Katie Green has a mushroom/ toadstool cardigan( fairy ring pattern) which is super cute. She also has matching hat and socks patterns. Loving your cardigan and half and half wrap. I hope that you have a lovely break...you deserve it!
I laughed when you talked about joining the kid throwing a tantrum...... you have to remember at our age of the 40s we dont have all that energy it takes to do the tantrum 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A great half and half alternative is The Til by Sonder Yarn. It’s a free pattern with a similar effect but starts with a smaller cast on and grows until you run out of yarn! 🫶🏼
Yes, the bag is from The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers! Candice founded a nonprofit organization to empower indigenous women, children, and communities with healing at the forefront. This bag has their logo on it. Candice is an amazing human being!
I was a little late watching this, but I have enjoyed it so much!! You were so happy and bubbly all the time, and I'm so pleased you're having a nice summer. The desire to lie down in the fun park and have a little meltdown was SO funny!! I love the Ambah O'brien shawl, especially in your beautiful pink yarn, and I'm very tempted to make it.
So glad to see you are still enjoying using my bag… and you even took it with you at the festival!!! 😻your space looked amazing. I’d give anything to come and visit you at the festival or in your shop and see in person those gorgeous knits of yours 😻 in the meantime, I will enjoy your company here. Thanks so much for this episode and for all the creative joy you always spread around. Take care of yourself now. ❤
Hi Jana! I started watching your 2021 Vlogmas and sadly don't get back to watching very many videos lately. Life has gotten in the way. But, I have admired your Moomin mugs since I began watching and have never been able to purchase one until... yesterday! Barnes and Noble in the US has them now! I'm so excited because it reminds of you, my Finnish knitting friend.
Hi Jana. I enjoyed your latest episode so much, it was such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for all your hard work and for sharing with us. Hope you have a fun holiday and get a chance to rest. I'm off to make a coffee now. You put me in the mood! Love and best wishes. 😊
A growing shawl that I really loved knitting earlier this year was the Sevilla Shawl. It's a Nutiden held double fabric, but of course, you can always change the gauge and still grow it to whatever size. :)
what a fun episode! I missed you, but, I can see how crazy-busy you have been! I laughed to think of you flopping down next to the toddler to join in the fun-park melt-down! The festival looks so fun. Thanks for sharing all of Miss Clucky's treasures - wow, she really hit the jackpot. Frannie looks lovely in her new dress, too!
Lovely to see you again Jana, hope you have had some restful moments in the last few weeks amongst all the craziness. The spincycle yarn you were gifted is just so Jana!!! Hope you enjoy your holiday!
Hi Jana :) I am sure someone else has mentioned this too but Hide and Hammer make some lovely shawl cuffs but I use a plaited leather bracelet with a snap closure I picked up in a flea market :) Have a lovely break!
You are such a lovely inspiration. I enjoy spending time with you. I sat sipping on a coffee and knitting on a project. I have been wanting to start the half and half. Maybe in the Fall. Enjoy your holidays.
I love pink and orange like you! I’m knitting the same 1/2 and 1/2 wrap but I’m much slower than you! It’s so beautiful Jana!! Those colors make me smile!!
Run away and have a rest Jana, you deserve it, time to put you first for awhile now though? Take care, be well, the knitting festival looked like a fun time, so much yarn! I’d be in big trouble if I went, I could talk myself into buying way too much of everything. The new linen / wool yarn looks lovely, drapes so nicely, I can’t wait to see the colour palette for it. 🥰🙋🏼♀️
Lovely to see you again. I don't normally comment but you really gave me a good laugh imagining you on the floor throwing a tantrum . I feel like doing that too sometimes 😂. We have winter now so good time to knit and crochet. I live in Cape Town South Africa.
Thank you for your lovely podcast! I love the things you knit !!! Thanks for finding the cardigan pattern. It keeps your neck warm. I do 't see that very often.
Welcome back to the other side of the festival.. Lovely to see you again. You helped me to knit the beginning of two sleeves with colour work with magic loop at the same time. The half and half wrap is looking so good I like pink and orange together. I've been thinking of making an half and half wrap for a long time.. I have a yarn cone with a colour that doesn't fit me in Jaimeson's and Smith and then my plan is to work up a lot of bits of fingering leftover sock yarn on the other half. Hope you have a great summer vacation with the family. Relax and do something for nice yourself every day.💟
You got some fabulous gifts! Anniina is quite the amazing sock designer and knitter! Your Half and Half Triangles Wrap is gorgeous!!! Time for a vacation for you, missy! ❤️❤️❤️🌸🌼🌻
Thank you for another lovely episode 😊 I just love the Bellarosa shawl and Turtle dove cardigan I will have to add them to my queue! I hope you have a wonderful week but do try to get some rest! Xxx
I just love your podcast, to see you enjoy and so so so much work you put in your yarn! Great decision to focus more on dyeing yarn in your studio , it will work out in the end ❤ just follow your heart ❤
