mondstadt and liyue’s battle themes don’t usually scare me, but everytime i hear inazuma’s battle themes when i’m exploring, my heart slightly drops and i slowly panic…
I know everyone loves Mondstadt because it's nostalgic but to me, Liyue is my home. I could imagine renting an apartment and living there forever. - Joining Zhongli for tea after a long day of playing with the kids at the harbor. - Chilling on Beidou's ship and getting flustered as she shamelessly flirts with Ningguang. - Listening to Hu Tao's ghost stories with Qiqi while Xiao throws in snappy comments and pretends to be bored when really he's enjoying it. - Having dinner at Wanmin Restaurant with Yanfei and Shenhe to catch up on the latest gossip. - Testing some new ice cream recipes Xiangling came up with, in the company of Chongyun and Xingqiu. - Hurrying to help Ganyu and Keqing with their paperwork to hurry back and watch Yun Jin's performance together. - Spending the day babysitting Teucer, and wasting all of Childe's money. God, all the lights, the warmth, the solitude, and that bittersweet feeling whenever having to leave it's beautifully painful.
i remember, when i was first arrived in the teleport way point near liyue harbor to unlock it, i stand there, in the tip of a cliff, looking at the distance of liyue harbor and then 2:05 starts playing, man i felt a slight childlike joy, and i smiled unconciously, damn that moment have been carved into my mind, and i'll always remember it. such a beautiful game.
YESSSSS EXACTLY 😭 I stood there for a good while just immersing myself at the scene of how beautiful Liyue Harbor is and the music. Literally felt like I was THERE in the game 😩💕
SAME. I remember just being in awe by how large Liyue Harbor was. I was all ready to call it a day after unlocking the waypoint, but I just had to go on exploring with this as my bgm.
I'd just imagine us, OGs, in a couple of years after we've finished building every single character, AR 60, standing on top of the world looking down on the beauty that is Tevat. idk if anyone’s noticed, but if you’re in liyue around 5AM in-game time and good night liyue starts playing, the other instruments coming in at 11:32 syncs up *exactly* with the night lights turning off and i swear to god the first time i realized it i gasped. such a satisfying moment, and so pretty to see, especially if you wait by the waypoint overlooking the harbor so you can see the whole city wake up 🥰

As a Chinese, I am really moved to see everyone's comments. The Chinese people have a very strong sense of belonging to "home". I saw a lot of people who said they were very moved when they first came to Liyue harbor, and I was also very happy. This OST is saying to us "welcome home" in a very Chinese way. In recent years, the contradictions in China- both domestically and abroad, have intensified, but fortunately, I can at least temporarily put aside the depression in my heart and meet in Liyue with you guys. sorry for my bad English
Your comment warms my heart 🥰 I have always wanted to visit China one day. It’s pleasant to hear that these songs are what it sounds like to be “at home” in China. Maybe one day I will visit and have this feeling.
@@aboutme7810 This is not a tragedy. On the contrary, it would be great if people could clear the air between each other through games or music. @@monsieurnugai There is a similar saying in spanish, but with the sun. Still the meaning its the same, and its about trying to cover the sun/moon with a finger. Maybe you "can" do it if you get the right angle, still, the sun/moon its something so much bigger no matter if it doesn't seem so with your finger covering it. So the saying is about looking at something small/dumb/a lie when there is something bigger/worth/the truth behind. Also it does mean, on a more literal way, that your are missing something amazing by just seeing something that isn't that important. Idk if I explained myself. Although I've never played the Chinese version but from what you guys have described I can guess that it's translated from a old Chinese saying "一叶障目不见泰山", meaning when there's a leaf in front of your eyes it blocks you from seeing Mount Tai("the bigger picture") behind it.
Yu-Peng Chen, thats a name every gamer is going to remember from now on. I mean say whatever you want about the game itself but the OST is straight up masterpiece. Its insane how a free game has OST that is in the same tier as Final Fantasy and Studio Ghibli.
