Holy moly, girl! I am exhausted just hearing about all your WIPS and ideas. You amaze me with how fast you have become a prolific designer of terrific wearable patterns. I seem to remember when you were putting together your first design that you said you weren’t going to become a designer…. mahahahaha! Well, that statement has gone out the window. Enjoy your much deserved vacation. (PS - you have the luckiest mum to have you to design AND make her so many lovely sweaters). 💕💜
Let me express my deepest appreciation and absolute admiration how thoughtful you are when it comes to making multiple designs ❤It’s so much work! You are absolutely phenomenal ❤❤❤
Your designs just keep getting better and better! I have so many of your patterns but haven’t knit anything! 🙄 So I’ve done a first! I applied to test your new shawl!! I’ve never tested before but your shawl is sooooo cute! I just applied for the small size so I can do your beautiful pattern justice! I plan on applying to test the Staffin vest too!! I haven’t been this excited about knitting in a long time! ❤❤
I love hearing about how you name your patterns especially from places in Scotland. I got to visit there in 2023. I absolutely loved it. It so awesome to hear about the places I wasn't able to visit and learn more about your country. Also I just have to comment again on the generosity of your patterns ~ wow!
Loving all of your WIPs! I remember the days of the Cathy Cardigan and I'm so excited it will be released. While it was in hibernation my knitting skills have developed, so now I feel equipped to actually knit and not just admire it from afar when it comes out.😄 I've decided to dip my toe into testknitting and have applied for the Staffin sweater. It looks like such an enjoyable knit.
I can’t believe I have to wait until January 😂 I love the Staffin pattern and I think I need to make one for my sister because Skye is one of her favorite places. So glad you popped up on my feed.
I’m excited for your up coming patterns. They look so fun to work! As for my preferred number of WIPs, Ideally, I like to have about 3 knits on my needles. 1 stockinet or simple Ks and Ps knit for TV watching that I don’t need to look down for. 1 interesting / need to concentrate knit typically something with cables or lace for my “me time”. And 1 small and portable knit that’s a simple enough repeat that I don’t need to refer to a pattern to do. Typically a fun sock or baby / toddler knit.
You sure are living life at high speed :-). I am AMAZED at how much knitting you get done , I do knit a few hours a day but I cannot get sweaters off the needles at the rate you do
I certainly do remember that first cardigan! You’ll not be surprised that I was initially captivated by the colour, but I kept waiting in the hope it would become a published pattern, so I’m looking forward to watching it evolve.
I want the Staffin to knit !! That is for sure something I will knit . Your excitement and enthusiasm is infectious! Thank you. Smilled through the whole podcast! I like Rauma yarns, great woolly wool. Woolly Manouth has an advent. Not sure that would work. But ... ttfn
Did I hear Cathy Cardi ?! I'm so excited it's coming back ! I was disappointed when you stopped designing it as I love the stitch pattern. Very excited for saddle shoulders !
Love your videos, always so inspiring. My first thought for minis is Lay Family Yarns, with Nicks pick and mix minis there are over 150 colours to choose from 😍
I want the vest! I love it. I want it in macha and navy and possibly grey. I love this. I made the Petite Knit Storm for my grandson and I loved knitting it. It flew off the needles. This pattern looks much like that knits and purls motif. I can’t wait. I would apply to do the test knit, but I’m not an influencer, so not that many people would see it. Love your designs.
Thanks so much for another fun, engaging, inspiring podcast. I just love your energy and enthusiasm, I always feel elevated and inspired after your podcasts.....😇
omg sooo many wips, the fact that you can keep it sorted is so impressive! Im a 3 WIP gal, a sweater, a sock, and something else small usually! Enjoy your vacation and the knitwear ready weather!
Love your Staffin sweater - definitely will be watching for that pattern to come out. Currently working on the Stick Season sweater for myself (also in green!). Thanks for another great video and congratulations on your new home.
so many wips, wow! I'm so excited to knit up a Staffin sweater in a pumpkin spice orange (similar to your stick season wip). And my guest room is also my yarn room, but so far no complaints from my siblings or in-laws - they just say it feels cozy surrounded by yarn, and the extra knit blankets are a bonus, especially in the colder months!
Helloooo Rebecca! I enjoyed this video and was knitting with Woolly Knit wool whilst watching you! I do love their yarn very very much and do find it a good value! Again you mentioned showing a pattern with the all over colorwork but it never was shown on the screen, dang I miss when this happens!😢😢😢. Would love to see a review of all your knits someday…….. as well as the finished “yarn” workroom! Enjoy your little holiday! ClaudiaSJI
Very much looking forward to this pattern release, jumpers, cardigans and vests in that lovely texture sound just my cup of tea. I'm not fast enough for test knitting so will have to wait for the pattern release. Maybe a Christmas present with some rauma 🤞
Soo excited for the Staffin! Almost immeadialtly applied, I would have some nice options in my stash😅 my magic number is also 4! 😊 have fun on your vacation 🎉🎉
I‘m knitting my first Lanark right now in Woolyknit British DK and I absolutely adore the fabric!!! If shipping and taxes weren‘t so expensive, I would order a lot more sweater quantities…. 😇
I love all your WIPs. The Staffin jumper is lovely. Im intrigued about the advent jumper. Wee County Yarns do solid advent colours but it's a rustic yarn.
Hi ! so many things to talk about lol In your last podcast (I believe) you said your were glad to have so "many" applications for the larger sizes, as a plus size woman, I hope you got even more this time ! :) Because of that, I planned to apply but I guess everything is full ! I'm sure it's going to be an amazing sweater !
