet still be entertaining to our parrots. Projects such as this require a minimum of tools, and the deigns and results are limited by your imaginagtion.
Two wooden horses were made and I know it appears that the one being made in the video is rather scrappy looking, it is actually Momo's prefered toy as it has lots of intesting edges and bits sticking out for him to chew. Momo especially loves the little twiggy ears on it. I think If we made them to look pleasing to the eye and shaped them and sanded them smooth, Momo would not show as much interest.