Genshin Impact ads don't even feel like ads anymore because of the sh*tty ads most of the other games have. I don't even play honkai impact 3rd and this one ad just made me cry and I just found the song - "Rubia" and it's beautiful 💜
@Caleb Yang yeahh.. i think erhu is more popular in chinese orchestra.. i wish the other instruments can be recognised more like pipa, erhu, dizi, guzheng, zhongruan and so on
I met Xiangling in one of the stories, and I followed her to Liyue, picked some Jueyun Chillies. And that's when I heard Liyue's soundtrack. This leads me to explore the whole Liyue without returning back to Monstadt, with MC, Kaeya, Amber and Noelle in my team. Yeah I climbed Qingyun Peak after 3 days playing the game, and I had no idea how I did that, I just kept climbing.
when i first went to liyue i was stuck there because i was too busy looking around there, i forgot my quests, all i did was just wander aimlessly there for hours
thats the best part since teyvat (the one we have rn) is a mix of western (medieval) and chinese cultures and people which makes the music perfectly sum up what teyvat is about just from listening to the music.
Liyue is my Brother's favorite nation together we explore liyue on 2020 so whenever i listen to this soundtrack i just immediately tear up because of nostalgia and sadness, sadly my brother just died this April 11 2022 i gave his account to our little cousin so someone can complete his dream of getting all archons.
Every time I listen to this soundtrack, I always remember my mom. It was me who's playing and she appreciated Genshin Impact's beauty. I was so happy at that time, the time when I just play the game anytime with my mom right beside me. Sadly, she passed away due to COVID. So yeah, uh I hope that all of you guys will be safe, and let's hope that this pandemic will be over.
that is so sad to hear, and I hope that you are doing better :(. Little moments like that are what makes life so special and beautiful. Hopefully you can hold those memories in your heart for a long time. Your mother sounded like a precious woman.
Going through the comments and falling onto this pressed a weight on my heart. I am sorry for your beloved mother. I hope that, now, you are doing better. Know that no matter where she is, she is still looking over you. If you ever feel lonely when playing GI, know that she is still sitting next to you, appreciating the game's beauty as you run and jump through what the game has to offer. My words may seem meaningless, after all i'm just a guy on the Internet. But i do hope that you are doing better by now. As long as she lives through your memory, her soul will always be close to you. Have a good life and i hope my words cheered you up a bit, dude.
I am sorry for your loss. I lost both of my parents too. I hate COVID, took everything from me. Anyway liyue ost reminds me of home, wish I could be in liyue in real life.
@@gametabulas I'm so sorry for your lost, it's also been tough since one of my relative also passed away. Liyue is indeed a sweet and warm home, it will always have a special place in my heart when the game fully finishes all the in-game countries.

Sames!! Sumeru came very close for me, and the other nations still have stunning tracks, but i can listen to every single track of Liyue's and never get bored, knowing exactly where i am, or the feelings i felt whilst listening to certain tracks. Weirdly i love Mond characters the most, yet Liyue is where i feel most free, and would to venture to were i a traveller
Liyue will always be my home in Genshin I remember when I entered the city and crossed the bridge for the first time I was speechless, I was so stunned by the beautiful buildings and just felt this warm welcome. From the toy stand to the fish market on the docks and watching the orange leaves on the trees, watching the kiddos jump and of course the food. The landscape is absolutely stunning and the soundtracks are just as beautiful. In conclusion I love Liyue
I played Genshin completely spoilerless as I was just a noob running around the map when I first crossed the rock archway to enter the harbour and I was just taken away. I never saw any screenshots of any place in Genshin before so when I first "stumbled" upon the harbour I was just left breathless by the scenery.

I've always loved Chinese sounding Instrumentals and Liyue soundtrack was my favorite since I first heard it. I still sometimes walk around in Liyue just so I can hear the soundtrack again, never gets old.
can we all agree that 20:30 is perhaps the greatest piece of music that has ever graced our ears. It's the pinnacle of beauty, serenity. The song is called "Winding River", it's just incredible.
I have to admit since the 2010s hit it became so hard for older RPG players like me who's been playing since the late 90s to experience something novel. Somehow with Genshin Impact it feels like I'm experiencing both something new and old. The excitement I feel after discovering new landscapes is always followed by a sense of nostalgia and longing. It's a weird thing to say but it is what it is. The GI team has done a very good thing with this game, and even though I'm usually adamant about spending money on mobile games, I feel like it's almost a crime if I don't pay a single dime to appreciate the dev team's effort in putting this out. Remember guys, spend responsibly!
