  • "Now Apocalypse" is a half-hour comedy series created and executive produced by Gregg Araki. This surreal, coming-of-age comedy series follows Ulysses (Avan Jogia, “Tut,” “Twisted”) and his friends Carly (Kelli Berglund, “Lab Rats,” Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors), Ford and Severine, who are on various quests pursuing love, sex and fame. “Now Apocalypse” explores identity, sexuality and artistry while navigating the strange and oftentimes bewildering city of Los Angeles. Karley Sciortino - author, Vogue.com sex columnist, and creator and host of “Slutever” on Viceland - co-wrote the series with Araki and serves as a consulting producer.

Can't wait to see it! After binge watching movies my whole life i could never say i have a favorite director/writer/producer, but after watching his movies i finally do, thanks Gregg for changing my life and for your lovely portrayal of an idealistic ethereal world incorporated into this reality.. It made me wanna live again, life changing, and you brought the child in me back, something that i have forgotten for so long but it was so important to me.

Good to see Araki return with what appears to be another installment in the Teenage Apocalypse series. At first, it Initially looked like a reboot of 'Nowhere' with some entry-level James Duval but alas, new material!

This is such an interesting show,
And he’s right being a showrunner is like a 24/7 thing. I created my own #DeathRowSeries , produced a whole pilot too.. hope to get picked up

Stop stealing the lgbt community roles, art, stories
    Dreadful

How do you mean? A gay showrunner, creator and writer. Former sex-worker as the second writer. A female lead who is bi.
I usually try to stay away from writing in the comment section, but this comment made me really curious. As a straight, white, middle class Swede in his early 40's I'm sure there are nuances I don't fully understand in the American lgbtq community, but I like to learn and educate myself.

@@nomusician4737 I think he is referring to Straight actors playing Gay roles. Apparently in "Politically correct USA 2019" that's now.... Racist? Sexist? Something -ist? As a Gay man from Chile i don't really give a damn about the whole PC culture going on in Gringoland right now. Sure i want good gay representation on TV and film, but stuff like "only Gay people can play gay people" or "You're white and Straight and This wasn't made for you" is just dumb and counterproductive.

@@tykross While I can agree about how extreme the PC culture can be, in this instance however, based on his actions and previous works, Gregg is 100% a heterosexist.

I get why people are saying there’s not enough roles for gay actors/actresses but they are ‘acting’ so someone who identifies as gay can’t play a straight person? Their sexuality has nothing to do with their acting abilities.

@@dearnemaree8355 in an ideal world I don't mind it BUT thing is lgbtq actors never get oscars whir straight people get oscars playing lgbtq roles, Hollywood is still massively homophobic and gay actors are still struggling to get parts in movies. And as much as I like Greggg Araki he's been practically hiring straight actors to portray lgbtq characters and that's very problematic.