5 is my magic WIP number - which usually includes 1 long-term "ok to hibernate for 6 months at a time" WIP, so really the same as you, 4 in-progress things (and I like to vary them, right now I have 3 projects that involve colorwork and I'm trying really hard to space them out so they don't all arrive at the colorwork at the same time).
Oh, goodness! I’m really excited to knit Staffin, but now I have to figure out whether I want a sweater or a cardigan. Your patterns are amazing, but I’m definitely having a hard time keeping up; although, that’s probably a good problem to have vs not feeling inspired to knit😉 Thank you for your designs and your podcast! I hope you, Sam, and your puppy have a relaxing getaway!
i recently discovered you on tiktok and youtube and binge watched all your videos the other day, so im very excited to see a new video! love your energy and your knitting, can't wait to knit one of your patterns 😇 also I love rauma! just finished knitting a cardigan in rauma vams 🤭
I literally JUST finished blocking some cardigan pieces in Eucalan jasmine! Really nice scent. I refuse to buy full size of wool wash because I love being able to try out all the different scents. I always just buy the travel sizes 😄
Advent Ideas: Baby Cat Yarns has gorgeous solids! Still available to order the preorder. But would come from the US. Or I have an advent on order from Beehive Yarns in the UK that is all solids. But that would maybe have to wait for leftovers.
My magic number for WIPS is 3. And one of the 3 must be socks or something else for on the go knitting. I am looking forward to the release of your new textured designs.
I always get so excited for your next pattern. This time applied to test knit because I don’t want to wait until it’s released. Of course you might not pick me, (and that’s okay). Either way, I will be happy to knit it when it’s released. Thanks for another inspiring podcast Rebecca.❤
I remember the cardi. I hv watched you since day one. You have come a long way in a short time ☺️👏👏. We did a test knit together for a shapeless v neck jumper. I can’t remember the name of the pattern. But you weren’t impressed with the results either 🙈😂. Enjoy your holiday xx
Royal blue and cantaloupe are both considered "universal flattering " colors which look good on all complexions. The blues you showed today are beautiful!
The Saffin looks great! If you are going to cast on for a different color for your sample, consider a deep plum color. With your coloring it would look great. I am thinking of Marie Wallen’s Aran weight! Can’t wait to see the patterns released!❤
Solid colour advents? What about a collaboration with Wee County Yarns? I had their Kinross last year it was lovely. Love the Staffin can't wait for this to come out- too busy already with gift knitting to do a test knit much as I'm tempted.
Emma Robinson has an Advent calendar of solid colors. They are all natural dyes. Hers has been miraculous in the past. She is the best for natural dyed yarn, in my opinion.
I love this design! I know it's a bit left-field, but I think it would make a lovely tee shirt, I've got a lovely linen/silk/wool blend yarn that I think I have to try out with this pattern
Fabulous podcast, I love seeing ideas tickle your brain 😂. Your question about solid colour advent in both DK and 4ply. Louie & Lola from Tasmania do a lovely one. I've already ordered mine. They like to do a collaboration pattern. Maybe you could be next Christmas's pattern? Enjoy you week away.
I bought Kate Davies’ Colour Compass advent last year and I’ve loved knitting with her Millarochy Tweed. It has 24 colours and is available again this year.
You are so fun! I love all of your creative energy. The cardigan for your mom looks so cozy and warm and functional; just my style! I love your Cathy Cardigan with the sweet cables and lace design. Will you finish that one? I love the look of the double knit button band, very feminine. Do you think you were going to do the same for the neckline? I can't wait to see what you do with it next year. Have a wonderful week with lots of knitting time!❤🧶
I think Georgie at the Fibre Fox normally dyes a solid Advent, i think the last 3 years have been lightly speckled semi solids but they tend to be fades, so not much contrast.
For my birthday this year I was given The Grey Sheep Company Hampshire 4ply Mini Skeins which would need doubled up or Hampshire DK in 60g skeins. It is beautifully soft yarn with a lovely story behind them.
My startitis is itching real bad right now, but I'm fighting it 😂 I have a long term background wip that I started iiiin... 2019? It's a beekeeper's quilt using fingering scraps, so in between bigger projects I whip out a handful of hexis with some leftovers - I have about 450 so far, not looking forward to joining them all. Currently forcing myself to churn through a bunch of socks for christmas, so the only other wip I have going is my no frills cardigan. But I have yarn and pattern ready for three more projects I'm dying to start 😅
i think i end up feeling the exact same way about woolyknit. i knit the sweater no. 14 (i think?) from a cone about 2 years ago and i dont wear it very often but whenever i do im like "why am i not wearing this more??" its barely pilled in the entire time ive had it and its so warm!
I wonder if i can use my tour de fleece in your sweater. That would be great! Lucky your designs wil keep me so busy. Do i wil enjoy the wait. I love al of them but simply can't keep up😂
So talented and just want to knit all your designs. Just wish my painful hand would let me. Grrrrrrr arthritis, if you have any recommendations how to manage this pain. 😢please share. 🤔
Love, love, love this sweater. I have nothing but time on my hands if you choose me for the test 😀 I have peer GYNT and Tynn silk mohair in poppy and it would be beautiful for this!
I don't have the bandwidth to test knit, but I would love to know when the cardigan goes live. Also this other yarn, I got sadly surprised with lopi yarn and the vendor never came back with non scratchy options. Do you have a preferred vendor I can try?
Ha! I usually have one wip and like to race to the finish. Stuff in timeout doesn’t count as wips, but really never more than one of those. Sometimes I have a wip plus a gnome….. do gnomes actually count as projects???!
We did a 12 day tonal advent for Halloween this year themed around Scooby doo! And we keep around a lot of mini skein tonal sets. I’d love to send some to you if you have a color palette you’re thinking of!