I love liyue's ost so much! Something about it is just so addicting and relaxing to hear. My absolute favorite soundtrack goes to 37:18 Another Hopeful Tomorrow
Damn, that part of the track was what I was looking for. It's my favourite part of the whole OST, but I never realised it was actually part of the Liyue theme until I took the effort to hunt for it. I never get to hear it while exploring Liyue, and it's such a pity. It really evokes the emotion of bringing you on a long, emotional journey, and showing you the happy ending of how everyone is doing after the climax. Now I can only hear this variation on Spotify or on RUclips videos. Really wish I can hear it again in the game itself.
Can y'all imagine when we get older and genshin is not a popular game anymore then we'll randomly hear our favorite soundtrack from this game. That would definitely hit hard I might cry.
I remembered Good night, Liyue played when I played the final part of the last archon quest. It made Zhongli's goodbye evermore bittersweet, and I was still missing Venti because I recently finished the Mondstadt arc. Damn their OSTs make me tear up like I won't ever see the characters ever again. I just wanna stay in Diluc's Tavern and be with Venti forever, or stay at that restaurant Zhongli treated me to. Man, I'm getting too emotionally attached to this world.
Oh man I'm the same, I'd just recently finished Zhongli's story quest because just didn't want to do it. I knew we won't be seeing him in a while again so it felt so bittersweet after finishing, I stayed for god knows how long with Zhongli on top of that rock on guyun stone forest. I miss Venti too, but now that I know we'll be seeing him again in the mondstadt festival I feel a bit better. So about being emotionally attached to characters? Yeah bro I feel you 😔

the first time in liyue region, i climb a very high mountain at dawn and get hit by 29:53 . I look upon the cloud below me as the sun rises, and i just stood there for 15 minutes
ah yes!!! this song!! tysm for the timestamp! i've remembered exploring the liyue map as an AR25 newbie and took a break on a mountain to regain my energy, and when this song came, i stood there for 5 mins before climbing up again, thanks again for the timestamp fellow genshin player!
That was literally me when I ventured into Jueyun Karst from Wangshu Inn for the first time. I think I was trying to open up that part of the map so I can fight whatever this "Primo GeoMishap" thing was to ascend Hu Tao, so you can imagine my surprise and joy when the game literally transported me to the realm of the adepti when I didn't even know what an adepti was! Without any warning, the landscape just changed and was just like, "Welcome to the outrealm kid, enjoy your transcendance."
the first time i laid foot in liyue harbor, the first soundtrack started playing and i felt so hyped that i walked towards the bridge. when the beat dropped i bolted towards the city and ran around like a kid. it's a joy i'll never feel again, but i'm really glad i experienced it.
That hits so different when you actually LISTEN to the themes themselves and not while playing a game. It's amazing to feel that you know every note every little detail of the music even though you did nothing but just play. And listening to the music itself while not playing but watching orchestra making music gives you realization of the amount of work they put on every piece of game. This is truly legendary and i don't know why but i already miss the game even if I'm not going to quit playing. I just think about the days i stop playing and it hurts
Genshin's music is really something special. I haven't liked a game soundtrack this much since the Playstation One days. It seems like every day I stumble across some new wonderful piece of music while playing.
because all the backlash being a gacha game is too heavy even if the game is triple A quality if the microtransactions is based on RNG then they hate it or despise im late lol
5:23 Is a personal fav. Also this sequence at 2:06 is what made me fall madly in love wirh liyie and made it hands down my favorate area. Battle theme 2 was the frosting and cherry on top for me too.
Me too man, It feels like nostalgia and it feels like the first time you've gone to an adventure. I chill in the background and listen to this masterpiece with my friends as we talk about the past, Good times.
Do Liyue OSTs always feel like this? feels homey & comfy sitting at your home just doing home chores & converse with the folks. ahh this nostalgic feeling is hitting a little too close to home it seems...
