The wind instruments implying the desolation of the area for no one will ever hear your cry for help. The strings clearly giving off the idea of a menacing and horrifying force. The synths in the mid and background signifying the little time you have. This is a matter of life and death, one slip-up and your story ends. Either you snuff out the dead, or they will snuff out your life. The song ends with sounds of crumpling and the track distorting, marking an end to the fallen, whether it be the withering tumor disintegrating, or your lifeless corpse being slowly enveloped in Marana. When I listen to Before the Light Fades, I remember Arama healing, protecting, yet knowing that he will never see the fruits of his labour. I remember the brilliance of the light of the flowers, the beating hearts of Vanarana, the yearning for Marana to be defeated. I remember the golden Nara and the silver Paimon who gave their all in a fight to protect the dreams of the Aranara. I remember Arana who gave up his memories because he found life more precious. I remember the land slowly healing. I remember the precious memories that others might have forgotten. And where there comes a time where I won't remember, the forest will remember.

Hearing a synth used for Genshin OST is so surreal. The Sci-fi-esque music for the Ruin Golen just really adds how alien the entire thing is compared to the rest of Teyvat. I'm so excited to see more stuff like this as we inch further and deeper into the story!

I believe Chatter Between Roots plays in that cave near the teleport waypoint in Devantaka Mountain, or in some one time domains in Sumeru, not toooo sure though im afraid
One-time domains, Chapter 3 act 2 of the Archon Quest (near the end), the cave that leads to the Ruin Golem entrance in Devantaka mountain, and the domain in Tighnari's quest.
The Withering music (including Before the Light Fades) is so good, kinda wish there's more music like that in Genshin, we need something as intense as that. Something similar to Brian Tyler, Johan Soderqvist, Joseph Trapanese, Hans Zimmer, heck if they even get invited for Genshin music, I'd be down!
Literally that cinematic is the only one that I will keep in my heart with such affection until my death, of all those that have genshin, the best and most beautiful
Even though we know little to nothing about Marana, Hoyo managed to make it seem terrifying - and a magor role in that effect on a player is achieved thanks to the soundtrack. It's really unsettling when that soothing green world around you suddenly becomes bleak, devoid of all colour - and with colour leaves the music's mysterious levity, abruptly interrupted by 26:07 - grim, carnivorous suspense. And you actually *know* that this enemy you're fighting is just another living mushroom with wings; but THE MUSIC (30:04) makes you feel the horror of fighting an ancient monster that's hunting you for some reason. I got Dahaka vibes from it the first time I fought in Marana.
23:03 I'm not quite sure where this plays, but Fading Light is such a good track. The periodic swells of music with creepy ambience in between really give a feeling of like... the final embers of a long-dead nation, at least to me. There was so much progress, so much life, but now all that's left is silence and ruins... (edit: typo)
Before the Lights Fade. The theme is so ominous, it really reminds me of that time I played APHO for the first time in Honkai. Underlevel and trying to avoid all those high level monsters.
I have started my journey in the game this year and I must say it was wonderful. I love the game, it's my favorite one and i love much things about it. The soundtrack is, specially, one of them. The peacefully and calm melodies are perfect for an area that it's pure nature and, literally, is the wisdom nation. The soundtrack in all zones of Sumeru is fantastic and beautiful, you can just stop and sit in a quiet place and listen to the melodies peacefully stopping the g*n*cide of Hilichurls. When I listen to this soundtrack I understand it goes perfect with the type of archont that Nahida is actually, and I love that. So, please, help me with this comment. I really want that Nahida and this would be very helpful for me :) From now, thank you to the communnity and Hoyoverse.

@@miscl_anon Sumeru definitely massive upgrade from all previous region. Music, area (even the village and city in Sumeru have complex design than any town in previous region) , animal and plant, Sumeru just look very different from others.
It sounds like it doesn't matter if you came from another world or if you defeated a dragon, a hydra, defeated a goddess. You could not save your friend, you lost, she escaped from your hands and you were helpless before her departure, thinking that she is there but not her soul and conscience Too sad that anyone would empathize with the traveler
