It has not passed Center for Pet Safety (CPS) testing. From the CPS site, "The PupSaver rotated upon impact and the pet seat rolled onto its side. One anchor strap released due to a plastic buckle failure and the product sustained some tearing ..."
Thank you for this wonderful and informative review, Linda! We'd love to have you review our all new AirPupSaver (available in small for dogs up to 25 lbs. and medium for dogs up to 45 lbs.) sometime soon :) This new model has lower LATCH (child seat) attachment clips and an integrated airbag-style seat back for maximum energy absorption. Hope you are great. - Ashleigh Bennett, PupSaver
Questions for Pupsaver: 1)What happens in the event of a t-bone crash(sideways momentum)? Has this scenario been crash tested? Would the catchers mitt still help or would you recommend a harness to rely on at that point? Should a harness be attached to another location or is the one sewn into the pupsaver strong enough? 2) I am ready 2 purchase for both my dogs but I have one squirmy dog that is going to take a lot of training to get her to stay seated in this. What is your return policy if I can’t train her to like it? Thank you so much!
@@yibuseato I answered your t-bone question under a different video so I'm copying/ pasting here as well: No there is not a t-bone crash test for dog car seats, as the NHTSA (which develops the FMVSS testing that we use) has not yet established that test even for infant car seats. There are many more variables involved in a t-bone or side impact, as opposed to a front or rear-end crash. However, we recently had a customer email us after being t-boned, with her Chihuahua harnessed in her PupSaver up in the front seat of the car. Her pup's life was saved by the PupSaver - the photos are incredibly scary! Her story is available to read on our Testimonials Page of our website. Please visit pupsaver.com/pages/testimonials & scroll to Madeline's Story. Also, the harness that we sell on PupSaver website (which was used with the dog dummy in the seat during each round of crash tests) is absolutely recommended for use with our seats. Our detailed return policy can also be found on our website FAQ page, along with a ton of other pertinent information like training tips, installation videos, etc... Hope that helps! - Ashleigh, PupSaver
Thank you. I just saw this product in Whole Dog Journal and was wondering how it would work with my dog not being able to see out the window and you answered that question

Love the video. I will be getting this wonderful dog seat for my Chihuahua.
Thanks for the review! I hadn't heard of this product before and it's good to know about for small dogs.

We just have to be as careful as possible... others are not careful