I am so excited about your Staffin pullover design!!!
I am dying for a navy Staffin! I so appreciate all the thought that goes into your designs, and how versatile they are.

Enjoy your vacation and the knitwear ready weather!
My word I do love all the knits especially the blue and green sweater as well as the Staffin with texture. The scarf is lovely in that colour
I really love your textured sweater, I think i'd love to knit it in the Rauma yarn you chose. I am looking forward to knit your honeycomb sweater.
Love your Staffin sweater - definitely will be watching for that pattern to come out. Currently working on the Stick Season sweater for myself (also in green!). Thanks for another great video and congratulations on your new home.

Soo excited for the Staffin! Almost immeadialtly applied, I would have some nice options in my stash😅 my magic number is also 4! 😊 have fun on your vacation 🎉🎉
Impressive skills you have ..so many WIPs . I’ve been working on 2 sweaters since January..and still not close to being finished. 😂
A lot of nice things coming! We are lucky with you as a knitweardesigner.
Happy knittime this weekend (the sleeves!😅) and enjoy your holiday 🥂

Hi Rebecca! I think Wooly Mammoth Fibre Co. has fairly solid colours in their advents.

Exciting patterns coming up!
Royal blue and cantaloupe are both considered "universal flattering " colors which look good on all complexions. The blues you showed today are beautiful!
Gorgeous design! I have a sweater in a similar style but would adore a cardy/vest/shawl in this ❤
The Staffin sweater has a great look! I only wish it was ready for Christmas gift knitting because my teen granddaughters will love it.
I’m sooo excited for your blue cardigan. I need it in my life as well. Such a dream color 💙
The Saffin looks great! If you are going to cast on for a different color for your sample, consider a deep plum color. With your coloring it would look great. I am thinking of Marie Wallen’s Aran weight! Can’t wait to see the patterns released!❤
Excited for the return of the Cathy (Kathy?) cardi! The saddle shoulder will be so lovely!
I love how the vest is looking! And in that color 😍
Solid colour advents? What about a collaboration with Wee County Yarns? I had their Kinross last year it was lovely.
Love the Staffin can't wait for this to come out- too busy already with gift knitting to do a test knit much as I'm tempted.