46:03 every time I hear this track... I always, without fail, just... stop. Regardless of what I was doing, wherever I was going... and whatever I was looking for... I almost can't help but to just slowly walk and take in this truly gorgeous world that has been crafted before us. This song, It speaks to me more than the other ones... With a game full of incredibly crafted, beautiful, and quite frankly banger songs; this one just stands out to me... It is the most underspoken, the most subtle, and the most ambient, yet... It grips me so... To describe it in one word, I guess it would be that, to me at least, it feels the most 'real'. So little games can pull you in like this and the music just adds so, so much. When I'm at my most immersed and this song plays, I genuinely get teary just taking it all in. All these characters, all this history. These lands, horizons, and sceneries... This game is one big beautiful piece of art. Thank you to _everyone_ at Mihoyo ❤️
Omg I've been exploring the area where this plays on and I came here looking for this song, it does that to me as well, whenever those strings play I can't help but stop and look around, the peace this theme can put me in is amazing, it's actually turning out to be emotional
20:30 Makes me remember crossing over the threshold from Mondstadt to Liyue and being amazed at how different it was. I really miss that feeling of exploration now that I cleared everything (except getting 36 stars in Abyss, need a little more dps to get the last 3) and now the game has become an rng fest of farming for artifacts with crit substats, getting primos for new charas I want, then logging off.
17:35 wangshu inn ost is so comforting and uplifting in an understated way, was my favorite log off spot in the map for the longest time. i just love listening to it so much, i feel reluctant to leave whenever i do :')
@@kasvinimuniandy4178 me too! wangshu inn shook me more than liyue harbor actually haha~ I still remember one day i decided to explore more and left monsdaht before the quest told me to. it was only after I saw the wangshu inn and heard its ost, I realized the world is much bigger than I thought.......
I like how you have a log off spot just like me. Mine is Liyue Harbor, I just feel safe leaving my character there in the cafe beside streets with many people passing by.
The sound of pitter patter As children run and play And the sound of laughter From the sailors that docked at bay There's nothing that quite swarms the heart with excitement Than a dawning of Liyue Harbor's day
2:34 makes me so emotional. Remembering those days that everything's still so new, and the time when I fully built qiqi because of everyone's recommendation, having low stamina bar, aim charging with amber. Damn, time flies fast when you're having fun.
If we won't going to count hilichurls and other monsters, then yes, Genshin universe looks pretty escapist with all that beauty of different cultures and nature around regions. I wanted to live in Mondstadt before due to how comfortable it looks, and now i want to live in Lyuie because this warm colors and chinese archeticture creates such a magnificent atmosphere... i bet you, i'll want to live somewhere else later when new regions got released. Probably in Fontaine because i love everything French and elegant. And damn, so long to wait for Snezhnaya!😣 I wish they'd show us a traditional Russian archeticture: it would be so beautiful and fairytailish, and would do Snezhnaya justice bacause other regions we've seen so far uses a traditional archeticture of the country they based on. But i'm afraid it's unlikely due to how outfits of Snezhnayan merchants doesn't look traditional at all😞 *sigh*
7:42 makes me feel like I'm inside the game, it's like lying on the grass at night while watching the moon and stars, with soft, gentle breeze against my skin. I love Genshin Impact so much it makes me cry. Never have I wanted to live inside a game so much!
If you and Zhongli meet Ganyu while out picking flowers during sunset, Loners Departure (33:02) plays in the background (idk if it plays anytime else) In my opinion this song could play during both a sunrise or a sunset, which is fitting when you consider that scene from Zhongli's point of view. At that moment, Zhongli is asking her "can you let me go?" He is tired, but hes not sure if Liyue can continue to go on without him after having him guide then for so long. At that moment, for me, the sun is setting on Liyue in both a metaphoric and literal sense. The age of gods is over. Humans must now take control of their own destinies. The feeling of witnessing an end of an era and a dawn of a new one while this plays in the background will forever be imprinted in my head. Tbh i think the story is way better when you know Zhongli is Rex Lapis the entire time. I mean ik most ppl already suspected it, but when you KNOW its just. So good.
Another hopeful tomorrow - 37:19 This little light of mine - 38:45 Legend of Redemption - 40:24 These are my favorites. They give me motivation! The way the melodies climb and progress it is like wind and waves are carrying far, far away.
As a guy who's had alot of exposure to Tibetan culture as a child, this... Feels like home. I feel like I'm a kid listening to my grandpa's music again... Damn...
