P.S. When we recorded part of this video in October of 2020, there were still a lot of restrictions due to you know what, so that's why you'll see so many people wearing face coverings in the videos. We went back in late 2022 to hit some more restaurants and it was much more relaxed that time around.
I hope you find this video to be helpful and if you do, please give it a like and subscribe to my channel so that you can watch future videos when we start traveling more again!
The true test is how many of these places will last. I grew in the low country decades ago when the good spots were over 20 years old. These days, 7 years is considered a good run.
Very good point! The competition is so high nowadays that if your restaurant is not top notch, it will die quickly. Only time will tell!
I am so excited! A few more days and I am there 🎉🎉
Enjoy! It’s a beautiful city. If I could recommend one place to make sure you have a reservation for, it’s The Ordinary. Thank me later!
Rodney Scott’s BBQ is no joke. Love that place and everything is delicious. I usually don’t even use their sauces (which are very good) because their BBQ doesn’t really need it, it’s that well prepared.
I agree, no sauce needed but their sauces were damn good and complimented the pork so well! It’s proper que for sure. Their white sauce with the wings was incredible too.
What a fun trip! Charleston is the best. We gotta go back soon. Leonsssss
Love this video and the footage you provided. Going to Charleston soon and really wanted to go to some places I hadn't visited before. Your critiques were very helpful and honest in really giving me an idea of where I wanted to spend my money. Awesome job!
Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback! Means a lot. I hope you have a great trip to Charleston. My favorite place is The Ordinary, so get some reservations there and let me know what you think!!
I go to Chucktown about once a year to visit family. One of my favorites is just across the bridge in Mt. Pleasant. Page's Okra Grill. Fantastic food. Give it a try.
We actually stayed right across the street from that spot and didn’t get to try it because it was so packed on the Friday we tried to go over for an easy dinner. It does look delicious though!
Nice video. We ate at Fleet Landing. The trigger fish sandwich is all it
Thanks! There are so many great restaurants, it’s an awesome food city.
excellent reviews! Thank you!
Thanks for watching, I’m glad it was helpful!

@@CatInMac thank you!! 🙏
Great video thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it, hope you found it to be helpful! Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
You are so right about that restaurant Husk. It was the biggest letdown we experienced in Charleston and I will definitely never go back there. The food was terrible and way overpriced.
Yeah it’s unfortunate because I was really looking forward to it. Felt like we were eating in the lobby of a hotel too, terrible decor and vibe overall.
I ate at Husk in Savannah...I agree it was overrated!
I’m not surprised about Callie’s I think it’s over hyped. You can look at the biscuits and tell they are dry. Make bisquick at home and they’ll be better
You’re not wrong about that. I had to at least see what the hype was all about on our last day because every time we walked by we saw a line. The Vicious Biscuits were much better IMO.
Husk has definitely taken an huge fall. I'd much rather go to Folly beach and check out a place there to eat near the ocean especially tacos.
I’m with you on that one! Yet so many people still rant and rave about it…it was a huge disappointment for me. What’s your favorite spot at Folly Beach?? 🌮
Great video! You got yourself a subscriber!!! Loved your honest written commentary.
Thank you so much! that’s one of my main goals is to bring some realness to this food recommendation thingy I’m doing here that I still don’t know what exactly it is. 😂 Too many people just regurgitating the same spots even though they’re not great.
@@dankeats Exactly! Also, loved the filming too!
@@TheHappychickadee thanks for the kind words 🙏🏼
Did you try Halls Chophouse? It was rated as the number 3 restaurant in the country. I work there so I'm a little biased lmao
I actually had a reservation there but my server at Leon’s told me to cancel it and book FIG instead. 😬😬 No offense! 😆 He did say it’s a Charleston institution, though.
I really don’t understand the big deal about Halls . It’s okay but not all that
I enjoyed the video but the text moved a bit too fast for me.
I do apologize for that! It’s something that’s a bit of a learning curve for me because I had a lot I wanted to say in only a short time so I couldn’t leave the text up for longer. Working on that for future videos! :) thanks for watching!
I ate at the original Rodney Scott’s in Hemingway and wasn’t impressed.
I can’t speak to that location but the Rodney Scott’s in Charleston was delicious when we went!
I wish you actually spoke in your video because the video is great, but I cannot keep up with those subtitles.
I’m sorry! I know they go by a little quickly to follow, but you could always pause them. I’ve started to narrate my newer videos. I’m learning!
You can pause the video…
If you don't wanna talk in your videos thats cool but give us time to read without having to pause the video. 🙄
That’s my bad, I’m still working it out. The clips of each restaurant sometimes don’t have enough content to match the caption read time so I had to make due. I apologize for the inconvenience but I hope the value I packed into such a short video made up for it! (And the lack of you having to watch me eat. 😂)
Taco Boy is one you need to hit
I have heard good things! What’s the best taco there?
