id really love a "you suck at performing" series of videos that goes more into building a cohesive template and performance inside of ableton. it's really hard to find good videos on that sort of thing!
its the year 2022 i have no idea what i am doing but i am having such a marvelous time! my only friend who is suffering atm a dark period because of alcoholism visited me yesterday since a long time. he is very down because of covid atm all therapy institutions are cutting short. i showed him the set i copied from your stuff - and we jammed together. i was using sometimes a little turntable (my scratching is just ass but i dont care) he was trying to control all the faders, hahaha, we laughed so hard, it was so much fun, used a lot of strange vocal samples i found over the years. it was the best evening since a long, long time...
I produce underground rap beats for 15 years. Been loving reggae and dub for over a decade. Tried making a "real feel" Dub track but been falling short of the target, for 2 years now. I love the gritty, genuine feel/sound/timbre of 70s and 80s Reggae and Dub tracks. The equipment used, the techniques for recording and mixing/mastering, just wow. I'll keep listening and producing for decades to come.
be warned this is not an education channel, its entertainment... its been an hour, i cant get back to mixing. I just came online to see where is the sidechain button.. ended up subbing and binge watching on this channel. fr tho, really good stuff.
Trying to emulate your delay feedback distortion loop from the intro. A great effect I remember from the main beat to Leftfield's 6-8 War. Getting something close to it with Objec Delay with a very quick delay tap, some saturation and a little upper-mid range eq boost.
I just found your channel today, your fantastic mixing tutorials had definitely brought me to the point of climax and then I saw this dub mix title and I just skipped parts 5,6 and 7 and just went straight to creaming my pants. So err... so thanks.
Thank you.. Sorry, but how do you setup your mapping so that your gains don't go to +6db... I saw in another video you used the Sends instead of gains to avoid the problem. I thought that was the solution until now.
Lel. FR u can do that with FL. The Signal of the Echo was sent back through the echo itself so you got a loop there that's going on like forever this is the feedback. And a Return track is just a regular Aux Channel, i.e. the Echo Plugin is on that Return channel and you can send the other channels through it. I'm pretty sure that u can do that in FL studio too
You can, but I just downloaded dubs off of RUclips(search for Scientist dubs), save them in a folder on your computer/laptop. Open Ableton and locate "places"(it should be on the left side under "categories". Click on "add folder" and locate the folder that you saved the scientist dubs in. Select it and now you should have a copy of your dubs folder in Ableton. Then drag and drop them into the clip slots.
Hi, I'm Underbelly. In the next episode I'm going to scrub the AIDS off of the faders of my controller.

I'd like to recommend Softube's Tube delay and Spring reverb units for reggae music. They have the red, yellow and green theme for a reason.
I really like dub music

Holy fuck I've been obsessed with Fatty. Really didn't expect to see a video about him, let alone dub in general
he has a couple of tutorials on here aswell though
Hi, anyone know what dub audio pack is being used in the video here?

You just entered another level
I love your videos! :)
Thanks for the video. I missed Scientist at Loop, so I double appreciate it.
Nice bro , which other effect you can use for dub ? You put it on the master ?
Clean the APC40 every now and then - paint brush works - avoid noisy faders

Anyone knows from which tune are these samples taken ? Or if there is a tune that is arranged in a similar way .
I'm kind of asking the same thing... did you ever figure it out?

Dub musician here. You got it. I would add a bit more delay to everything tho 😊

Dust your GEAR, Derrick... jesus.

Hey! I was wondering if one needs to download/buy tracks from a specific source to be able to edit/dub reggae music
You can, but I just downloaded dubs off of RUclips(search for Scientist dubs), save them in a folder on your computer/laptop. BTW, a good old spring reverb would’ve been a great addition to the mix!😋
What midi controller is this, Underbelly?
AKAI APC40 MKII
Haha this was funny af😂😂
Is this the Rasta joe
Aight, so check it; thnx for the vid, mate. Vibes and all those terms you know. But yeah, cool vid, dude.
Came here expecting to learn at least one new trick, but I found 5 minutes and 4 seconds of this guy being condescending AF
Wowsers
No mention of spring reverb at all?
No, because this smug prick knows nothing about dub.
@@missinglink8164 absolutely, the dotted 8th delay is what makes the delays interesting and this tosser just completely misses that.
yes

hey buddy i aint got that echo audio effects on my library :S