Admit it, when you hear the first notes of a song, you go like: "Wait, this one's at..." (then you start imagining yourself playing the game, in the location/scene where the song is played"
5:26 was the first memorable moment of music from Liyue. It's like seeing Liyue being bathed in the autumn sunlight, and seeing how beautiful it really is, and realizing how it, like every nation, has hope to become a brighter one (at least, that is what I am thinking).
I really like 23:18, it's so satisfying to hear and I can't help dancing a bit to the sound. I love Liyue's OST the most, because their music is soothing and graceful. Don't get me wrong tho, I love the other nation's OST as well: Mondstadt's is about nostalgia and memories; Inazuma's is about endurance and elegance; and Sumeru's about mystery and nature. Kudos to Hoyoverse for making such amazing music, it really is a blessing
I remember the first time i got to Liyue, i thought it was so beautiful and excited, i took so many pictures and spent all day exploring the area. I kind of just wanna erase my memories of the game and start again as a noob
2:35 why is no one talking about how smooth that change was?? This part of the liyue theme wasn’t included as bgm in the game, but as the bgm for the mingxiao lanterns cut scene . This part of the piece brings it from great, to amazing. It almost represents the changes in liyue as the lantern rite approached. The liveliness and bustle of the Harbor is diminished during the mingxiao lantern, it gives me chills everytime.
36:36 - How can this be so sad but so uplifting at the same time? It feels like Liyue's heritage, but sadness included. It feels so much bigger and greater than anything we know or feel...it's just out of this world. 36:45 literally sounds like the walls of Liyue are upset about losing something important. It's so interesting how, to me, this piece could easily be tied to a love story, a romance, or an important person in someones life, but instead, it's tied to Liyue, which is so clever.
The ending of the Liyue main theme always sends chills down my spine. You can actually feel the honor and pride of the Liyue people and the greatness which the land of Liyue has; it's cuisines, connections to their Archon Lord and Adeptis and strong belief in their tradition.
Liyue's soundtrack is enough to make a grown man cry as well as a Kid. I love you all and keep living for the best, I'll never forget the first time I arrived in liyue and listening to the beautiful song it filled me with nostalgia and fun.

17:35 wangshu inn ost is so comforting and uplifting in an understated way, was my favorite log off spot in the map for the longest time. i just love listening to it so much, i feel reluctant to leave whenever i do :')
I remember feeling so happy and amazed at how beautiful Wangshu Inn was. So lovely and calming.. the scenery is truly breathtaking.
@@kasvinimuniandy4178 me too! wangshu inn shook me more than liyue harbor actually haha~ I still remember one day i decided to explore more and left monsdaht before the quest told me to. it was only after I saw the wangshu inn and heard its ost, I realized the world is much bigger than I thought.......
sameee, sometimes i just sit there and listen to this ost. It's so relaxing and calming
I like how you have a log off spot just like me. Mine is Liyue Harbor, I just feel safe leaving my character there in the cafe beside streets with many people passing by.
Hu Tao & Zhongli sure have good taste
The sound of pitter patter
As children run and play
And the sound of laughter
From the sailors that docked at bay
There's nothing that quite swarms the heart with excitement
Than a dawning of Liyue Harbor's day
🔥✌️☄️

This guy went through so much trouble just to give us all the names of the music and where you can just press the one you want and it can go to it!
i cant be the only one wishing i was a genshin character living a carefree life with excitement everywhere and no stress…

If you and Zhongli meet Ganyu while out picking flowers during sunset, Loners Departure (33:02) plays in the background (idk if it plays anytime else)
In my opinion this song could play during both a sunrise or a sunset, which is fitting when you consider that scene from Zhongli's point of view.
So good.

3:11 this is what my childhood sounded like...
I feel this omg
your pfp was my childhood
ugh the memories of playing the game for the first time :3
36:36 - How can this be so sad but so uplifting at the same time? It feels like Liyue's heritage, but sadness included. It feels so much bigger and greater than anything we know or feel...it's just out of this world. 36:45 literally sounds like the walls of Liyue are upset about losing something important.
It's so interesting how, to me, this piece could easily be tied to a love story, a romance, or an important person in someones life, but instead, it's tied to Liyue, which is so clever.
20:30 honestly best one of them all