thank you for another lovely episode - usually watching sunday morning before 7, when all is quiet 😊. i knit the turtle dove cardigan as well. mine is not cropped, i like it - it‘s very cozy. you might want to do some short rows in the back above the hem - due to the high collar mine is much longer in the front.
The half and half triangles wrap is gorgeous! You mentioned the yanders alpaca but I did not quite get the color names and where it was purchased please. Thank you so much. Everything you make is so lovely. It is a joy to visit with you.
I love your visit. My garden was riotous but had strong winds the plied raspberry, grape and squash vines into a jungle held together by bindweed hiding the mint. Big bumble bees and honey bees are in great numbers there. Have fun!
lovely knits from you as usual Jana. I have just finished knitting the Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West , using the eyelet increase. You just knit until you want to stop :) I am very happy with it. xxx
Hi. Have seen lately a fairisle pullover. In the jolk there were trees without leafes. As background a mix out of colors like your spinncycle wool. Rest of pullover was in a neutral contrast color except small repetition of yolk around the wristbands. Seemed to me like northern lights....
Jana have you had a look at the Giselle Shawl if I remember correctly this is a square with half plain and half lace. Thank you for keeping me company again today while I had my morning coffee it is always inspiring to see all your lovely knits. I find I always lose my knitting mojo in summer, I have just come to the conclusion it is a compulsory recharge, and I do some sewing or gardening.
It is always fun to watch your podcast! "Vasara" means "summer" in Lithuanian too :) I remember once you said that "ods" mean mosquito in Latvian, well, in Lithuanian we have two more letters - "uodas" :D :D :D
I would love a cup of coffee but since it’s almost 11PM I better not! I am finishing up a quick crochet mini octopus. Have some lovely time with the family, children grow so quickly both of mine are in their 40’s not sure how that happened. Take care
Jana, could you do a podcast from and a tour of your studio please? Or was that your studio at the end of the video - beautiful. Wish I had a spacead nice. Mine is in the shed and not ideal to store yarn out there as too damp. Only my sheep fleeces. Bought some DMC Linen which will be perfect for the Salty Air Tee.
Hi, Jana! If the mushroom sweater popped up recently, it might have been Mushroom Medley by Annie Lupton. I have knittted the Tresoro tee by Isabell Kramer. It was such a great knit and looks so good in all the samples that I'm thinking of making a long-sleeved version. I hope you can rest now that the festival is over!
Sisters United is a non profit created by Candice the owner of The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers. It helps empower Indigenous women, and the yarn shop sells patterns and goods which the proceeds from go to Sisters United. So, use your knitting bag proudly!😊 Thank you for another lovely episode 💕
Ihania neuleita sullakin on siellä taas tulossa😍 Mä neulon Neon-Vaakatakkia näistä festariostoista, joita tein sulta ja tästä tulee IHANA❤ Huomenna koitan napsia kuvia instaan. Ihanaa kesää, on tätä vielä jäljellä. Oot niin inspiraattorini näiden kirkkaiden värien käytössä. ❤
Jana, my suggestion for an alternative to the Half+Half Triangles Wrap is a variation of the Soirée Scarf featured by Purl Soho. The pattern is written for stockinette, but I am knitting it in garter stitch. The Soirée Scarf is diamond shaped instead of being square, so the shape is less bulky and more easily worn year 'round. There is an Increase half and a Decrease half, using a different color of Linen Quill for each half. I have detailed notes about my Soirée Scarf on Ravelry. My Ravelry name is lexladylyn, and the project page is Soirée Scarf #1. I have never regretted shifting some of my Linen Quill stash over to the Soirée Scarf project.
19:25 how about Gryer by Isabell Kraemer. Ages ago I made it in two colours, it is a nice triangular shawl, only increases, some yarn overs and k2tog to add some interest, and definitely no "yarn chicken" game 😆
I did start my Half&half-look-a-like shawl.I have icord edges in mine. I did co 5sts. I increase on the side that doen’t have icord. I plan to make the center seam like in VU in part 3. In the end I just got to have yarn left for icord bindoff. I have stipes in my shawl and I’m carrying them inside of icord just like in Wests Twists and Turns. So is my shawl Half & half go West? 😁
You could look into making the Simon Shawl - by Joanna Herriott. It’s a big two color crescent shaped shawl that I can’t wait to knit. If you watch her podcast Twinset & Purl podcast you’ll see it. It looks sooooo yummy and easy to wear and style. It sounds like the festival was very busy. I hope it was a great success!!! 💰 Happy knitting. I
I have an idea what you could do with the other linen quill, you now the start of the hansel hap by Gudrun Johnston? Is starts with making a square.. you start at a corner and you increase every row; you could start knitting with one colour and when you have almost finished it you switch to the other colour and decrease until you are done… maybe too simple but I think it would be fun…
Your mushroom earrings 😍😍😍 Bunnymuff has a mushroom pattern. I purchased the hat pattern and added it to a jumper (which turned into a skirt) Katie green also... M_art_inak has a lovely gnome sweater design ❤️🧶