I was thinking a lighter weight (probably DK) tshirt version next summer! Maybe with the option to change the bobbles for lace

Loved watching this Rauma party! If you're waiting on Vams still, My Ivory Room has loads in stock ❤
Enjoy your holiday, it sounds perfect!
Myivoryroom has vams in green melange in stock!
Loving thismepisodem:) I applied for the Cardigan and crossing all my fingers to get picked!!!
I don't think they do, I can't add it to my basket. It's also almost double the price than at Knitt so I'll just wait out their restock
Excited for the texture of the Staffin
You are so fun! I love all of your creative energy. The cardigan for your mom looks so cozy and warm and functional; just my style! I love your Cathy Cardigan with the sweet cables and lace design. I can't wait to see what you do with it next year. Have a wonderful week with lots of knitting time!❤🧶
For solid color advents, I recommend Moonglow Yarn Co. She's based in the US and may have extras in the near feature.
I think Georgie at the Fibre Fox normally dyes a solid Advent, i think the last 3 years have been lightly speckled semi solids but they tend to be fades, so not much contrast.
I love that gray cardigan!
As a geologist knitter, I appreciate the columnar basalt reference
For my birthday this year I was given The Grey Sheep Company Hampshire 4ply Mini Skeins which would need doubled up or Hampshire DK in 60g skeins. It is beautifully soft yarn with a lovely story behind them.
Oh they are SO pretty! Thank you for sharing!
My startitis is itching real bad right now, but I'm fighting it 😂 I have a long term background wip that I started iiiin... 2019? Interested to know which advent you bought. I have refrained from buying one this year. Congrats on 50k! Have applied for the test knit 😁
Elliot and May! A new-to-me dyer.
As an Estonian, I approve!😅
I think as knitters we all have the problem of being drawn to similiar colours over and over 😂
Hi, what is the name going to be for your mom's shawl collar cardi? I love it and can't wait for it to come out!!!
It's the Stick Season Jacket!
OMG that was so creepy. As you said “is that my door going again?” Someone knocked on my door 😮
I'd love to test the sweater. But I'm not sure where to find the form
I don't have the bandwidth to test knit, but I would love to know when the cardigan goes live. Also this other yarn, I got sadly surprised with lopi yarn and the vendor never came back with non scratchy options. Do you have a preferred vendor I can try?
It should be released in January! Knitt.co.uk is my Rauma source
Will you be making a Staffin for your boyfriend?. I think it be gorgeous on Sam. Although I haven't ever seen him😮 what am I writing? 😂
He would actually really suit one AND has asked for a sweater so maybe this is the one!
I was thinking I’d like to knit one for my husband also.
Ha! I usually have one wip and like to race to the finish. Stuff in timeout doesn’t count as wips, but really never more than one of those. Sometimes I have a wip plus a gnome….. do gnomes actually count as projects???!
GNOMES! So cute!
Imagine how jazzed Noah Kahan and Hozier would be if they received one of these sweaters! As a group, I wonder if we can make that happen?
This would be my life goal made
We did a 12 day tonal advent for Halloween this year themed around Scooby doo! And we keep around a lot of mini skein tonal sets. I’d love to send some to you if you have a color palette you’re thinking of!
The island of Staffa is ringed with basalt columns just like the Devil's causeway in Ireland. Is that what you were thinking about?
❤️🌈
They are your sweaters you shouldn’t feel bad about wearing them. It isn’t like you can’t make another one 😉.
@woolymamothfibers / Emma Robinson does an advent calendar that I think fits what you were describing?
True! I'm not sure it's a 24 day one? But she does have beautiful colours!
@@the.creabea ah that’s true, I think it’s 12 days!
That vest is amazing. I will have to convert it to fingering weight.
I love you're designs and podcasts, but I have a question; Is it possible for You to slow a down (just a bit) when you talk? I'm a Dutch with health issues (my brains) are not capable anymore to follow You in this speed of talking. It would mean the world to me if You would consider it.
Let me express my deepest appreciation and absolute admiration how thoughtful you are when it comes to making multiple designs ❤It’s so much work! You are absolutely phenomenal ❤❤❤