Oh, yes, I love her patterns, but I'm saving that for real mushroom colours. 😊❤️
I laughed when you talked about joining the kid throwing a tantrum...... you have to remember at our age of the 40s we dont have all that energy it takes to do the tantrum 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL 😂I can relate to that.
Just grabbed a cup of coffee! Watching a replay of you, I look forward to seeing you every week. I understand you're busy. We're here for you!!

There are variations of the half&half by purl soho themselves. For stripes and leftovers etc. So you can use whatever amounts of yarns you have...

Kiitos jaksosta ja inspiraatiosta! 🥳
Pinjon sillä kätevillä sais varmaan myös kivasti huivin laitettua 🥰
How delightful! I love that little froggie so much! Adorable!
I had to laugh at the fairground toddler story. Every time I see a child have a melt down in the supermarket Im like "me too kid, me too". 😂
Love your garden, the colors are wonderful. So glad your days are full of joy and family. Get some rest my yarnie friend 😊
Oh how beautiful is the salty air tee. Love the color, ❤ so great to see you Jana, 😮hugs!! All your wips are amazing!

Yes the fairy ring by Katie Green I converted it into a sweater which you will be able to do easily.

Yes, that's my reorganised studio space at the end of the video. 😊 There is also yarn dyeing area in the back, I'll show it another time.
I just finished Stephen West Dotted Rays Shawl and it is mindless but also does short rows and I loved it and maybe can use your Linen Quill.
I did it last year in 3 faded colours. 😊

Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
So much inspiration and items to add to my dream knitting list! What about a Pure Joy shawl (Joji Locatelli) for your remaining Linen Quill yarn?
Thank you, I'll take a look. 😊

Giselle Sjal by Camilla Hoier Adamsen. Silmilar pattern, other part is lace.
